Nostalgic Cottage Collection
This collection presents a shapely, diverse foundation for creating a perennial bed with the atmosphere of a countryside holiday. It is suitable for a sunny spot with good soil and, at the start, the option for watering. Over time, these tried-and-tested, resilient perennials will manage even without your daily presence. A colorful base is formed by 'Summer Pastels' yarrow. If you have a favorite color, you can choose from our other cultivars. And then we have something of every color: Pink mallow for repeat flowering; blue, pink, or white sage of your choice. The vertical highlights are undoubtedly provided by hollyhock, fennel, and sweet pea, each in its own way. Sweet pea will appreciate support to climb on; you can choose white, pink, or a mix. Fennel with its airy umbels will serve as a gentle background for lower species and can easily be replaced by dill, for instance. Tall hollyhocks are a classic in country gardens. They are usually classified as biennials or short-lived perennials. If you prefer longevity, reach for those with simple flowers from the 'Spotlight' series, and if you are a lover of double flowers, you will surely forgive your favorites their impermanence. And daisies? A summer classic you simply cannot do without. Feverfew and foxglove round out the entire collection. You can pre-grow them from seeds or occasionally buy them directly at our nursery. For a spring effect, it is great to supplement this collection with daffodils and tulips. And if you desire an even more diverse selection of species, combine this package with our 'Fragrant Collection for Roses' or add aromatic herbs for utility.
When planning, count on an average of six to seven perennials per m², depending on the soil quality in your garden and your intentions. In nutritious and sufficiently moist soil, perennials will grow faster and the distances between them can be larger to start with; in poorer conditions, it will be better to plant them more densely. The time you can dedicate to bed maintenance will also be a deciding factor.
With our collection, you can work creatively and adapt it to your needs and your garden. In the basket, you can easily adjust plant counts and choose appropriate species and cultivar substitutes. For example, if you are already growing some of the perennials in this collection and only need to supplement your bed, you can keep only the selected species in your basket. Conversely, when shopping in autumn, you can take advantage of available bulbs and order the complete collection, including spring bulbs and alliums, which will ensure your bed has plenty of flowers in both spring and summer.

Most daffodils have a bright orange or deep yellow center, but lately, more muted pastel colors have become increasingly popular. The Palmares daffodil is exactly the hit you've been looking for if you want something a little different. We explore every powdery, salmon, and apricot-colored daffodil we can get our hands on, and this cultivar absolutely charmed us. Although it is a simple daffodil, its center is made up of beautifully ruffled petals in a soft peach shade. Thanks to this detail, the entire flower has an unexpectedly rich appearance, softened by pure white outer petals. From the large bulbs you receive from us and plant directly into the soil, strong flowers will emerge in the spring. During April and May, these thirty to forty-centimeter-tall beauties will brighten up any sunny or semi-shaded spot in your garden. Palmares is a long-lived perennial and stands out in group plantings. Daffodil Shrike
The Shrike narcissus draws attention from a distance with its unusual flowers, which combine pure white with warm shades of orange. The flowers gradually transition to a richer apricot color, and as the bloom ages, the color fades into softer apricot tones. The central petals are distinctly wavy and ruffled. Occasionally, they even reach the very edge of the flower or playfully alternate with the white petals, creating a rich and fluffy appearance. The plant reaches a height of about forty centimeters and will brighten up any spring flower bed during April and May. Its pleasant scent reliably attracts the first spring bees and other pollinators. In the garden, this narcissus stands out both in large groups and in combination with other spring bulbs or lower perennials. The bulb you receive will grow into a healthy plant that does not need support and is resistant to common diseases. Mountain garlic (or German garlic) is an undemanding yet very valuable allium for flower beds. Its leaves remain beautifully green throughout the season until well into winter. It sprouts early in spring, filling empty spaces in the beds with its foliage. This is followed in July and August by light purple flowers. It is suitable for rock gardens and container growing. And although its stems are not very long, it is also excellent for cutting.

The 'Brilliant' prairie mallow is a charming short-lived perennial that resembles miniature hollyhocks with its flowers and brings a romantic touch to the summer garden. Its homeland is the sunny plains and meadows of North America, so it will also grow best in full sun in your garden. We send customers mature potted seedlings, which simply need to be transplanted into well-drained, loamy, and sufficiently humous soil. Caring for it is very easy and can be effortlessly managed even by beginners. During the summer, it needs regular watering, and the only things you need to watch out for are slugs and the possible appearance of rust on the leaves. However, the plant is highly frost-resistant and will survive the winter without problems down to minus twenty-eight degrees. From June to September, it forms tall, straight stems heavily laden with tiny flowers. These reliably act as a magnet for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies, providing them with a rich pasture. An interesting fact is that these flowers are completely safe and even edible, so you can use them to liven up summer salads or desserts. In flowerbeds, the prairie mallow perfectly complements classic combinations with roses, but it also fits perfectly into wilder plantings in the company of ornamental grasses. It grows to a height of around one meter and does not need any support. If you like to decorate your home with fresh flowers, prairie mallow stems are great for cutting and look beautiful in summer bouquets. The Dalmatian Rose cultivar brings an unmistakable charm to gardens with striking pink flowers on sturdy stems. Foxglove is a native species of Central Europe, seeking out moist meadows and forest glades. We have prepared a mature seedling in a pot for you, which you can easily transplant to the flowerbed. It suits sun and partial shade, and will most appreciate ordinary loamy and well-drained soil. It forms a basal rosette of leaves and in spring sends up stems up to one hundred and twenty centimeters tall. As a short-lived perennial, it self-seeds in a suitable location, so you will not lose it. The flowers bloom during May and attract bees, butterflies, and bumblebees from afar. Tree mallow 'Bredon Springs' is literally a magnet for the eyes and for beneficial insects in your garden. This massive, shrub-like growing perennial, native to the western Mediterranean, does not deny its southern temperament and loves sunny locations with well-drained, loamy soil. It stands out with an incredibly long blooming period, tirelessly producing a flood of large, deep pink flowers resembling hibiscuses from June until the end of the summer holidays. The inflorescences consist of striking lipped flowers, which are a huge attraction for bees and bumblebees. Sky Dance has light blue flowers.

Common fennel is an imposing aromatic perennial that brings an unrepeatable veil effect into the garden. It originally hails from the Mediterranean, where it grows in sunny places. Therefore, it also prefers full sun and well-drained loamy soil here. You will receive a grown seedling in a pot from us, which you simply transplant into the flower bed, spacing them sixty centimeters apart. It grows to over a meter tall and is cultivated for its finely divided leaves in green to bronze shades, but it does not form bulbs. In summer, yellow-green umbels appear, acting as a magnet for bees and other pollinators. The entire plant smells of anise, and both its leaves and flowers are edible.
