Celosia argentea spicata

We have been growing Celosia Flamingo Feather for several years now, and it is a great and popular choice for all weddings. It is a type of wheat celosia, where the flower heads are truly small pointed spikes. When grown in a polytunnel, the color tends towards pink, while at lower temperatures, even purple shades appear. It dries wonderfully and does not wilt, making it suitable for corsages and wreaths. One plant produces one thicker stem with multiple spikes and 5-7 smaller side shoots.

Limonium sinuatum

Statice is a classic from grandma's garden, but also an evergreen of dried flowers. We grow statice by the hundreds! It is incredibly useful in bouquets as filler material and even undried lasts a long time in a vase. Once all the florets on the stem bloom, statice no longer wilts and is suitable for wreaths, corsages, boutonnieres. We have been looking for a true blue shade of statice for several years. Even though this beauty is named Dark Blue, don't be fooled, it is purple through and through. One plant produces at least 15 stems. For drying, we harvest statice at the stage when the stem under the flower is firm and the entire inflorescence has bloomed. Just hang them upside down, in a dry and ventilated place, out of sunlight.

Ageratum houstonianum

Ageratum is a great filler material for bouquets all summer long. It loves heat, so you will achieve the best harvest in the second half of summer, and it will bloom until frost. For continuous harvest, you will need to make 2-3 sowings. Suitable for drying. The QIS Bouquet Blue variant has blue in the name, but like most flowers, it blooms in a light purple.

Bupleurum rotundifolium

Our favorite foliage and filler. It grows beautifully and binds famously! The flowers are yellowish, so they don't color-match every bouquet, but we still never have enough of it! And after flowering, tiny seed pods form which are also beautifully decorative and don't wilt; we love collecting those too.

Helichrysum bracteatum

This piece has been with us for a long time. Light pink combined with creamy white. Each flower has a different distribution and combination of these two colors. The Strawflower is a classic from grandma's garden but also an evergreen of dried flowers. We love using them when arranging for weddings because they don't wilt. They are suitable for corsages, wreaths, and boutonnieres. For drying, we harvest flowers that are not yet fully open, when the yellow center cannot be seen yet. At the same time, we check the stem below the flower; it should already be firm, not "rubbery". Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, out of direct sunlight.

Helipterum roseum

Paper daisy plants are not very tall, 30-45 cm. The flowers are smaller in size and straw-like, so they hold beautifully in wreaths, circlets, or other wedding pieces and do not wilt! The color is Barbie pink and the centers are dark brown. For drying, we harvest flowers fully open, but not "overblown"; the centers of the flowers must not be turning brown. Matthiola incana

Stock is a wonderful cut flower! It likes low temperatures, yet we grow three batches a year – two in spring and one in autumn. You harvest just one bloom per plant, but it is a really large, double one. Stock smells beautiful, almost intoxicating, and lasts a long time in a vase. The flowers are edible. The Katz series is not as susceptible to temperature changes, and is generally easier to grow for beginning gardeners. However, this comes at the cost of thinner stems and a lower percentage of double flowers. Katz Cherry Blossom is a soft shade of pink in the colors of apple blossoms. All stocks produce some plants with double flowers and some single. The ratio is different for each series. Katz has 55-60% double-flowered plants. We therefore recommend growing a bit more. At our farm, however, we use the single ones too; they look super unique.

Cultivation

Doporučujeme pouze předpěstovávat, nevadlec potřebuje ke klíčení vyšší teploty, přímý výsev by tedy kvetl velmi pozdě.

Pokvete tedy nejkrásněji koncem srpna a celé září.

Doporučujeme oporu.

Centaurea cyanus

The blue cornflower is an absolute classic of our fields and meadows, which probably needs no lengthy introduction. However, the 'Tall Double Blue Boy' variety brings something extra. Compared to its wild relatives that we see along roads, it boasts rich flowers in an unmistakable, deep blue shade, sometimes with a purple tone. You can hardly imagine anything more meadow-like. Thanks to its strong stems growing up to eighty centimeters tall, this annual is perfectly suited for cutting, adding true rustic charm to bouquets. But its use doesn't end in the vase. The flowers keep their fantastic color even after drying! At weddings, we loved using them in flower crowns and corsages, where they have excellent stamina! The petals are edible. They serve perfectly as an original garnish for summer salads, desserts, or festive cakes. Moreover, in the garden, it functions as a reliable magnet for bees and bumblebees, who simply go crazy for its nectar.
