Paeonia
Peonies are valued in gardens for their large and impressive blooms. They are long-lived perennials for patient gardeners, taking several years to reach their full beauty and abundant flowering. Therefore, a peony blooming in the first year after planting is more of an exception than a rule. Besides time, they also need the right conditions to flower. Study our growing guide. Herbaceous garden peonies are among the longest-cultivated garden plants, with most cultivars originating from Chinese and medicinal peonies, which have long been part of monastic gardens. Today, we combine them with perennials, grasses, and bulbs. However, we always ensure they have enough space in the flower bed. Jacorma is a pink, late-blooming peony with an unmistakable bubblegum shade. It was bred in Holland, and its name is a combination of personal names: Jan, Cor, and Marie. Like all pink varieties, for floral use, we harvest it at a higher stage of bud maturity to ensure the flowers open well.
