Hellebore 'Pretty Ellen Spotted' is a beautiful variety with single white flowers dotted with burgundy red. The center with creamy stamens is further highlighted by a lime yellow-green coloration.

Avens Totally Tangerine will brighten any garden with its cup-shaped flowers in warm shades that resemble the color of ripe tangerines. The original botanical species of this cute avens originate from the mountainous regions of Chile, which is why it thrives best even in our conditions in well-drained, humus-rich, and loamy soil. It handles frosts down to minus twenty-eight degrees without problems, and even complete beginners can easily handle caring for it, as it does not suffer from diseases or pests. You will get an already grown seedling in a pot from us, which you simply transplant straight into the flowerbed in sun or partial shade. It is ideal to plant the plants about half a meter apart. Here it will soon form a dense clump of green leaves, from which sturdy stems up to ninety centimeters tall emerge, and they do not need any support.
Although it is a short-lived perennial, it will make up for everything with its incredible persistence in blooming. Unlike other avens, the Totally Tangerine variety starts its blooming season a little later, but in return, it will delight you without a break from May to September. The semi-double flowers also gradually transition into a deep salmon to dark peach color and are a literal magnet for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. In a flowerbed, it functions excellently as a filler plant, nicely connecting other perennials with its neutral structure.
You will also enjoy the blooming avens at home. It is excellently suited for cutting into summer bouquets. We recommend cutting the stems when a quarter to half of the flowers on the branch are already open. They will then last about a week in a vase and gently liven up any arrangement. Although it is not suitable for drying, it will do a lot of work in the flowerbed even through winter, when its foliage and remains of stems create an interesting winter effect under frost or snow.

Avens Mai Tai is a charming spring perennial that brings a romantic touch to the garden with its adorable cup-shaped flowers. You will receive a rooted seedling in a pot from us, which you just need to transplant into the flowerbed. Avens forms nice basal clumps of green leaves, which over time function as an excellent ground cover. Its growth is reliable and its care is downright undemanding, because the plant is not bothered by pests or diseases and withstands frosts down to minus twenty-eight degrees. It stands out best when you plant it in smaller groups about thirty centimeters apart. From May to July, richly branched stems bearing semi-double flowers with gently ruffled petals appear above the foliage. The Mai Tai cultivar, which was bred in the USA in 2005, is characterized by its amazing color variability. It blooms in peach tones with a pink tint and gradually transitions into more muted pastel, salmon, and apricot shades. Blooming avens is a huge attraction for insects, especially for butterflies. We cut the stems for a vase when roughly a quarter to half of the flowers on the stem are open. They will stay beautiful in water for approximately seven days and add lightness and movement to an arrangement. However, its flowers are not suitable for drying. Although it is more of a short-lived perennial, it will bring you a lot of joy in the flowerbed with its rich flowers and undemanding nature.

Catananche caerulea, commonly known as Cupid's dart, is a charming plant that will win you over with its lightness and airiness. Its scientific name refers to ancient Greek legends, according to which it was used in love potions; today, however, you will appreciate it more for its undemanding nature and unique appearance. It is excellently suited for natural-style gardens, gravel beds, and drought-tolerant plantings, where it beautifully complements other perennials or ornamental grasses. It grows up to ninety centimeters tall and, despite its height, needs no support. The flowers have a lavender-blue color with a darker center and toothed petals at the ends. Valerian is an important medicinal herb that has accompanied humanity with its effects for centuries. In nature, you will most often find it in damper meadows and light forests of Europe. Therefore, it will grow best for you in a sunny location with humus-rich and loamy soil. It handles our winters and frosts down to minus twenty-three degrees with ease. From us, you will receive a grown seedling in a pot, which you just need to transplant directly into the flowerbed, ideally with a spacing of sixty centimeters. Thanks to its unpretentiousness, valerian is ideal for beginners, though it occasionally attracts aphids. During the summer, it forms sturdy stems with green leaves reaching a height of up to one hundred and fifty centimeters. Tiny white and pink inflorescences bloom on them. The plant is highly aromatic and emits a specific scent favored by cats. The flowers are edible and reliably attract bees. Valerian is excellently suited for damper herb beds, where it willingly self-seeds. For bouquets, we collect the stems when the first little flowers open; they will last five days in a vase.

