Perennials, Grasses, and Bulbs Collection

Little Woodland Garden

A selection of plants designed for humus-rich and well-drained soil in light shade. It contains perennials that appreciate watering and a spot protected from the hot afternoon sun. Throughout the season, they demand attention with their variety of shapes and the variability of their flowers and leaves—and in the case of Cimicifuga or Phlox, their fragrance as well. We intentionally didn't overdo the flower colors in our selection, leaving room to choose a primary color and the plants that will dominate the bed. You can complement this basic selection with more colorful cultivars of Astrantia and Aster. The collection contains plants that appreciate a cooler and more humid environment, making them well-suited for flowerbeds on the north and east sides of the house. The selected cultivars are among the less vigorous of their kind, so they can also be used for containers and larger pots on semi-shaded balconies and terraces. All of them can be harvested for cutting and will harmonize perfectly in a bouquet. And grasses? We used them here too, choosing delicate woodland species. Luzula nivea will bloom as early as spring with tiny white flowers, and Deschampsia will conjure up a woodland atmosphere with airy green blossoms that will transition into golden tones as summer progresses. And even though we account for the need for regular watering, the collection includes reliable perennials that won't be defeated by an occasional lack of moisture. You can plant Alchemilla, Aster divaricatus, and Deschampsia even at the edges of the bed that dry out faster. We usually associate bulbs with sunny flowerbeds. Our tip for partial shade is Hyacinthoides. You can choose white, pink, or blue, and they can also be complemented by the edible Allium triquetrum. When planning, count on an average of six to seven perennials per m², though it always depends on the soil quality in your garden and your intentions. In nutrient-rich and sufficiently moist soil, perennials will grow faster, and the distances between them can be larger at first; in poorer conditions, it is better to plant more densely. The time you can dedicate to garden maintenance will also be a deciding factor. Our collection allows you to work creatively and adapt it to your needs and your garden. You can easily adjust plant counts and appropriate species or cultivar substitutions in your cart. For example, if you already grow some of the perennials from this collection and just need to supplement your flowerbed, you can keep only your chosen species in the cart. Conversely, when shopping in autumn, you can take advantage of available bulbs and order the complete collection including spring bulbs and Allium, which will ensure your garden has plenty of flowers in both spring and summer. Show full description

Lady's mantle Irish Silk, Loukykvět

Alchemilla mollis

Alchemilla mollis, known as lady's mantle, is an indispensable perennial for anyone who wants to bring harmony and softness to the garden. Its home is the moister environments of mountain meadows and light forests, making it a very adaptable plant that will survive even severe frosts without problems in our climate. The 'Irish Silk' cultivar is prized for its vitality and abundant blooming, where clouds of tiny, yellow-green flowers float above clumps of gray-green leaves. It is precisely this neutral color that can work wonders in a flower bed – it softens overly sharp contrasts between other flowers and beautifully unifies the entire composition. Besides its ornamental function, lady's mantle also has practical uses. Thanks to its clumping growth and ability to quickly fill in, it is ideal for edging pathways or as an underplanting beneath taller shrubs and roses. Water droplets catch on its leaves, creating a magical spectacle in the garden. If you enjoy making bouquets, you will love lady's mantle as versatile filler greenery that matches almost anything. It will last beautiful for about ten days in a vase, and its inflorescences can also be easily dried without losing too much of their color or shape. Moreover, it is a magnet for pollinators, and its young leaves are even edible, so it also finds use in a natural kitchen.

Daffodil Precocious, Loukykvět
Fragrant

Narcissus

The Precocious narcissus will reliably brighten up your garden in the spring with its elegant and original color combination. Its simple, pure white petals create a perfect contrast with the deep salmon-colored ruffled center. The flowers appear during April and May on sturdy stems that grow to a height of about forty to forty-five centimeters. The entire plant looks very polished and brings fresh dynamics to the waking spring garden. Moreover, these early flowers serve as a welcome attraction for the first bees and other pollinators. In the garden, this narcissus works well in more formal flower beds as well as in naturalistic plantings. It looks excellent alongside early-blooming perennials or smaller bulbs, where its striking centers nicely break up the uniform greenery. At the same time, it is an excellent choice for lovers of cut flowers. Thanks to its strong stems, which do not break and do not need support, it stays fresh in a vase for a surprisingly long time. You will receive top-quality bulbs of the largest available size from us. In our opinion, it is simply a reliable piece for every flower bed.

Astilbe simplicifolia

Delicate decorative, long-lived shade-loving perennials with pinnate leaves and magnificent feathery inflorescences. They originate primarily from East Asia, but also from eastern North America. Jacob's Ladder White Pearl, Loukykvět

Polemonium caeruleum f. album

The White Pearl Jacob's ladder presents an elegant yet very resilient perennial that overwinters without problems in our conditions. If you have a spot in the garden that is not explicitly dry, Jacob's ladder will reward you with vital growth and abundant blooming. Its leaves are divided and arranged so regularly that they resemble the rungs of a ladder. This is where its common name, Jacob's ladder, comes from.
