This resilient natural species has its original distribution area in the Croatian Biokovo mountains, where it had to adapt to harsher conditions, so it will easily handle frosts reaching minus twenty-eight degrees here. In the garden, it will benefit most from partial shade or full sun and standard well-draining loamy soil. As a versatile groundcover perennial, it quickly overgrows empty spaces and brings an extra bonus, as its aromatic foliage does not drop in milder winters. The flowers appear on upright stems from May to July, and the plant does not suffer from diseases or pests. The flowers are delicately white with a pink tinge and are adorned with striking purple stamens, which reliably attract bees. Kakost kantabrijský k vám dorazí jako krásně prokořeněná sazenice v květináči, kterou můžete rovnou vysadit na trvalé stanoviště. Této nenáročné trvalce se bude nejlépe dařit na slunci i v lehkém polostínu. Velkou výhodou je její mimořádná přizpůsobivost, protože se spokojí s běžnou, dobře propustnou a hlinitou půdou. Výborně snáší i sušší místa, takže si najde své uplatnění například jako podsadba pod vyšší keře nebo stromy, kde jiné rostliny často trpí nedostatkem vláhy. Díky svému původu z horských oblastí jde o velmi odolný druh, který spolehlivě zvládne pěstovat i úplný začátečník.
Při výsadbě na zahradní záhon doporučujeme dodržet spon kolem třiceti centimetrů, což odpovídá zhruba osmi až dvanácti rostlinám na jeden metr čtvereční. Rostliny se rychle rozrůstají a brzy vytvoří hustý, souvislý koberec zelených listů, které po promnutí velmi příjemně voní. Tento hustý porost navíc přirozeně potlačuje nežádoucí růst plevele. Pokud chcete kakost pěstovat v nádobách nebo truhlících na terase, je to vynikající volba. Stačí na dno květináče nasypat drenážní vrstvu pro odtok přebytečné vody a použít kvalitní substrát, aby kořeny zbytečně nezahnívaly.
Během zahradnické sezóny vás kakost potěší nejen krásnými květy vhodnými k řezu, ale také svou absolutní bezúdržbovostí. U rostlin pěstovaných v nádobách pouze dbejte na to, aby květináč v zimě nestál ve vodě. Zamrznutá voda v misce by mohla způsobit nevratné poškození citlivějších kořenů.

A very adaptable and undemanding plant, it grows in clumps and spreads via runners. Cutting back after the first bloom encourages a new set of flowers. Harvest for bouquets when the tiny flowers are fully open. It lasts 10 days in a vase. Terracotta features ochre, shades of orange and yellow, and gray-green foliage.

Calamint
An undemanding and modest perennial that blooms with a large number of tiny flowers. It blooms for a record-breaking length of time throughout late summer and autumn. It forms smaller, compact, airy bushes that release a minty-spicy scent. The thyme-like flowers attract bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. It will look good among roses as well as in naturalistic steppe beds, perhaps with lower grasses. This calamint is generally more vigorous. It differs from other calamints with felted leaves by its record flowering length, stiff and shiny leaves, and also a larger number of flowers that do not form seeds and are therefore maximally durable. Sometimes sold under the cultivar name 'Triumphator'.

It is an excellent food source for bees. It lasts 7 days in a vase. Schneehügel blooms white.

Russian sage Little Spire
Perovskia are sparsely branched subshrubs, originating from areas ranging from Afghanistan to Tibet. They grow in open, sunny, rocky, and stony habitats. Their white-felted shoots and grayish aromatic leaves are striking. They fit well in sunny flower beds with other drought-loving perennials, where they create interesting structures even in the winter months. Little Spire is a smaller cultivar suitable even for pots with a soil volume of 7 liters or more.
