Mallow is an undemanding native perennial with pleasantly scented pale pink flowers. Since ancient times, its leaves, flowers, and unripe seeds have been used as vegetables and herbs. In the 16th century, it was even considered a panacea. In flower beds, due to its rapid growth and development as well as rich flowering, it is perfectly suited for filling gaps in newly established plantings. It looks very effective already in the first season and grabs all the attention at a time when other perennials are still taking their time. The fragrant and delicate flowers are very suitable for cutting into vases and also attract bees. A beautiful pure white form of mallow, elegant in combination with roses or in drought-loving communities.

This perennial scabiosa grows wild on mountain meadows and rocky slopes of the Caucasus, northern Iran, and Turkey. In gardens, it is grown for its charming large saucer-shaped flowers. It has strong long stems, making it a perfect perennial for cutting. It is best harvested while the central florets are still firmly closed; it then lasts up to 10 days in a vase. The seed heads are also very useful and can be dried. Fama White has pure white flowers.

Stock is a wonderful cut flower! It likes low temperatures, yet we grow three batches a year – two in spring and one in autumn. It is a hardy and long-lived perennial and resists powdery mildew well. Harrington’s Pink is a variety found in the wild; it has 2.5 to 3.5 cm large flowers of bright pink color with a yellow center. It belongs to the later-flowering varieties. It lasts 7 to 10 days in a vase.

This species of Loosestrife comes from East Asia, where it grows on moist mountain meadows. Fragrant flowers grow in elegantly curved spikes, composed of individual tiny white star-shaped flowers. The matte green leaves, which turn beautifully yellow-orange in autumn, are also interesting. It lasts 10 days in a vase.

Anemones come from the same family as buttercups. With their elegant flowers on long slender stems, they can liven up and brighten late summer and autumn beds. They stand out against the darker background of shrub groups and will also be grateful for their partial shade. The Czech Perennial Association chose autumn Anemones as the perennial of the season for 2022. They last 7 days in a vase. Whirlwind is a historical variety bred in 1887 in the USA. It has a semi-double pure white flower, often with inner twisted petals, and compact, strictly upright growth. The flowers are very durable.

St. John's Wort bred for floristry use. It blooms with smaller yellow flowers, but the essential part comes after them. Namely, spherical, slightly pointed berries that hold well on the plant. They are neither poisonous nor edible; their use is purely decorative. St. John's Wort often blooms again immediately after the ripening of the first wave of berries, so we can find flowers and berries on one bush at the same time. It lasts two weeks in a vase. Globo Ruby has round ruby-red berries.

It is a typical Mediterranean species that tolerates drought and heat well here, but not winter waterlogging. Plant in protected places, e.g., in front of a warm house wall in Mediterranean-style beds. Floristically, it is valuable for its greenery and early flowering. Beware of the milky sap in the stems, which can irritate the skin. Lasts 7–10 days in a vase. Silver Swan has creamy white variegated leaves and is a great addition to elegant bouquets.

Panicle hydrangeas are beautiful shrubs originating from China and Japan, where their bark was used, among other things, to make paper. We grow them for their impressive conical inflorescences. They are undemanding and richly flowering plants suitable for planting in beds and larger containers. Grandiflora has inflorescences up to 20 cm large, initially white, changing to pink.

Earlier, they tend to wilt and the stems cannot hold the flower in an upright position. All parts of the plant are poisonous. Double Ellen Red is a double-flowered hellebore with rounded petals of dark burgundy red color with a lighter undertone on the bottom row of petals.
