Peony Poppy Black
Dark burgundy color is always trendy for wedding floristry.
At the turn of spring and summer, large full flowers are missing. The last ranunculus fade and there is a lot of time left before the first Dahlias bloom. At our farm, it was always a struggle to find beautiful full and large flowers for bouquets at that time. But we succeeded! We filled the vacuum with China asters and peony-type poppies. These poppies reliably replace the peony, ranunculus, and Dahlia. You just have to keep in mind that they don't last long in bloom and need a little care to hold in a bouquet. We harvest a cracked bud, scald the ends of the stems for a few seconds in water, and let them finish blooming in a vase.

Poppy Pandora
A Poppy of a distinctive bordeaux color with light grey marbling.
We have been growing corn poppies since the first days of Loukykvět and are returning to them again this year. The corn poppy needs more care as a cut flower and doesn't last as long in a vase. But! It is such beauty that it is worth it anyway.
Here is our guide for corn poppies. We harvest buds that have just cracked open. It suffices to see a crack on the bud and color inside. The corn poppy has only a few petals, so it takes a moment to open. We freshly trim the ends and scald them in hot water (just boil water and use immediately), or sear the ends with a flame. The heat helps the poppy open paths for water absorption and it won't wilt. We arrange freshly opened pieces or buds in bouquets, given that the poppy will open during the day.
If you plan to sow poppies just for pleasure in a flower bed, none of this is necessary of course :)

Cosmos are an absolute classic and a matter of the heart for us! In the past, we cut them by hundreds of stems on the farm and our customers, especially brides, literally loved them for their lightness and elegance. While common cosmos mainly offer a white and deep pink palette, 'Apricotta' brings a completely new and fresh color tone to the flowerbeds. It is a unique combination of light pink and the lightest salmon, which looks incredibly tender and original. The flowers have a silky appearance and gently sway in the wind, which adds pleasant dynamics to the garden.

Hrachor vonný 'Spencer Nimbus' je popínavá letnička, která vás během léta odmění záplavou temných švestkově fialových, bíle a světle fialových květů s velmi intenzivní vůní. Vzhledem k tomu, že jde o rostlinu vyžadující specifickou péči a je vhodná spíše pro pokročilejší pěstitele. Předpěstování trvá průměrně 6 až 8 týdnů. S výsevem můžete začít buď na podzim během listopadu a prosince pro dosažení velmi brzkého kvetení, nebo klasicky během ledna-února. Semena necháme před výsevem namočená přes noc ve vodě. Klíčí nejlépe při stabilních teplotách v rozmezí 16 až 20 °C, přičemž první zelené klíčky se nad povrchem objeví za 7 až 14 dní.
Pro výsev zvolte květináč 9x9cm, hrachor potřebuje hned od začátku dostatek prostoru a při přesazení nesnáší porušení kořenů. Do jednoho květináče vysejte vždy 2 až 3 semena a nezapomeňte je zasypat vrstvou substrátu, semena totiž pro správné klíčení potřebují tmu. Substrát udržujte vlhký, ale nepřemokřený. Jakmile sazeničky povyrostou a vytvoří hezkou malou rostlinku, je důležité je včas zaštípnout. Tím podpoříte větvení a získáte bohatší a hustší rostlinu plnou květů.
Na venkovní stanoviště přesazujte sazenice až ve chvíli, kdy povolí mrazy a půda se mírně prohřeje. Vyberte jim místo na plném slunci nebo v polostínu a sázejte ve sponu 10x20 cm. Jelikož tato odrůda šplhá do výšky 100 až 250 cm, je důležité zajistit jí pevnou oporu, například napnutou síť, treláž nebo tyčky, po kterých se bude pnout. Hrachor vyžaduje pravidelnou, středně intenzivní zálivku, aby půda nevyschla. Kvete od května a pokud budete rostlině odstraňovat odkvetlé květy, může kvést až do začátku srpna. Všechny části této rostliny jsou jedovaté a nejedlé.
Sklizeň- Květy sklízíme ideálně v ranních hodinách. Vybíráme ty, které mají na koncích ještě nerozvinutá poupátka. Sklízíme buď čistě jen kratší stonky s kvítky, ale skvělé vyžití ve floristice mají i delší šlahouny s listy. V aranžích a kyticích vytvoří nenahraditelnou texturu! Kvítky hrachorů vydrží ve váze jen pár dní (cca 4-5). Pokud chcete jejich výdrž prodloužit, doporučujeme po sklizni nechat hydratovat 4hodiny v roztoku stříbra (stříbrného thiosulfátu).

The blue cornflower is an absolute classic of our fields and meadows, which probably needs no lengthy introduction. However, the 'Tall Double Blue Boy' variety brings something extra.
