Cosmos bipinnatus

Velouette is the cousin of the Cosmos Rubenza. A wine shade is common to them, only this piece has white brush strokes on the petals. The beautiful thing is that every flower is different—on one you will find more white, on another, it is the opposite.

These beauties love heat, which is why we associate them mainly with late summer and early autumn. Scalding helps with vase life: dip freshly trimmed stems into 90°C water for 3 minutes and then immediately into cold water. One plant produces at least 5 stems. Irish Eyes has elongated petals, larger flowers, and a light center.

Helianthus annuus

The centers are dark brown and attract insects, but they do not produce pollen, and the seeds are empty. Pollen-free flower varieties are bred because pollen is an unwanted companion in floristry, often due to allergies. One seedling produces one flower. And the final advantage of the Solano Sunflower is its lower price.

Helipterum roseum

Paper daisy is our novelty this year and we like it very much! The plants are not very tall, 30-45 cm. It looks a bit like an anemone thanks to its dark centers and white petals. The flowers are smaller in size and straw-like, so they hold beautifully in wreaths, circlets, or other wedding pieces and do not wilt! For drying, we harvest flowers fully open, but not "overblown"; the centers of the flowers must not be turning brown. Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, away from sunlight.

Tropaeolum majus

We know it’s not a classic cut flower. But it fits perfectly in beds, has beautiful colors, and is edible, so we forgive it. Nasturtium flowers have stems 15-20 cm long. So they are suitable for arranging in containers, tying small posies, or as cake decorations. Our Nasturtiums are not climbing, but bushy. Troika Yellow is a vibrant orange with red brushstrokes in the center.

Zinnia elegans

Warm orange and apricot. The Queen Lime series is our favorite Zinnia; it's love at first sight! The flowers are large, up to 10 cm, surrounded by many petals, giving a double-flowered appearance. Moving towards the center, the petals get smaller and end up unopened at the center, creating a frosted cupcake effect. No other Zinnia compares!

Gomphrena globosa

Warm pink, that is the shade of 'QIS Rose'. We love all flowers here that grow ready to be dried and are suitable for wedding crafting or any kind of arranging. And Globe amaranth belongs to this group. It is not a cut flower that breaks records. Its advantage lies in the flower, which is tiny and straw-like. For drying, we harvest colored, round heads in full bloom. Once the inflorescence starts to elongate, it is too late for drying. Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, away from sunlight.

Agrostemma githago

We grew Corn cockle a few years back, but it finished blooming terribly fast and it was hard to keep up with the harvesting pace. However, Ocean Pearl is a great white variety with large flowers, so we turned a blind eye and added this Corn cockle to our repertoire. It fits wonderfully into wedding floristry; the flowers have a few grey markings or spots inside and look beautifully delicate, resembling a refined seashell.

Limonium sinuatum

Divine color cocktail of sunset colors! Statice is a classic from grandma's garden, but also an evergreen of dried flowers. We grow statice by the hundreds! It is incredibly useful in bouquets as filler material and even undried lasts a long time in a vase. Once all the florets on the stem bloom, statice no longer wilts and is suitable for wreaths, corsages, boutonnieres. One plant produces at least 15 stems. For drying, we harvest statice at the stage when the stem under the flower is firm and the entire inflorescence has bloomed. Just hang them upside down, in a dry and ventilated place, out of sunlight.

Cynoglossum amabile

Although correctly it is the Chinese hound's tongue, on the farm we don't call it anything other than forget-me-not! Unlike the classic water forget-me-not that we all know, this species has massive and long stems perfectly suited for binding. The color is a very fresh and distinct blue. Pure splendor! We don't have nicer photos for this year because every year we cut the ornamental carrot down to the last stem and there is simply no time left for photos. Thin, strong stems and umbel inflorescences resembling dill at their ends. There are thousands of tiny flowers on each stem creating a veil or lace effect.
