Cornflower Tall Double Blue Boy, Loukykvět

Centaurea cyanus

The blue cornflower is an absolute classic of our fields and meadows, which probably needs no lengthy introduction. However, the 'Tall Double Blue Boy' variety brings something extra. Compared to its wild relatives that we see along roads, it boasts rich flowers in an unmistakable, deep blue shade, sometimes with a purple tone. You can hardly imagine anything more meadow-like. Thanks to its strong stems growing up to eighty centimeters tall, this annual is perfectly suited for cutting, adding true rustic charm to bouquets. But its use doesn't end in the vase. The flowers keep their fantastic color even after drying! At weddings, we loved using them in flower crowns and corsages, where they have excellent stamina! The petals are edible. They serve perfectly as an original garnish for summer salads, desserts, or festive cakes. Moreover, in the garden, it functions as a reliable magnet for bees and bumblebees, who simply go crazy for its nectar.

Peony Poppy Black, Loukykvět

Papaver paeoniflorum

Dark burgundy color is always trendy for wedding floristry. At the turn of spring and summer, large full flowers are missing. The last ranunculus fade and there is a lot of time left before the first Dahlias bloom. At our farm, it was always a struggle to find beautiful full and large flowers for bouquets at that time. But we succeeded! We filled the vacuum with China asters and peony-type poppies. These poppies reliably replace the peony, ranunculus, and Dahlia. You just have to keep in mind that they don't last long in bloom and need a little care to hold in a bouquet. We harvest a cracked bud, scald the ends of the stems for a few seconds in water, and let them finish blooming in a vase.

Tulip Pink Impression, Loukykvět

Tulipa

Fragrant flowers in an enticing strawberry-pink shade make the Pink Impression cultivar a true star of the spring months. We have been growing Impression family tulips since the very beginning and we swear by them because they reliably form the foundation of the garden. We consider them to be among the most beautiful simple tulips of all, and they always delight us with their strong growth. Their long stems bear perfectly shaped chalices that open during April and May. The deep pink color pairs excellently with white or blue spring flowers in mixed perennial beds. From a distance, the flowers attract bees, for whom they provide an enticing stop after the winter. These tulips do not require any support and hold their shape steadily. The straight stems make them easy to arrange into bouquets, in which this variety looks very cheerful and clean. It will bring you a lot of joy at home in a vase.

Allium roseum, Loukykvět

Allium roseum

Allium roseum comes from the sunny Mediterranean, where it grows naturally in dry steppe communities. Green leaves sprout from the bulbs in early spring, and by the end of May, delicate star-shaped flowers begin to open on thirty to forty-centimeter-tall upright stems. They are arranged in approximately seven-centimeter-wide inflorescences in a beautiful light pink shade. With their delicate fragrance, they act as a reliable lure for bees and other beneficial pollinators. In gardens, Allium roseum looks absolutely magical in the company of drought-tolerant ornamental grasses and various herbs, to which it adds lightness and color. It is a low-maintenance perennial that naturally retreats back into the bulb after flowering in the summer to gather strength for the following year. You can freely harvest its edible flowers to garnish food or for bouquets. Freshly cut stems can keep you happy in a vase for a good two weeks.

Tulip Neglige, Loukykvět

Tulipa

The Neglige tulip is an extraordinary fringed cultivar that is a bit deceptive at first glance. Initially, it appears somewhat understated in the spring flower bed, but as its pure white petals begin to fully open to the sun, the edges start to color into rich shades of fuchsia and pink. The flowers are also adorned with striking, frayed edges that give the whole plant a very playful and original appearance. It grows to a height of about thirty to forty-five centimeters, and its smooth stems are tastefully complemented by classically shaped, deep green leaves. It definitely attracts attention in the garden and makes for an interesting feature that you simply won't overlook during the spring. In addition to its ornamental function in flower beds, this tulip works perfectly in combination with other bulbous plants or lower-growing flowering perennials, where it beautifully brightens the edges of paths. If you enjoy creating spring bouquets and arrangements, you will certainly appreciate its suitability for cutting. In a vase, these fringed and gradually coloring flowers stay fresh for a long time and will delight any observer. During April and May, when in full bloom, it also acts as a useful attractant for the first spring pollinators.

