Perennial, bulb, and annual seed collection

Lemon tones for peonies

An exotically colorful and lush collection of perennials for sunny spots with good soil. Thanks to the variety of shapes and tone-on-tone coloring, it can be used with peonies, but also stands perfectly on its own. It contains species that bloom in sync with peonies, while others will bloom earlier or later in the summer. Let yourself be surprised! When planning, count on an average of six to seven perennials per m², depending on your soil quality and your specific goals. In nutrient-rich and sufficiently moist soil, perennials will grow faster and spacing can be wider to start; in poorer conditions, it is better to plant more densely. The amount of time you can dedicate to garden maintenance will also be a deciding factor. You can work creatively with our collection and tailor it to your needs and your garden. In your cart, you can easily adjust plant quantities and choose appropriate species or cultivar substitutions. For example, if you already grow peonies and just need suitable perennial companions, you can simply keep only the perennials in your cart. During autumn shopping, you can take advantage of available bulbs and order the complete collection, including narcissi and alliums, which will ensure your bed is full of flowers throughout spring and summer. A big bonus is the selection of seeds. It consists of proven annual species that are easy to grow so that they bloom at the same time as the peonies. You can either direct-sow them directly into your perennial bed or grow them separately to harvest for bouquets. Show full description

Narcissus Sir Winston Churchill, Loukykvět
Fragrant

Narcissus

The Sir Winston Churchill daffodil has rightfully earned the title of king among daffodils. This unmistakable cultivar blooms a little later, usually during April and May, filling your garden with a strong and very pleasant fragrance. On sturdy stems that grow to a height of around fifty centimeters, you will not find just one flower, but a cluster of several smaller ones. Elegant creamy-white outer petals are perfectly complemented by a rich, double-flowered center in soft orange tones. From the green leaves grows a spring splendor that reliably attracts bees and other early pollinators. You will receive quality large bulbs from us, which will easily grow into richly flowering clumps in a sunny or partially shaded bed. In the garden, it complements earlier bulbs and sprouting perennials perfectly. Thanks to its sturdy stems and lack of need for support, it is an ideal choice for cutting. It stays fresh in a vase for a long time, and its intoxicating scent will fragrance any interior.

Chinese Forget-Me-Not Mystery Rose, Loukykvět

Cynoglossum amabile

Although correctly it is Cynoglossum amabile, on the farm we don't call it anything other than forget-me-not! Compared to the classic water forget-me-not that we all know, this species has sturdy and long stems perfectly suited for arranging. The color is light pink with greyish stems and buds. Each plant produces 6-8 stems and if you let some finish blooming and ripen, the seeds are easy to collect.

Lady's Mantle Robustica, Loukykvět

Alchemilla mollis

Lady's mantle 'Robustica' will bring freshness and harmony to your flower beds with its bright green leaves and a flood of tiny flowers. In the wild, it can be found in damp meadows and by streams, and even in the garden, it is very hardy and vigorous. Its main advantage is its decorative leaves with fine hairs, which hold water droplets after rain or in the morning – an effect that has fascinated gardeners for centuries. The 'Robustica' cultivar lives up to its name with its upright growth and strong structure, growing up to 60 cm tall and requiring no support. In flower beds, it plays an important role as a connecting element. It is often planted as an edging for walkways or as a companion plant for roses and peonies, providing them with a calm, green background. In addition to its ornamental function, it is also useful – it attracts pollinators and its leaves are edible. If you like to be creative, you will appreciate it in cut bouquets, where it stays fresh for about ten days. It is equally well suited for drying; just harvest it in full bloom and hang it up, so it reminds you of summer even in the winter months.

Feverfew Baya, Loukykvět

Tanacetum parthenium

Bred feverfew, the inflorescence consists only of tubular florets, i.e., a center without ray florets or petals. Baya is a commonly grown species in Holland and sells great at the flower exchange. It is therefore professional seed, but don't worry, we tested it and it can be grown both outdoors and in a polytunnel; both work perfectly. Baya has oval-cut flowers with a line in the middle; the color is creamy white.

Coreopsis Moonbeam, Loukykvět

Coreopsis verticillata

If you are looking for a delicate and long-blooming plant for full sun, whorled tickseed is a great choice. The basic species originates from North America, and here it thrives best in a sunny spot and well-drained, rather drier loamy soil. Although it is a short-lived perennial, with the right care and a well-chosen location, it can bring joy for several years. A distinctive feature of this species is its rich foliage of very tiny leaves, which form low, about forty-centimeter-tall bushes. After transplanting from the pot, the mature seedling is perfectly suited for the edges of flower beds or mixed drought-tolerant compositions, where it beautifully softens the overall look. In addition, the plant is fully frost-hardy, requires no special care, and is free from diseases. The 'Moonbeam' variety stands out with countless smaller, creamy-yellow flowers. These appear in mid-summer and continue to decorate the garden until early autumn, providing rich pasture for pollinators. You can easily cut the delicate stems with flowers to bring home. They will add an informal meadow touch to bouquets and will maintain their freshness in a vase for about seven days.

