A collection diverse in both color and shape, designed for full-sun beds with well-drained soil that dries out well in winter, ensuring the most stable conditions for your plants. It is ideal for gravel-mulched beds, as it contains plants that look natural in such an environment and do not require daily care. You will find mostly smaller flowers here, but in a varied range of colors and shapes. Catmint and resilient spurge provide the first green elements in spring. We chose catmint in an unconventional pink, but you can supplement it with white or classic blue varieties. Yellow is provided by goldenrod—a cultivar with sterile vanilla-yellow flowers—and yellow lupine look-alike (Thermopsis), which, despite its flower shape, thrives perfectly in the conditions of a steppe bed. Oregano adds scent and an edible element; you can choose among the herbs. We opted for the 'Herrenhausen' cultivar with its striking, darker inflorescence, which is well-suited for both fresh bouquets and drying. And white? It shouldn't be missed. Whirling butterflies (Gaura) also bring an element of lightness and movement to the entire bed. Pearly everlasting (Anaphalis) with its silvery-grey leaves creates ground-covering cushions upon which its white, strawflower-like bead-like blooms will stand out. And what about grasses? 'Pony Tails' feather grass is a good choice for dry, sunny places, and if you want to discover the magic of our native grasses, reach for thread-leaved, fine-leaved, or melic grass. In addition to small-flowered alliums, brodiaeas will also look great in such beds. You can complete the color palette by sowing nigella and Californian poppy. This collection will be a major attraction for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. You can easily combine this collection with plants from our 'Hot Summer' line. When planning, count on an average of six to seven perennials per m², depending on the soil quality in your garden and your intentions. In nutritious and sufficiently moist soil, perennials will grow faster and the distances between them can be larger to start with; in poorer conditions, it will be better to plant them more densely. The time you can dedicate to bed maintenance will also be a deciding factor. With our collection, you can work creatively and adapt it to your needs and your garden. In the basket, you can easily adjust plant counts and choose appropriate species and cultivar substitutes. For example, if you are already growing some of the perennials in this collection and only need to supplement your bed, you can keep only the selected species in your basket.