On sturdy stems, it grows to a height of about forty to fifty centimeters and brings joy with its flowers during April and May. Because it is a frost-hardy bulb, it can easily withstand deep frosts. In spring compositions, it pairs perfectly with other types of bulbs or lower-growing early spring perennials, adding a soft pastel touch. If you enjoy creating spring arrangements, Cabanna will definitely not disappoint you. Its sturdy stems and long-lasting flowers are made for cutting into a vase, where they create a unique impression and bring a true spring atmosphere into your home.

Purple Allium, Loukykvět

Allium atropurpureum

Allium atropurpureum originally arrived from the sunny regions of the Balkans. At first glance, it captures attention with its exceptionally dark, deep burgundy color, which acts as a perfect contrast in the garden to lighter perennials and ornamental grasses. During May and June, striking semi-spherical inflorescences composed of tiny star-shaped flowers bloom on sturdy stems reaching a height of sixty to ninety centimeters. They look beautiful, emit a pleasant fragrance, and attract bees, bumblebees, and other pollinators from a distance. After flowering, the plant gradually retreats into the ground, so it is ideal to combine it with species that will unobtrusively fill its space throughout the summer. The flowers also stand out in bouquets, where they stay fresh for many days. You can also dry them or leave them in the flower bed over winter, as their snow-covered silhouettes create a magical spectacle. Furthermore, the flowers are edible and make a great decoration for dishes.

Allium Miami, Loukykvět
New
Largest bulbs

Allium

Allium 'Miami' is among the most popular ornamental bulbous plants. The 'Miami' cultivar excels in its extraordinary color, sturdy growth, and height of 80 to 100 centimeters. During May and June, it creates semi-spherical inflorescences in dark violet to purple-red tones. Compared to classic round alliums, it has a looser structure, which gives it a highly attractive, naturalistic look. Its striking heads harmonize perfectly with simple green leaves, and the entire plant is also pleasantly aromatic. In flower beds, it acts as a great vertical element that you can easily combine with ornamental grasses and smaller sun-loving flowers. The flowers act as a magnet for bees and bumblebees and will surprise you with their edibility – they make an original garnish for open-faced sandwiches or summer salads. Thanks to their sturdy, straight stems, Allium is excellent for cutting into fresh bouquets. It retains its eye-catching appearance for the rest of the year, whether you choose to dry the inflorescences or leave them in the garden as decoration for winter frosts and snow. You will receive top-quality bulbs from us, fully prepared for immediate planting.

Cultivation

Sweet pea 'Spencer White Ensign' is a climbing annual that will reward you throughout the summer with a profusion of delicate flowers in white shades, with an intense fragrance.
As this plant requires specific care, it is more suitable for experienced gardeners. Seedling preparation takes an average of 6 to 8 weeks. You can start sowing either in the autumn during November and December for very early flowering, or traditionally during January-February. Soak the seeds in water overnight before sowing. They germinate best at stable temperatures between 16 and 20 °C, with the first green sprouts appearing above the surface in 7 to 14 days.
For sowing, choose a 9x9 cm pot; sweet peas need plenty of space right from the beginning and do not tolerate root disturbance when transplanted. Sow 2 to 3 seeds per pot and be sure to cover them with a layer of substrate, as the seeds need darkness for proper germination. Keep the substrate moist but not waterlogged. Once the seedlings have grown and formed a nice small plant, it is important to pinch them back in time. This will encourage branching and result in a bushier, denser plant full of flowers.
Transplant the seedlings to their outdoor location only once the frosts have passed and the soil has warmed up slightly. Choose a location in full sun or partial shade and plant with 10x20 cm spacing. Since this variety climbs to a height of 100 to 250 cm, it is important to provide it with sturdy support, such as a tensioned net, trellis, or poles to climb on. Sweet peas require regular, moderate watering to prevent the soil from drying out. They bloom from May, and if you remove faded flowers, they can continue to bloom until the beginning of August. All parts of this plant are poisonous and inedible.
Harvest – Harvest the flowers ideally in the morning hours. Choose those that still have unopened buds at the tips. You can harvest just the shorter stems with flowers, but the longer vines with leaves are also excellent for floristry. They create an irreplaceable texture in arrangements and bouquets! Sweet pea flowers last only a few days (approx. 4-5) in a vase. To extend their vase life, we recommend letting them hydrate for 4 hours in a silver solution (silver thiosulfate) after harvest.

