Eucalyptus Small Leaved Gum

Eucalyptus (also known as gum tree) is one of the most requested greens and fillers in floristry ever, it is trendy! The color is silvery blue-green, which is such a combination that we are not surprised by its popularity at all. Eucalyptus Silver "Dollar" grows beautifully tall, the branches are more sparsely built. The leaves are larger and round in shape. The color of Silver Dollar is more silvery and thus in floristry fits rather into colder color combinations. For drying, we harvest as soon as the tips of the twigs are mature and the last leaves are firm. Just hang them upside down, in a dry and ventilated place, out of sunlight.

Large, round-shaped leaves look tender and polished, fitting perfectly into all bouquets. Unlike other species, each leaf sits on a long petiole, creating a beautiful effect of trinkets or ornaments hanging on a twig.

A novelty of 2021, we are testing new eucalyptuses and Blue Gum is a peculiar variety. But beautifully peculiar! The leaves are unprecedented and do not actually resemble eucalyptus in composition, size, or shape. They are large, long, and pointed. But the colour is textbook eucalyptus! The twigs are rich, full of leaves, which is why it is a great filler for bouquets. For drying, we harvest as soon as the tips of the twigs are mature and the last leaves are firm. Just hang them upside down, in a dry and ventilated place, out of sunlight.

New for 2021. The leaves are tiny and brownish-green.

An evergreen favorite at the flower market! Sea Holly is a perennial; it lasts for several years in the flowerbed and spreads beautifully. The "flowers" and leaves are slightly prickly; it does look like a miniature thistle after all. The stems and tops are silvery blue. And mature, bloomed Sea Holly doesn't wilt, making it great for drying, wreaths, and similar uses. For drying, harvest when the thistles are colored blue and the stem below the thistle is firm. Just hang them upside down in a dry, ventilated place, out of sunlight.

A cut flower perfectly suited for the job, but it looks famous in the flowerbed too! Craspedia forms a basal rosette of greyish, inconspicuous leaves, from which "antennae" peek out. Straight, strong stems have yellow balls at the ends. We recommend harvesting in the bud form, before they fully bloom. Green ones are also interesting, as they are neutral and fit into any color combination. For drying, harvest when they are colored up. Just hang them upside down in a dry, ventilated place, out of sunlight.

Pure splendor! We don't have nicer photos for this year because every year we cut the ornamental carrot down to the last stem and there is simply no time left for photos. Thin, strong stems and umbel inflorescences resembling dill at their ends. There are thousands of tiny flowers on each stem creating a veil or lace effect. It is a mixture of colors, where some flowers are pure white, but the majority are chocolate to burgundy with a touch of white.

We think mixing different textures is the most beautiful approach for both bouquets and flower beds. And we haven't seen an effect like the one created by this ornamental grass before! After blooming, the top of the stem bursts into a delicate firework display. We use it in wedding corsages all the time; it creates a wonderful impression in bouquets, and in larger quantities in a flower bed, it is pure charm! They are also great for drying! Harvest when the blooms are mature (their light green color is replaced by darker shades of green to brown). Just hang them upside down in a dry, ventilated place out of direct sunlight.

The Bronze&White variant is the most beautiful of all colors. The color is salmon to coral with lighter highlights on the flowers. At the farm, we are always looking for interesting species and colors. And the Snapdragon Madame Butterfly is our darling! The flowers are double-flowered, which takes the whole Snapdragon to a new level! The stems are not as massive and long as, for example, in the Potomac and Maryland series, but they make up for it with their double blooms. We use them in bouquets, where they create beautifully large volume. One plant produces one larger and 4 smaller side stems.

Cosmos are one of the most popular flowers on our farm. They resemble Daisies and customers love them. And now imagine that such a hit comes in a double-flowered version! Absolutely magnificent! A flood of flowers resembling cotton candy. Snow Puff is creamy white. One plant produces at least 12 stems.

Our favorite foliage and filler. It grows beautifully and binds famously! The flowers are yellowish, so they don't color-match every bouquet, but we still never have enough of it! And after flowering, tiny seed pods form which are also beautifully decorative and don't wilt; we love collecting those too.