Cultivation
Čemeřice je nenáročná dlouhověká trvalka, kterou bez problémů zvládne pěstovat i úplný začátečník. Na zahradě jí vyberte místo v polostínu nebo stínu, ideálně pod korunami stromů nebo keřů, kde bude mít přirozenou ochranu. Nejlépe se jí daří v propustné, hlinité půdě, která je dostatečně bohatá na humus. Dodané sazenice vysazujte na vzdálenost přibližně 50 centimetrů od sebe, což odpovídá čtyřem až šesti rostlinám na metr čtvereční. Tento velkorysý spon zajistí dostatečnou cirkulaci vzduchu, čímž přirozeně zabráníte rozvoji houbových chorob, jako je šedá hniloba nebo černá skvrnitost.
Během sezóny vyžaduje rostlina střední zálivku. Udržujte půdu mírně vlhkou, ale dejte pozor na přemokření, které čemeřice špatně snášejí. Nejdůležitější zásah do rostliny přichází koncem zimy, těsně před tím, než se objeví první poupata. V tuto chvíli seřízněte a odstraňte všechny nevzhledné nebo poškozené loňské listy. Nové květy díky tomu mnohem lépe vyniknou. Odstřižené listy navíc vždy rovnou zlikvidujte a nedávejte je na kompost, zabráníte tím šíření případných chorob z předešlé sezóny. Přes léto pak čemeřice vytvoří nový, zdravý trs tmavě zelených kožovitých listů.
Tato trvalka je vysoce mrazuvzdorná a bez problému zvládne teploty klesající až k -28 °C, takže nevyžaduje žádnou speciální zimní ochranu. Přestože jde o velmi odolnou rostlinu, občas ji mohou potrápit škůdci. Na co si dát nejvíce pozor:
- Mšice: Pravidelně kontrolujte mladé výhony a první poupata.
- Slimáci a plzáci: Zejména na jaře mohou okusovat nové křehké listy.
- Lalokonosec: Vykusuje typické ornamenty na okrajích listů, nebezpečné jsou i jeho larvy u kořenů. Rostlina láká k prvním jarním květům brzké opylovače, takže v únoru a březnu vaši zahradu oživí včely. Všechny části rostliny jsou jedovaté, proto při manipulaci a řezu doporučujeme používat zahradnické rukavice. Pokud si rádi řežete květy do vázy, pamatujte na důležité pravidlo. Čemeřice ustřihněte až ve chvíli, kdy se uprostřed květu utvoří nápadné semeníky a květ vyzraje, dříve mají tendenci vadnout a stonky neudrží květ ve vzpřímené poloze.
Zákazníci se nás často ptají, zda je možné čemeřici pěstovat také v květináči nebo truhlíku. Dobrou zprávou je, že ano, ale má to svá specifika. Čemeřice tvoří hluboký a bohatý kořenový systém, takže potřebuje dostatečně velkou a hlubokou nádobu. Nezapomeňte na velmi dobrou drenáž na dně květináče a odtokový otvor, aby voda mohla po zálivce vždy volně odtéci. Použijte kvalitní humózní substrát s příměsí hlíny. V nádobě bude rostlina vyžadovat pravidelnější kontrolu vlhkosti, aby substrát úplně nevyschl, ale zároveň nesmí stát ve vodě. Takto pěstovaná čemeřice krásně ozdobí stinné terasy nebo vstupní prostory do domu právě v době, kdy většina ostatních rostlin ještě hluboce spí.

The inflorescences often appear as early as January and keep adorning the plant until March. It is one of the few plants that offer food for insects at such an early time. However, for a longer vase life, it is necessary to wait until the flowers mature slightly and seed pods start to form in the center; otherwise, they tend to wilt. Given its southern origin, we recommend protecting the plant with a covering of evergreen branches during freezing days without snow so that the leaves retain their decorative value until spring. Remember that the whole plant is poisonous.
