Catmint Dawn to Dusk
Large-flowered catmint comes from the Caucasus and Eastern Europe, where it naturally grows in open meadows and pastures. It is a vigorously and uprightly growing clumping perennial that will bring a pleasant aromatic scent to the garden. It thrives best in full sun or light partial shade, in well-drained loamy-sandy soil. It is an absolutely undemanding plant that does not suffer from diseases or pests, requires no support, and playfully handles even severe frosts down to -34 °C. Therefore, even complete beginners can easily manage its care. The Dawn to Dusk cultivar stands out with its delicate flowers in shades of light and old rose. In the garden, it grows to a height of about one meter and reliably attracts bees and other pollinators. It is excellently suited for flowerbeds as a traditional companion to roses, but it also fits beautifully into wilder meadow compositions with ornamental grasses. It blooms profusely from June to September. After the first wave of blooming, we recommend cutting the plant back, which will encourage further growth and the catmint will bloom once more. Furthermore, its flowers are edible and you can successfully cut them for summer bouquets.

You will receive a grown seedling in a pot from us, which you simply transplant straight into the flower bed, where it will very soon form a neat, richly branched bush reaching a height of around fifty centimeters. It is an absolutely undemanding plant that is not bothered by diseases or pests, so its cultivation can be easily handled even by complete beginners. In the garden, hyssop finds wide application. It fits perfectly into steppe-character gravel beds and beautifully complements roses or lower ornamental grasses. During the summer until early autumn, the Roseus variety will delight you with a flood of tiny flowers in a delicate light pink shade. These flowers, as well as the narrow green leaves, emit a pleasant spicy fragrance and reliably act as a huge lure for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. Since all parts of the plant are edible, you can also use hyssop in the kitchen as a herb to flavor dishes or prepare a medicinal tea from it.

Při výsadbě na záhon dodržujte spon 50 centimetrů, tedy zhruba tři až čtyři rostliny na metr čtvereční. Takto vznikne krásně zapojený porost s dobrou cirkulací vzduchu. Tuto trvalku můžete s velkým úspěchem pěstovat také v nádobách a truhlících na balkonech. V takovém případě použijte klasický zahradnický substrát smíchaný s pískem pro lepší propustnost a nezapomeňte na odtokové otvory a pravidelnější zálivku.\n\nPéče o šantu v průběhu roku je opravdu minimální. Rostlina vyžaduje jen běžnou vláhu a bez potíží si dokáže poradit i s kratšími obdobími sucha. Hnojivům se raději vyhněte velkým obloukem. V příliš humózní a na živiny bohaté půdě totiž rostlina ztrácí svůj přirozeně kompaktní tvar, začíná rychle poléhat a museli byste jí zajišťovat nevzhlednou oporu. Šanta kvete krásně starorůžově od června do září. Velmi důležitým krokem v péči je letní řez. Poté, co první záplava květů odkvete, celou rostlinu radikálně sestřihněte. Nemusíte se toho vůbec bát. Zpětný řez rostlině neuvěřitelně prospěje, rychle vyžene nové čerstvé listy a brzy znovu a bohatě vykvete.\n\nVelkou výhodou této vytrvalé byliny je její absolutní odolnost vůči nepříznivým vlivům. Na záhoně vás nečekají žádné starosti se škůdci a bezpečně se jí vyhýbají i veškeré rostlinné choroby. Její zdravý a bujný růst vás bude těšit po celou sezónu, navíc svou výraznou vůní přiláká množství včel. Stejně bezproblémové je to s jejím přezimováním. Šanta je extrémně mrazuvzdorná a bez jakéhokoliv poškození snese kruté mrazy až do -34 °C. Na zimu ji proto nemusíte nijak přikrývat. Suché nadzemní části pouze nechte přes zimu stát, aby přirozeně chránily kořenový krček. Veškerou údržbu dokončíte až v předjaří, kdy všechny odumřelé stonky jednoduše sestřihnete nízko u země, čímž uvolníte místo pro nové rašící výhony.

A native wild perennial with a large distribution range from Europe to Siberia. Suitable for natural and wild plantings. It grows in meadows and dry grassy places. A very adaptable and undemanding plant, it grows in clumps and spreads via runners. Cutting back after the first bloom encourages a new set of flowers. Harvest for bouquets when the tiny flowers are fully open. It lasts 10 days in a vase. Terracotta features ochre, shades of orange and yellow, and gray-green foliage.

Calamint
An undemanding and modest perennial that blooms with a large number of tiny flowers. It blooms for a record-breaking length of time throughout late summer and autumn. It forms smaller, compact, airy bushes that release a minty-spicy scent. The thyme-like flowers attract bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. It will look good among roses as well as in naturalistic steppe beds, perhaps with lower grasses. This calamint is generally more vigorous. It differs from other calamints with felted leaves by its record flowering length, stiff and shiny leaves, and also a larger number of flowers that do not form seeds and are therefore maximally durable. Sometimes sold under the cultivar name 'Triumphator'.

The Czech Perennial Association chose autumn Anemones as the perennial of the season for 2022. They last 7 days in a vase. Whirlwind is a historical variety bred in 1887 in the USA. It has a semi-double pure white flower, often with inner twisted petals, and compact, strictly upright growth. The flowers are very durable.