A classic among Nigellas, a shade of deep sky blue. Nigella is a spring beauty, but its pods are also great for harvesting, so it lasts in the flowerbed until summer.

A divine cocktail of sunset colors. From light champagne and apricot to salmon. The Strawflower is a classic from grandma's garden but also a staple for dried flowers. We love using them for weddings because they don't wilt. They are suitable for corsages, wreaths, and buttonholes. For drying, harvest flowers that are not yet fully open, when the yellow center is not yet visible. Also check the stem below the flower; it should already be firm, not 'rubbery'. Just hang them upside down in a dry, ventilated place out of direct sunlight.

An interesting name and an unusual flower resembling baby's breath. The rich blooms on the stems invite you to divide them into several smaller vases to decorate a windowsill. It finishes blooming quickly, so we recommend succession planting. You will harvest 3-4 stems from a single plant.

Chabaud carnations are one of the most beautiful novelties of the year. We are over the moon! Surprisingly, you get a great result from early winter sowing in that very same year; no need to wait. The flowers are smaller, but they make up for it with their color shades! 'La France' is a delicate powder pink. A gem!

The largest and most luxurious flower in the entire Tall Double Cornflower family. The blooms are full with plenty of tiny florets, appearing fluffy, like a feather.

We have been growing Celosia Flamingo Feather for several years now, and it is a great and popular choice for all weddings. It is a type of wheat celosia, where the flower heads are truly small pointed spikes. When grown in a polytunnel, the color tends towards pink, while at lower temperatures, even purple shades appear. It dries wonderfully and does not wilt, making it suitable for corsages and wreaths. One plant produces one thicker stem with multiple spikes and 5-7 smaller side shoots.

Statice is a classic from grandma's garden, but also an evergreen of dried flowers. We grow statice by the hundreds! It is incredibly useful in bouquets as filler material and even undried lasts a long time in a vase. Once all the florets on the stem bloom, statice no longer wilts and is suitable for wreaths, corsages, boutonnieres. QIS Pastel is a beautiful sample of colors in tones of blue, violet, lavender and pink. One plant produces at least 15 stems. For drying, we harvest statice at the stage when the stem under the flower is firm and the entire inflorescence has bloomed. Just hang them upside down, in a dry and ventilated place, out of sunlight.

Yarrow belongs to our best-selling cut flowers. Everyone loves it! Summer Pastels contains, besides white, other colors unseen in Yarrow, such as pastel yellow, light pink, or salmon. Yarrow is a perennial and spreads beautifully year after year, so plant with sufficient spacing.

Bred feverfew, the inflorescence consists only of tubular florets, i.e., a center without ray florets or petals. Crown White is a commonly grown species in Holland and sells great at the flower exchange. It is therefore professional seed, but don't worry, we tested it and it can be grown both outdoors and in a polytunnel; both work perfectly. Crown White has slightly longer tubular flowers, giving a disheveled impression. The color is pure, bright white.

A florist classic: the cute, velvety bunny tail grass. It is great for drying, but we think it looks most beautiful while still green. We use it to make wedding buttonholes, in wreaths, simply everywhere. One plant produces at least 20 stems. For drying, harvest when the flowers are fully developed but not yet dry and brown. Just hang them upside down in a dry, ventilated place out of direct sunlight.

Larkspurs are spring beauties that are unmatched. But if you want to harvest them for cut flowers, you must be vigilant and harvest quickly before all buds open. Especially in the warm springs of recent years, they bloom quickly, so we sow several batches 14 days apart just to keep up with the harvest. Larkspur QIS White is a delicate white, fitting beautifully into wedding floristry. From one plant you will harvest one thicker stem and 4-5 smaller side ones.

You can't imagine anything more meadow-like! The blue color is absolutely enchanting and it is a terrible shame that it can only be grown at lower temperatures. The Tall Double series is a fuller-flowered Cornflower than the one we see along the roadsides.

The best-selling cut Zinnia ever! But the main thing is the color! Antique wine fading into antique pink. The Queen Lime series is our favorite Zinnia; it's love at first sight! The flowers are large, up to 10 cm, surrounded by many petals, giving a double-flowered appearance. Moving towards the center, the petals get smaller and end up unopened at the center, creating a frosted cupcake effect. No other Zinnia compares!
