Tulipa
'Neglige' tulip is an ideal choice even for beginner gardeners, as it requires no complex care. It thrives best in a sunny location or in partial shade, where its flowers acquire the most beautiful fuchsia and pink coloring. The foundation of success is the right soil, which should be loamy, rich in humus, and above all, well-drained. Permeability is key, as bulbs have a tendency to rot in waterlogged soil. If you have heavier clay soil in your garden, we recommend adding some sand or fine gravel to the bottom of the planting hole for better drainage. Before planting, keep the bulbs in a dry, cooler, and dark place so they do not start to sprout prematurely or dry out. Planting takes place in the autumn, ideally in the months of September, October, or November, before the soil is frozen. Plant the bulbs at a depth of 10 to 15 centimeters, always with the tip pointing upward. To create a lush and naturally appearing display, maintain a spacing of 10 to 15 centimeters between individual plants, which corresponds to roughly fifty to seventy bulbs per square meter. As this is a variety with large bulbs, it is worth giving them enough space. After planting, it is good to water the bed slightly so the bulbs can root more easily before the arrival of the first frosts. The plant is 30 to 45 centimeters tall and has sturdy stems, so it does not require any support. If you want to cut the flowers for a vase, you can do so without worry. Cutting also prevents the formation of seeds, which unnecessarily exhausts the bulb. It is important, however, to leave all leaves on the bed until they have completely yellowed and dried out. The green leaves use photosynthesis to draw nutrients back into the bulb, which will ensure beautiful flowers for the next year.
