Cambridge cranesbill is an indispensable perennial for anyone looking for a reliable and beautiful ground cover plant. It originally arose by crossing mountain species from the region of southern Europe and the Balkans, and therefore it is naturally very hardy. It will thrive wonderfully in sun and partial shade and is content with regular, well-drained, and loamy soil. It quickly forms dense carpets of aromatic green leaves, which remain green throughout the season in milder winters. The customer will receive a grown seedling in a pot from us, which just needs to be transplanted straight to the prepared spot in the garden. Upright stems with tiny flowers start to grow from the dense foliage from May to July. The Lohfelden cultivar stands out with delicate white flowers decorated with interesting pink veining. It is excellent as a border for walkways or underplanting beneath taller shrubs. Although the plant grows to a height of around thirty centimeters, its flowers are very well suited for cutting into a vase. The cranesbill is completely undemanding, does not suffer from diseases, and easily handles even severe frosts.

You will get an already grown seedling in a pot from us, which you simply transplant straight into the flowerbed in sun or partial shade. It is ideal to plant the plants about half a meter apart. Here it will soon form a dense clump of green leaves, from which sturdy stems up to ninety centimeters tall emerge, and they do not need any support.
Although it is a short-lived perennial, it will make up for everything with its incredible persistence in blooming. Unlike other avens, the Totally Tangerine variety starts its blooming season a little later, but in return, it will delight you without a break from May to September. The semi-double flowers also gradually transition into a deep salmon to dark peach color and are a literal magnet for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. In a flowerbed, it functions excellently as a filler plant, nicely connecting other perennials with its neutral structure.
You will also enjoy the blooming avens at home. It is excellently suited for cutting into summer bouquets. We recommend cutting the stems when a quarter to half of the flowers on the branch are already open. They will then last about a week in a vase and gently liven up any arrangement. Although it is not suitable for drying, it will do a lot of work in the flowerbed even through winter, when its foliage and remains of stems create an interesting winter effect under frost or snow.

Kakost kantabrijský k vám dorazí jako krásně prokořeněná sazenice v květináči, kterou můžete rovnou vysadit na trvalé stanoviště. Této nenáročné trvalce se bude nejlépe dařit na slunci i v lehkém polostínu. Velkou výhodou je její mimořádná přizpůsobivost, protože se spokojí s běžnou, dobře propustnou a hlinitou půdou. Výborně snáší i sušší místa, takže si najde své uplatnění například jako podsadba pod vyšší keře nebo stromy, kde jiné rostliny často trpí nedostatkem vláhy. Díky svému původu z horských oblastí jde o velmi odolný druh, který spolehlivě zvládne pěstovat i úplný začátečník.
Při výsadbě na zahradní záhon doporučujeme dodržet spon kolem třiceti centimetrů, což odpovídá zhruba osmi až dvanácti rostlinám na jeden metr čtvereční. Rostliny se rychle rozrůstají a brzy vytvoří hustý, souvislý koberec zelených listů, které po promnutí velmi příjemně voní. Tento hustý porost navíc přirozeně potlačuje nežádoucí růst plevele. Pokud chcete kakost pěstovat v nádobách nebo truhlících na terase, je to vynikající volba. Stačí na dno květináče nasypat drenážní vrstvu pro odtok přebytečné vody a použít kvalitní substrát, aby kořeny zbytečně nezahnívaly.
Během zahradnické sezóny vás kakost potěší nejen krásnými květy vhodnými k řezu, ale také svou absolutní bezúdržbovostí. Je to spolehlivá a dlouhověká trvalka, která je přirozeně bez chorob a škůdců, takže nevyžaduje žádné chemické ošetřování. Od května do července navíc její květy fungují jako obrovský magnet na včely a další užitečné opylovače. Po hlavním období kvetení můžete celou rostlinu mírně seříznout a odstranit odumřelé listy. Tímto jednoduchým zásahem podpoříte tvorbu nových, svěže zelených listů a udržíte trs v perfektní kondici.
S příchodem podzimu a zimy si s touto rostlinou nemusíte dělat vůbec žádné starosti. Kakost kantabrijský je plně mrazuvzdorný až do velmi silných mrazů kolem -28 °C a na záhoně nevyžaduje žádnou speciální zimní ochranu. V mírnějších zimách navíc jeho aromatické listy zůstávají na rostlině a poskytují zahradě velmi pěkný zimní efekt. U rostlin pěstovaných v nádobách pouze dbejte na to, aby květináč v zimě nestál ve vodě. Zamrznutá voda v misce by mohla způsobit nevratné poškození citlivějších kořenů.

It differs from other calamints with felted leaves by its record flowering length, stiff and shiny leaves, and also a larger number of flowers that do not form seeds and are therefore maximally durable. Sometimes sold under the cultivar name 'Triumphator'.

They stand out against the darker background of shrub groups and will also be grateful for their partial shade. The Czech Perennial Association chose autumn Anemones as the perennial of the season for 2022. They last 7 days in a vase. Whirlwind is a historical variety bred in 1887 in the USA. It has a semi-double pure white flower, often with inner twisted petals, and compact, strictly upright growth. The flowers are very durable.
