Oriental Poppy Royal Wedding
The Oriental poppy originates from the Caucasus, Turkey, and Iran, where it grows on rocky slopes and dry meadows. It blooms with large bowl-shaped flowers on tall stems. Like all poppies, for use in bouquets, we harvest them as soon as the buds color up and "crack". Additionally, we briefly (for about 20 seconds) sear the ends of the stems with a flame and immediately place them in cold water. Then they last in a vase for 4 days. The strikingly hairy and large leaves die back shortly after flowering, and the plant must rest until spring to gather strength. A portion of the leaves sprouts again in late summer. Therefore, it is advisable to plant other perennials in close proximity that sprout later and can draw attention to themselves during the poppy's pause. Royal Wedding flowers have white petals with a dark burgundy spot in the center of the flower.

Cultivation
Fenykl obecný miluje teplo a preferuje humózní a na živiny bohaté půdy a slunné polohy. Ideální je pro něj plné a horké slunce. Půda by měla být především hlinitá a dobře propustná, aby u rostliny v zimě nezahnívaly kořeny. Jelikož od nás obdržíte krásnou a silnou vzrostlou sazenici, můžete ji rovnou vysadit na záhon. Optimální spon je šedesát centimetrů, což odpovídá zhruba dvěma až třem rostlinám na metr čtvereční. Tento velkorysý prostor zaručí dostatek světla i výbornou cirkulaci vzduchu, a podpoří zdravý růst této impozantní trvalky dosahující výšky 120 až 150 centimetrů. Při výsadbě pamatujte, že fenykl tvoří hluboký kůlový kořen a hůře snáší pozdější přesazování, vyberte mu proto trvalé místo.
Zálivka by měla být spíše mírná, fenykl po prokořenění zvládá sucho mnohem lépe než těžkou a trvale přemokřenou půdu. Během prvních týdnů po výsadbě ale dbejte na pravidelný přísun vody. Pro hnojení bohatě postačí přidat kvalitní kompost při samotné výsadbě, žádné další chemické přikrmování rostlina během sezóny nevyžaduje. Často se ptáte na pěstování v květináči nebo na terase. Fenykl lze v prostorné nádobě úspěšně pěstovat, jen je potřeba zajistit opravdu silnou vrstvu drenáže na dně. Počítejte také s tím, že v omezeném prostoru bude substrát rychleji vysychat, takže bude vyžadovat o něco častější zálivku než ve volné zahradě. Na zimu pak květináč obalte jutou proti promrznutí kořenového balu.
Během léta nevyžaduje žádnou složitou údržbu a obrovskou výhodou je, že netrpí absolutně na žádné choroby a obloukem se mu vyhýbají i škůdci. Pěstování je tak zcela bez stresu i pro začátečníky. Nepotřebuje ani žádnou oporu. V červenci se rozvinou nádherné okolíky, které lákají opylovače a dají se využít k sušení. Mrazuvzdornost je vynikající, zvládá teploty až do -28 °C, takže nepotřebuje zimní přikrývku. Staré stonky s uschlými květenstvími na záhoně ponechte, vytvoří úžasný zimní efekt. Seřízněte je těsně nad zemí až brzy na jaře. Přestože se řadí mezi krátkověké trvalky, na vhodném místě se spolehlivě přesévá a v zahradě vám vydrží dlouhé roky.

The cultivar Caradonna stands out with a long flowering period and dark, almost black-purple stems with tiny purple flowers and dark purple bracts. A valuable garden and medicinal perennial, originally from North America. It blooms in summer with dark purple-pink flowers. The spiky flower discs are an irresistible lure for butterflies. Lasts 7–10 days in a vase. After plucking the petals, the stems with the central discs can be dried or used in fresh bouquets as an interesting element. Rubinstern is very similar to the Magnus cultivar; the petals are darker and firmer. As they fade, they gradually pale and droop downwards.

Gaura is a clump-forming perennial native to Texas and Louisiana. Here, it behaves more like a short-lived perennial.