Mullein Sixteen Candles, Loukykvět

Verbascum chaixii

Mullein is a native European perennial that brings a piece of wild nature's magic to gardens. In the wild, you will most often find it growing on sunny, rocky hillsides and drier grassy spots, where it withstands a lack of water well. Thanks to this origin, it is a very undemanding plant, whose cultivation even a complete beginner can easily manage. In the garden, it will do best in full sun in well-drained and rather sandy soil, where it will not suffer from waterlogging. It produces striking, over a meter tall stems full of vibrant flowers, bringing necessary height and firm structure to mixed perennial beds. Even though it is classified among short-lived perennials, it grows reliably in a sunny spot and seamlessly handles frosts below minus twenty degrees. During May and June, the thick stems are covered with a flood of bright yellow flowers. For bees, bumblebees, and plenty of other beneficial pollinators, mullein is a huge attraction and a rich source of food. If you enjoy making bouquets from your own garden, you will certainly appreciate that it is perfectly suited for cutting into summer vases, where it brings a bit of meadow relaxation. In addition, you can let the faded, sturdy stems dry and use them for winter decorations or other floral creations. The 'Sixteen Candles' cultivar stands out with a beautiful detail in the form of striking, purple-fuzzed stamens that decorate the center of each flower. These form an interesting contrast to the green to gray-green felted leaves. You will receive an already nicely grown seedling from us, which you can simply transplant into your bed and immediately watch how it thrives.

Peony Coral Charm, Loukykvět
New

Paeonia

Peonies are valuable in gardens for their large and impressive flowers. They are long-lived perennials for patient gardeners. It takes them several years to grow to full beauty and for you to see abundant flowering. Therefore, a blooming peony in the very first year after planting is more of an exception, certainly not the rule. Besides time, it needs the right conditions to flower. Check out our growing guide. Herbaceous garden peonies are one of the longest-bred garden plants, and most cultivars originate from Chinese and medicinal peonies, which have long been part of monastery gardens. Today, we combine them with perennials, grasses, and bulbs. However, we always give them plenty of space in the flowerbed. The Coral Charm peony has dark coral-colored buds. They open into large semi-double flowers. Their color gradually transitions from bright pink, salmon, and peach to cream. Potted peonies can be planted from spring to autumn.

You will receive a well-rooted seedling in a pot from us, which just needs to be transplanted. The leaves grow in dense clumps, forming a nice ground cover and offering an interesting winter effect. Moreover, the cup-shaped little flowers act as a magnet for pollinators. With its height of around fifty centimeters, it is suitable for the edges of flower beds. Catmint Dawn to Dusk, Loukykvět

Nepeta grandiflora

Large-flowered catmint comes from the Caucasus and Eastern Europe, where it naturally grows in open meadows and pastures. It is a vigorously and uprightly growing clumping perennial that will bring a pleasant aromatic scent to the garden. It thrives best in full sun or light partial shade, in well-drained loamy-sandy soil. It is an absolutely undemanding plant that does not suffer from diseases or pests, requires no support, and playfully handles even severe frosts down to -34 °C. Therefore, even complete beginners can easily manage its care. The Dawn to Dusk cultivar stands out with its delicate flowers in shades of light and old rose. In the garden, it grows to a height of about one meter and reliably attracts bees and other pollinators. It is excellently suited for flowerbeds as a traditional companion to roses, but it also fits beautifully into wilder meadow compositions with ornamental grasses. It blooms profusely from June to September. After the first wave of blooming, we recommend cutting the plant back, which will encourage further growth and the catmint will bloom once more. Furthermore, its flowers are edible and you can successfully cut them for summer bouquets.

False indigo Pink Truffles, Loukykvět

Baptisia Decadence

Baptisia originates from North America, belongs to the legume family, and resembles the lupine in appearance. Unlike it, however, it does not suffer from fungal diseases and does not taste as good to slugs. Besides the blue flowers, the large pods are interesting, decorating the plant long after flowering. North American Indians used Baptisia roots to disinfect wounds and lower fever, and leaves to dye fabrics. Patience is most important with Baptisia; it takes some time to fully establish and create a massive root system adapted for surviving long periods of drought and fires. Then it is very long-lived.
