Perennial and Ornamental Grass Collection with Alliums and Seeds
Hot Summer in Citrus Tones
A collection diverse in both color and shape, designed for full-sun beds with well-drained soil that dries out well in winter, ensuring the most stable conditions for your plants. It is ideal for gravel-mulched beds, as it contains plants that look natural in such an environment and do not require daily care. You will find mostly smaller flowers here, but in a varied range of colors and shapes. Catmint and resilient spurge provide the first green elements in spring. We chose catmint in an unconventional pink, but you can supplement it with white or classic blue varieties. Yellow is provided by goldenrod—a cultivar with sterile vanilla-yellow flowers—and yellow lupine look-alike (Thermopsis), which, despite its flower shape, thrives perfectly in the conditions of a steppe bed. Oregano adds scent and an edible element; you can choose among the herbs. We opted for the 'Herrenhausen' cultivar with its striking, darker inflorescence, which is well-suited for both fresh bouquets and drying. And white? It shouldn't be missed. Whirling butterflies (Gaura) also bring an element of lightness and movement to the entire bed. Pearly everlasting (Anaphalis) with its silvery-grey leaves creates ground-covering cushions upon which its white, strawflower-like bead-like blooms will stand out. And what about grasses? 'Pony Tails' feather grass is a good choice for dry, sunny places, and if you want to discover the magic of our native grasses, reach for thread-leaved, fine-leaved, or melic grass. In addition to small-flowered alliums, brodiaeas will also look great in such beds. You can complete the color palette by sowing nigella and Californian poppy. This collection will be a major attraction for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. You can easily combine this collection with plants from our 'Hot Summer' line.
When planning, count on an average of six to seven perennials per m², depending on the soil quality in your garden and your intentions. In nutritious and sufficiently moist soil, perennials will grow faster and the distances between them can be larger to start with; in poorer conditions, it will be better to plant them more densely. The time you can dedicate to bed maintenance will also be a deciding factor.
With our collection, you can work creatively and adapt it to your needs and your garden. In the basket, you can easily adjust plant counts and choose appropriate species and cultivar substitutes. For example, if you are already growing some of the perennials in this collection and only need to supplement your bed, you can keep only the selected species in your basket. Conversely, when shopping in autumn, you can take advantage of available bulbs and order the complete collection, including spring bulbs and alliums, which will ensure your bed has plenty of flowers in both spring and summer.

Feather grass flowers capture attention in beds and bouquets with their lightness and delicacy. All feather grasses love full sun and dry, stony, well-drained soil. To look most natural in beds, it is good to plant them in loose groups of several pieces together with other drought-loving perennials and bulbs. Only then do their stems and inflorescences, set in motion by the slightest breath of wind, truly stand out. Stipa 'Ponny Tails' is a species native to the steppes of Mexico, Texas, and Patagonia. Airy, dense clumps of hair-like delicate leaves resemble horsehair. The leaves are green, turning up to straw-colored towards the flowers. In a suitable location, it also self-seeds.

Allium roseum
Allium roseum comes from the sunny Mediterranean, where it grows naturally in dry steppe communities. Green leaves sprout from the bulbs in early spring, and by the end of May, delicate star-shaped flowers begin to open on thirty to forty-centimeter-tall upright stems. They are arranged in approximately seven-centimeter-wide inflorescences in a beautiful light pink shade. With their delicate fragrance, they act as a reliable lure for bees and other beneficial pollinators. In gardens, Allium roseum looks absolutely magical in the company of drought-tolerant ornamental grasses and various herbs, to which it adds lightness and color. It is a low-maintenance perennial that naturally retreats back into the bulb after flowering in the summer to gather strength for the following year. You can freely harvest its edible flowers to garnish food or for bouquets. Freshly cut stems can keep you happy in a vase for a good two weeks.

Allium neapolitanum traveled to us from the sunny Mediterranean, where it grows naturally in dry steppe communities. In spring, during May and June, it produces thirty to fifty-centimeter-tall upright stems that bear delicate, star-shaped, pure white flowers. The entire plant also has a pleasant fragrance and acts as a reliable lure for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, to whom it offers valuable food at the beginning of the season. We always select and send our customers the largest available bulbs, from which strong and healthy plants will easily grow. In gardens, this garlic looks absolutely great in combination with drought-tolerant grasses and various herbs, where its pure white flowers stand out beautifully. Fans of cut flowers will also fall in love with the plant, as it will stay fresh in a vase for a good two weeks. Given that both the leaves and flowers are edible, it can also be used to garnish spring dishes. During the summer, it naturally retreats into the ground to rest and gather strength for the following spring.

Goldenrod Solar Glory
The 'Solar Glory' goldenrod will brighten up late summer flower beds with its golden flowers and reliably attract bees. The original wild species come from North America, where they grow in open, sunny locations. Our garden cultivars have retained their immense hardiness, but they have no invasive tendencies and do not spread uncontrollably in beds. After transplanting into well-drained loamy soil, a sturdy clump reaching a height of up to one meter will quickly grow from the supplied mature seedling in a pot. It is an undemanding, long-lived perennial that even beginners can manage to grow. It needs no support, does not suffer from pests, and handles severe frosts. 'Solar Glory' is specially bred for cutting and blooms in lighter yellow shades from August to October. For harvesting into bouquets, you can use blooming stems as well as those with buds; they will last about ten days in a vase. It will also serve excellently for drying into winter arrangements. The uncut flowers will create a nice winter effect in the flower bed. A surprise is that the flowers are edible, and you can use them to garnish your dishes.

Large-flowered catmint comes from the Caucasus and Eastern Europe, where it naturally grows in open meadows and pastures. It is a vigorously and uprightly growing clumping perennial that will bring a pleasant aromatic scent to the garden. It thrives best in full sun or light partial shade, in well-drained loamy-sandy soil. It is an absolutely undemanding plant that does not suffer from diseases or pests, requires no support, and playfully handles even severe frosts down to -34 °C. Therefore, even complete beginners can easily manage its care. The Dawn to Dusk cultivar stands out with its delicate flowers in shades of light and old rose. In the garden, it grows to a height of about one meter and reliably attracts bees and other pollinators. It is excellently suited for flowerbeds as a traditional companion to roses, but it also fits beautifully into wilder meadow compositions with ornamental grasses. It blooms profusely from June to September. After the first wave of blooming, we recommend cutting the plant back, which will encourage further growth and the catmint will bloom once more. Furthermore, its flowers are edible and you can successfully cut them for summer bouquets.

Gaura is a charming clump-forming perennial whose original homeland is the sunny plains of Texas and Louisiana. In the garden, it will appreciate exactly the conditions it is used to from nature, meaning full sun and well-drained, even poorer and sandy soil. A sturdy clump that grows to a height of around eighty centimeters will grow from the seedling you receive. It belongs among the very undemanding plants for beginners, which are completely avoided by diseases and pests. Although it behaves more like a short-lived perennial here, it willingly self-seeds in a suitable location. The tiny little flowers colored in pure white and light pink shades resemble small butterflies and bloom tirelessly from June all the way to October. It adds extraordinary lightness and airiness to flower beds, making it combine beautifully with ornamental grasses. During its long months of blooming, gaura is constantly surrounded by bees, for which it represents a rich food source. The flowers are perfectly suited for cutting into summer bouquets.
