Cosmos Kiiro
The Kiiro cultivar represents an unusually charming variant of the very popular classic Cosmos. Its flowers continuously shine with unusual shades of pastel yellow and white color, making it an exceptional feature for any summer garden. The plant forms airy small bushes with thread-like leaves and reaches an impressive height of 60 to 120 centimeters. From June to September, it produces an incredible flood of flowers that unerringly attract plenty of pollinators to the garden. In garden design, it is excellently applied in mixed flower beds in full sun or in light partial shade with medium watering. Due to its height and the fragility of the stems, it is advisable to think about early support. Cosmos are prized in floristry because they add a unique airiness to bouquets. Moreover, they willingly self-seed in the flower bed for the next season. Starting to grow this annual from seeds is easy even for novices. Plan your sowing from April to July. Always cover the seeds with a thin layer of substrate. They germinate willingly and very quickly, usually within 4 to 8 days. Pinch the seedlings in time to create a bushier plant.

Statice is a classic from grandma's garden, but also an evergreen of dried flowers. We grow statice by the hundreds! It is incredibly useful in bouquets as filler material and even undried lasts a long time in a vase. Once all the florets on the stem bloom, statice no longer wilts and is suitable for wreaths, corsages, boutonnieres. QIS Pastel is a beautiful sample of colors in tones of blue, violet, lavender and pink. One plant produces at least 15 stems.
For drying, we harvest statice at the stage when the stem under the flower is firm and the entire inflorescence has bloomed. Just hang them upside down, in a dry and ventilated place, out of sunlight.

Příprava na výsev: Krásenka Kiiro je nesmírně oblíbená a nádherně kvetoucí letnička, se kterou bez sebemenších problémů dosáhne úžasných pěstitelských výsledků i naprostý začátečník. Na výběr máte hned ze dvou osvědčených způsobů pěstování ze semínek. Tím prvním je klasické předpěstování v sadbovači, se kterým můžete bez obav začít již v průběhu měsíce dubna. Druhou, o něco jednodušší variantou, je přímý výsev rovnou na záhon, který je ideální provádět od května do července, jakmile definitivně pomine riziko jarních mrazíků. Pěstování z drobných semínek je zcela bezproblémové, rostlina roste překvapivě rychle a velmi brzy na vaší zahradě vytvoří nádherné keříky se vzdušným, až nitkovitým olistěním.
Péče v sadbovači: Při oblíbeném předpěstování doma nebo ve skleníku vložte do každé buňky sadbovače jedno až dvě semínka. Je opravdu velmi důležité je vždy zasypat tenkou vrstvičkou kvalitního substrátu, protože semena krásenek vyžadují k úspěšnému startu spíše tmu. Pokud jim následně zajistíte stabilní a příjemnou teplotu kolem 18 až 22 °C, vyklíčí vám doslova před očima, většinou se tak stane už za pouhých 4 až 8 dnů. V samotném sadbovači si sazeničky pobudou jen velmi krátce, obvykle postačí přibližně 2 až 4 týdny. Aby nebyla výsledná krásenka vytáhlá a příliš křehká, velmi doporučujeme ji už v této rané fázi růstu zaštípnout. Díky tomuto jednoduchému kroku se rostlina krásně rozvětví.
Stanoviště a zálivka: Až přijde ten správný čas, přesazujte vaše pečlivě předpěstované sazenice na finální venkovní stanoviště do optimálního sponu 20 až 30 centimetrů. Vždy jim vyberte vhodné místo nejlépe na plném slunci nebo v lehkém polostínu, kde budou dlouhodobě nejšťastnější a vytvoří nejvíce poupat. Zálivku udržujte pouze střední, protože krásenky rozhodně nepotřebují trvale přemokřenou půdu. Během extrémních letních veder ale naopak velmi ocení pravidelný a vydatnější přísun blahodárné vláhy. Rostliny tohoto unikátního pastelového kultivaru dorůstají běžně výšky 60 až 80 centimetrů a jejich stonky mohou být náchylnější na zlomení. Určitě se proto vyplatí instalovat dostatečnou oporu dříve, než rostliny plně narostou.
Kvetení a údržba záhonu: Během hlavního období kvetení, které trvá vytrvale od června až do podzimu, můžete rozkvetlé květy pravidelně stříhat do domácích váz. Tímto průběžným řezem navíc aktivně podpoříte rostlinu v tvorbě dalších a dalších poupat. Dávejte si také dobrý pozor na obvyklé a nepříjemné zahradní škůdce. Zejména mladé a křehké rostlinky silně lákají všudypřítomné slimáky a plzáky, později v sezóně se pak na listech a stoncích mohou objevit mšice. Na samotném konci léta můžete záměrně nechat několik květů na rostlině dozrát. Krásenky se totiž velice rády a ochotně na záhonu samy vysemení, čímž vám spolehlivě zajistí voňavou radost i v následující zahradnické sezóně.

Cornflower Tall Double Blue Boy
The blue cornflower is an absolute classic of our fields and meadows, which probably needs no lengthy introduction. However, the 'Tall Double Blue Boy' variety brings something extra. Compared to its wild relatives that we see along roads, it boasts rich flowers in an unmistakable, deep blue shade, sometimes with a purple tone. You can hardly imagine anything more meadow-like. Thanks to its strong stems growing up to eighty centimeters tall, this annual is perfectly suited for cutting, adding true rustic charm to bouquets. But its use doesn't end in the vase. The flowers keep their fantastic color even after drying!
At weddings, we loved using them in flower crowns and corsages, where they have excellent stamina!
The petals are edible. They serve perfectly as an original garnish for summer salads, desserts, or festive cakes. Moreover, in the garden, it functions as a reliable magnet for bees and bumblebees, who simply go crazy for its nectar.

Especially in the warm springs of recent years, they bloom quickly, so we sow several batches 14 days apart just to keep up with the harvest.
