Amaranth QIS Tower Green

We recommend Amaranth of the 'QIS Tower' series! The stems are woody, strong with panicles resembling chubby dusters, unlike all other amaranths that form spikes. 'QIS Tower Green' comes in a shade of fresh green. Show full description

Daucus carota

Pure splendor! We don't have nicer photos for this year because every year we cut the ornamental carrot down to the last stem and there is simply no time left for photos. Thin, strong stems and umbel inflorescences resembling dill at their ends. There are thousands of tiny flowers on each stem creating a veil or lace effect. It is a mixture of colors, where some flowers are pure white, but the majority are chocolate to burgundy with a touch of white.

Amaranthus caudatus

An Amaranth novelty. Usually, you encounter solid colors with amaranths, so 'Mira' is a pleasant refreshment. The color is not solid; it shifts between green, antique pink, and burgundy. A great and delicate combination! Amaranth is an unbeatable filler for bouquets. Simple to grow, fast-growing, and adding beautiful structure whether to a garden bed or a bouquet.

Amaranthus cruentus

We have been growing the amaranth Hot Biscuits for several years and it is our favorite! Biscuit brown is a beautiful autumn shade that fits perfectly with all color combinations. It is Amaranthus cruentus, so the tail grows upright. Each plant produces one strong stem and up to five weaker side stems.

Moluccella laevis

Interesting greenery and a classic cut flower. It looks curious, and perhaps that is exactly why it is grown. The long stems are covered in small light green cups. It belongs to the Lamiaceae family, which you can recognize immediately by its typical scent.

Bupleurum rotundifolium

Our favorite foliage and filler. It grows beautifully and binds famously! The flowers are yellowish, so they don't color-match every bouquet, but we still never have enough of it! And after flowering, tiny seed pods form which are also beautifully decorative and don't wilt; we love collecting those too.

Ammi visnaga

Ammi likes low temperatures, so it is purely a spring and autumn beauty. It adds a fresh and airy effect to all bouquets, and the same applies to the flower bed. The flowers are composed of individual tiny florets resembling lace, which is why we use it instead of baby's breath. 'Casablanca' is a larger Ammi; the plants are taller and more robust, the stems stronger, and it doesn't fade as quickly. Still, we recommend sowing more than once.

Panicum elegans

We think mixing different textures is the most beautiful approach for both bouquets and flower beds. And we haven't seen an effect like the one created by this ornamental grass before! After blooming, the top of the stem bursts into a delicate firework display. We use it in wedding corsages all the time; it creates a wonderful impression in bouquets, and in larger quantities in a flower bed, it is pure charm! They are also great for drying! Harvest when the blooms are mature (their light green color is replaced by darker shades of green to brown). Just hang them upside down in a dry, ventilated place out of direct sunlight.

Scabiosa atropurpurea

Zinnia elegans

A novelty in the Queen Lime series. Blotch is a lime green shade. The flowers are large, up to 10 cm, surrounded by many petals, giving a double-flowered appearance. Moving towards the center, the petals get smaller and end up unopened at the center, creating a frosted cupcake effect. No other Zinnia compares!

Panicum miliaceum

There are never enough grasses; you need lots of them if you tie bouquets, and they look beautiful in ornamental beds in the garden too. Umbrella is a very nice type of millet. The ears bend after ripening and create a waterfall effect. The fruits are larger, beautifully visible little balls. Such a waterfall of beads.

Setaria italica

Millet is used in bird feed, but we discovered that it is a beautiful cut flower! If you plant it in the garden for decoration, you can feed the local birds with it right away. The spikes are large and compact with 'buns' full of fruits and grains. The spike bends, which creates an interesting effect in bouquets. For drying, we harvest when the buds are just starting to open. In full bloom, the flower heads fall apart. Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, out of direct sunlight.

Cosmos bipinnatus

Cosmos are one of the most popular flowers on our farm. They resemble Daisies and customers love them. And now imagine that such a hit comes in a double-flowered version! Absolutely magnificent! Atriplex hortensis

Orach is our darling! That’s a sentence a gardener probably shouldn't say. But we are talking about Garden Orach! If you haven't tried it yet, you are making a big mistake! It self-seeds beautifully, but don't worry, it's not a weed, there is nothing to fear. The plants are massive, reaching up to two meters. And after ripening, the branches are covered with 'coins'. Helichrysum bracteatum

This piece has been with us for a long time. Light pink combined with creamy white. Each flower has a different distribution and combination of these two colors. The Strawflower is a classic from grandma's garden but also an evergreen of dried flowers. We love using them when arranging for weddings because they don't wilt. They are suitable for corsages, wreaths, and boutonnieres. For drying, we harvest flowers that are not yet fully open, when the yellow center cannot be seen yet. At the same time, we check the stem below the flower; it should already be firm, not "rubbery". Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, out of direct sunlight.

An evergreen favorite at the flower market! Sea Holly is a perennial; it lasts for several years in the flowerbed and spreads beautifully. And mature, bloomed Sea Holly doesn't wilt, making it great for drying, wreaths, and similar uses. For drying, harvest when the thistles are colored blue and the stem below the thistle is firm. Although correctly it is the Chinese hound's tongue, on the farm we don't call it anything other than forget-me-not! Scabiosa atropurpurea

A novelty among Scabiosas! This piece is from the QIS series, meaning a quality, bred variety. But that's not all; the color shade is also great. Antirrhinum majus

The Bronze variant, compared to Bronze&White, does not have a white accent, but even so, it is the most beautiful of all colors. The color is salmon to coral orange. At the farm, we are always looking for interesting types and colors. And the Madame Butterfly Snapdragon is our darling! The flowers are double, and that takes the whole Snapdragon to a new level! The stems are not as massive and long as, for example, the Potomac and Maryland series, but they make up for it with their double flowers. We use them in bouquets, where they create beautifully large volume. One plant produces one larger and 4 smaller side stems.

Matthiola incana

Stock is a wonderful cut flower! It likes low temperatures, yet we grow three batches a year – two in spring and one in autumn. You harvest just one bloom per plant, but it is a really large, double one. Stock smells beautiful, almost intoxicating, and lasts a long time in a vase. The flowers are edible. The Katz series is not as susceptible to temperature changes, and is generally easier to grow for beginning gardeners. However, this comes at the cost of thinner stems and a lower percentage of double flowers. Katz Apricot is the most beautiful shade of skin-tone apricot. All stocks produce some plants with double flowers and some single. The ratio is different for each series. Katz has 55-60% double-flowered plants. We therefore recommend growing a bit more. At our farm, however, we use the single ones too; they look super unique.

Cultivation
