Geums are charming spring perennials with adorable cup-shaped blossoms in warm color shades. The flowers grow on long, branched stems. The petals are often ruffled, and the flowers are semi-double. Their clump-forming foliage is also interesting, creating good ground cover over time. Flowering geums are a great attraction for insects, especially butterflies. For bouquets, harvest when a quarter or half of the flowers on the stem are open. They will last 7 days in a vase. The 'Mango Lassi' cultivar blooms from May to September. It has full, apricot-colored flowers with gently ruffled petals.