The information given is based on our experience, please use it as a guide only. Times may vary depending on the season, climate, location, sowing and transplanting dates and possibly also the conditions in the greenhouse/greenhouse. We always recommend testing how the plant performs in your conditions. Please do not take this as a guarantee.

Cornflower Tall Double Red Boy, Loukykvět

Centaurea cyanus

Everyone knows classic field cornflowers, but the 'Tall Double Red Boy' variety brings a completely different spectacle to the garden. It is a very unusual shade of deep raspberry, which we fell in love with immediately after one plant accidentally bloomed among our blue cornflowers last year. The richly double flowers measure approximately four centimeters in diameter and grow on stems up to eighty centimeters tall. The silvery gray-green foliage gives the whole composition a delicate look that beautifully softens the surrounding planting. The raspberry cornflower stands out best in natural-looking flower beds, where it pairs perfectly with ornamental grasses, daisies, or white-flowering annuals. Throughout the summer, it serves as a plentiful feast for bees and bumblebees. Lovers of fresh arrangements love using it in colorful summer bouquets, where its unconventional color immediately catches everyone's eye. It works just as well for drying into dry decorations that will remind you of warm days even during the cold months. Moreover, it is a plant with edible flowers, which you can easily use to decorate festive cakes or summer drinks.

Vaccaria Pink Beauty, Loukykvět

Saponaria vaccaria

Saponaria vaccaria, or cow soapwort 'Pink Beauty', is a reliable annual that brings a romantic and airy element to summer flower beds. It easily makes up for its unconventional name with a rich profusion of tiny, pastel-pink flowers that bring a sense of lightness to the garden. These appear on sturdy stems sixty to ninety centimeters tall during the summer months, from June to September. The delicate flowers not only look beautiful and soften the surrounding plantings, but they also act as a magnet for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, which will naturally enliven your garden. For healthy growth, cow soapwort appreciates a bright location, but it can grow in light shade without any problems. It looks very elegant in the garden, and thanks to its structure—reminiscent of baby's breath—it combines perfectly with more robust types of flowers, for which it makes a delicate background. You can confidently cut three to four richly branched stems from each plant. They will bring great joy even if you simply place them in small vases in your living room. Cow soapwort grows and blooms very quickly from seeds, which in practice means that it also fades a bit faster. If you want to enjoy its delicate pink flowers in the bed and in the vase for as long as possible, it is worth sowing the seeds in stages. You can perform direct sowing from February to May in several consecutive phases. Even complete beginners can thus have fresh cut flowers available throughout the season.

Originally from the Mediterranean, it immediately catches the eye with its delicate foliage, which creates a fluffy green cloud. From May to August, striking blue flowers peek out from it. It grows to a height of between fifty and one hundred centimeters, making it easy to create an eye-catching structure in the flower bed. The flowers act as a reliable attractant for bees and bumblebees. Nigella is a spring beauty, but its seed pods are also great for harvesting, meaning it will last in the garden well into summer. These original, inflated seed pods are a sought-after material for florists. Fresh flowering stems beautifully liven up summer bouquets in a vase, while the dried pods perfectly complement autumn decorations, as they retain their shape for a long time.

Cornflower Tall Double Black Boy, Loukykvět

Centaurea cyanus

The flowers appear in the summer months from June to August and become a huge attraction for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. Larkspur QIS White, Loukykvět

Delphinium consolida

In floristry, they are suitable for wedding bouquets and for drying. For a perfect cut, you must be quick and harvest the stems before all the buds have fully opened.
