For drying

Goniolimon tataricum

In nature, we find it in steppes on dry pastures and stony slopes of Central and Southern Europe. It is a well-known plant used in floristry. Excellently usable in both fresh and dried states. For drying, we select only stems with fully opened flowers. We hang them flowers-down in a dry, airy, and dark place.

Gypsophila paniculata

Paniculate baby's breath is originally a plant from the sandy steppes and slopes of southern Europe and central Asia, which has been grown in botanical gardens since the 18th century. Since the mid-19th century, it has also become naturalized in private gardens and became a classic cut perennial. In the garden, it applies excellently in modern-style steppe beds with grasses and drought-tolerant perennials, to which it adds airiness and lightness. The 'Flamingo' cultivar boasts a flood of tiny double flowers in a tender pink color, which last on the plant from July to September. The plant requires full sun and very well-drained, ideally sandy soil, because its deep taproots cannot stand winter dampness. Thanks to them, however, it resists drought excellently and is fully frost-resistant. For florists, baby's breath is indispensable, whether for fresh summer bouquets or for drying, as it retains its shape and color even after drying.

Limonium latifolium

Statice 'Robert Butler' is an unmistakable perennial that brings softness and airiness to flower beds. The original species grow wild in the steppe regions of southern Europe, which is why it appreciates full sun and well-drained soil in the garden as well. It is an exceptionally hardy plant; it can handle severe frosts and does not suffer from diseases or pests. The grown seedling you will receive from us simply needs to be transplanted into the flower bed with a spacing of forty centimeters. During July and August, richly branched stems grow from a basal rosette of leathery leaves. These bear veil-like panicles with thousands of tiny lavender-colored flowers. In flower beds, it functions as a great filler plant and reliably attracts bees. Florists swear by it. The flowers are perfectly suited for cutting into summer bouquets, adding volume to them. If you want to preserve its purple beauty for the winter, statice is ideal for drying. You simply need to collect the stems when the little flowers are fully colored.

Gypsophila paniculata

Baby's breath 'Perfecta' is the uncrowned queen of tied bouquets and traditional cottage gardens. It originally comes from the sandy steppes and sunny slopes of southern Europe and Central Asia, which makes it an exceptionally hardy and low-maintenance perennial that loves the sun and well-drained soil. In garden compositions, it creates fluffy white clouds that beautifully lighten and connect plantings with colorful perennials or ornamental grasses. The 'Perfecta' cultivar stands out with its compact growth and sturdy stems that do not break and bear a flood of double, pure white flowers resembling tiny pearls. It is an absolute staple for anyone who likes to create their own bouquets. It stays fresh in a vase for a long time, but it serves just as well dried in winter arrangements, where it retains its fragile beauty.

Anaphalis triplinervis

Tiny white buttons of flowers that look like small Strawflowers make the three-veined everlasting an unmissable part of any drought-tolerant garden. This adaptable perennial naturally grows on the mountain slopes of the Himalayas, which is why a sunny location with well-drained sandy soil suits it best. It is exceptionally tough, tolerates drought and frosts well, and will please you with the fact that diseases and pests avoid it. The silvery-grey leaves bring a sense of calm to the plantings and harmonize beautifully with summer flowers. Bees love to feast on its flowers, and it is literally a treasure for florists. Fresh stems with blooming edible flowers perfectly liven up summer bouquets, where they stay fresh for a long time. However, you will fully utilize its beauty when drying it. Dried everlasting does not lose its radiant white color and will become a great foundation for your winter dry arrangements and wreaths.

Gypsophila paniculata

Baby's breath Snowflake is an absolute classic that should not be missing in any traditional or modern garden. This perennial plant originally comes from the sandy steppes and sunny slopes of southern Europe and Central Asia, which predestines it to love full sun and well-drained, even sandy soil. It has been grown in botanical gardens since the eighteenth century, and thanks to its low maintenance, it quickly found its way into private gardens as well. It forms rich, airy clumps that look like white clouds when in bloom and bring a unique lightness to flower beds. The Snowflake variety stands out with a flood of pure white, mostly double flowers that appear from June to August. It is an ideal plant for modern steppe plantings, where it perfectly complements ornamental grasses and drought-tolerant perennials, but it is also traditionally planted as a delicate companion to roses. For florists, baby's breath is indispensable. It is excellent for cutting into fresh bouquets, where it adds volume and softens the overall impression, and it can just as well be dried for winter decorations. The plant is frost-hardy and long-lived, so it will bring you joy in the garden for many years.

Pennisetum alopecuroides

Fountain grasses originate from East Asia, where they grow in meadows and light forests. They form hemispherical clumps of narrow leaves which, like the flowers, color up in the autumn. They are suitable for the vase and for drying. The 'Hameln' cultivar is one of the most reliable bloomers in cooler regions. The inflorescences initially have a soft pink tinge, then change color to yellow-brown or reddish-brown.

Helleborus orientalis

Hellebores are evergreen perennials that form slowly spreading clumps of leathery, dark green leaves. Stems usually bear four to five flowers. They bloom very early, as early as late winter and the beginning of spring. They are suitable for vases only after conspicuous seed pods form in the center of the flower and the flower matures. Before that, they tend to wilt and the stems cannot hold the flower in an upright position. All parts of the plant are poisonous. The flowers of Hellebore Double Ellen Purple are semi-double to double, deep purple in color with contrasting white stamens. As the flowers mature, the dark color fades and the edges of the petals remain distinctly colored.

Fragrant

Mentha spicata

Kentucky Colonel spearmint is a popular perennial that brings life to any outdoor space. Originating from moister temperate regions, it appreciates a semi-shady or sunny spot with well-drained, humus-rich, loamy soil. You will receive a well-rooted seedling in a pot, which you can easily transplant directly into your border. The Kentucky Colonel cultivar features large green leaves and a strong minty aroma. It grows to around half a meter tall and forms a vigorous patch. Cultivation is incredibly easy and perfect for beginners. The plant overwinters without issues, withstanding frosts down to minus twenty-eight degrees. In summer, tiny white inflorescences appear above the foliage, acting as a beacon for bees and bumblebees. Mints are highly sought after in floristry as fragrant foliage for bouquets. Both the green leaves and flowers are edible, perfect for mixing into summer drinks. This perennial is disease-free; occasionally, the mint leaf beetle might appear, which can simply be picked off.

Euphorbia characias wulfenii

It is a typical Mediterranean species that tolerates drought and heat well here, but not winter waterlogging. The wulfenii cultivar should be less sensitive to cold, but intolerance to winter waterlogging remains. Plant in protected places, e.g., in front of a warm house wall in Mediterranean-style beds. Floristically, it is valuable for its greenery and early flowering. Lasts 7–10 days in a vase. Beware of the milky sap in the stems, which can irritate the skin.

Delphinium elatum

Larkspurs are a classic and dominant feature among bedding perennials. We often see them accompanying roses and peonies. To stand out, they require plenty of space and regular fertilizing. You can enjoy their beauty in flower beds, bouquets, and even try drying them; the flowers retain their rich color well. They last 7 days in a vase but are sensitive to ethylene released from ripening fruit.
