Muhly grass Ruby

A beautiful fine grass native to Oklahoma and Texas. It has narrow grey-green leaves. The flowers bloom in fluffy clouds of pink, creating the impression of a light haze over the flower bed. Beautiful in bouquets too.

A classic among the whites; we've been growing it on the farm for several years now. Coneflower is a perennial, but don't worry, it's grown from seeds quite simply. Even growing it on in a pot is a breeze! Coneflower is a great cut flower and reproduces nicely. We also recommend drying the central parts for winter arrangements.

The Barlow series is our favorite columbine because the flowers are double-flowered! We grow columbines on our farm as annuals, so we sow new ones every year. This saves space and we achieve longer stems. We grow part of the columbines in a polytunnel so we catch the harvest for Mother's Day, when flowers are scarce. Rose Barlow is a beautiful color combination where the flower centers are sweet pink and the outsides and stems are slightly purplish.

These beauties love heat, which is why we associate them mainly with late summer and early autumn. Scalding helps with vase life: dip freshly cut stems into 90°C water for 3 minutes and then immediately into cold water. One plant produces at least 5 stems. Cherry Brandy is a beautiful shade of dark wine.

Great news for all Snapdragon lovers! Finally, a new "open-faced" Snapdragon has appeared on the market, meaning an open flower instead of the classic Snapdragon "mouth". And the second piece of good news is that we immediately added it to our assortment! The Chantilly series of open-faced Snapdragons seems to be unavailable long-term, so we are glad to have a replacement for you. And it seems to be an even greater replacement. The stems are robust, the plants tall—for us, true cut-flower quality! And the list of good news doesn't end there, because Frappe Apricot is the most beautiful color that appeared in our beds in 2024! It blooms in colors of dusty yellow, a shade of sand, and the buds and lower parts of the flowers turn pink. And that is a bomb combination! The color is truly unprecedented, so it will make every arrangement and bouquet special. It goes great with both cool and warm colors. Our favorite combination was: Snapdragon Frappe Apricot, Feverfew, Sea Oats, and Rhodanthe Pierrot White.

Ammi likes low temperatures, so it is a purely spring and autumn beauty. It adds a fresh and airy effect to all bouquets, and the same applies to the garden bed. The flowers are delicate, composed of individual tiny florets resembling lace, which is why we use it instead of baby's breath. It finishes blooming faster, so we recommend succession planting.

Knautia macedonica is an abundantly and long-flowering undemanding perennial. Its wild form originates from the Balkans, where it grows in meadows and scrubland. It enchants in flower beds with slender, tall stems bearing pastel burgundy and pink flowers. Suitable for naturalistic sunny to semi-shady beds and meadow bouquets.

One plant produces one strong branching central stem with lots of little bells; after cutting, you can harvest a few more thin single-bell stems. Champion Levander is a soft violet shade so typical for bellflowers.

Poppies of the Champagne Bubbles series are perennials. For us, a great and affordable variant of Iceland poppies! Poppy Champagne Bubbles Yellow blooms in shades of fresh yellow. If we wanted to compare the Colibri and Champagne Bubbles series, the first difference is that Colibri are annuals. But the advantages of the Champagne Bubbles series don't end there—they are also more financially affordable than the Italian Colibri version, have better germination, the seeds are even directly treated for better germination. And we also promise ourselves they won't be sold out as often because they aren't bred in Italy, and thus communication and delivery times won't be so "Italian". But now the disadvantages: compared to Colibri, they don't have such large flowers, the stems are less robust, and some color variants are missing. But all in all, that makes them a great poppy!

A divine cocktail of sunset colors. From light champagne and apricot to salmon. The Strawflower is a classic from grandma's garden but also a staple for dried flowers. We love using them for weddings because they don't wilt. They are suitable for corsages, wreaths, and buttonholes. For drying, harvest flowers that are not yet fully open, when the yellow center is not yet visible. Also check the stem below the flower; it should already be firm, not 'rubbery'. Just hang them upside down in a dry, ventilated place out of direct sunlight.

Penstemon digitalis Mystica is a relatively robust and long-lived perennial with attractive bronze-purple foliage and white-violet flowers. The decorative spent flower heads continue to adorn flower beds well into winter. However, the plant can also be cut back after flowering to encourage new growth. The main difference between Mystica and Husker Red lies in the foliage. Mystica leaves should be more durable and visually attractive even after the first frosts. We recommend cutting back the Penstemon after flowering so it sprouts again. Lasts 5 to 7 days in a vase.

Cosmos are one of the most popular flowers on our farm. They resemble Daisies and customers love them. And now imagine that such a hit comes in a double-flowered version! Absolutely magnificent! A flood of flowers resembling cotton candy; the Bicolor pink variant is full of soft pink shades. Some blooms are cool pink and others are in a warm blush color. One plant produces at least 12 stems.

An interesting name and an unusual flower resembling baby's breath. The rich blooms on the stems invite you to divide them into several smaller vases to decorate a windowsill. It finishes blooming quickly, so we recommend succession planting. You will harvest 3-4 stems from a single plant.

Different textures and flower sizes fit into a flower bed. And Scabiosa is a great candidate! Small flowers about the size of a coin, straight stems with a basal rosette, and individual buds resembling beads. Gorgeous shades of dusty pink, salmon, strawberry, and raspberry.

'Grandiflorum' might suggest something large, but the opposite is true; Ammobium is one of the tiniest flowers we grow on the farm. The plant isn't very tall, maximum 45 cm, but each one will give you 10 to 15 stems with tiny white stars at the ends. Once opened, the flowers are bright yellow. The florets resemble a Strawflower and dry just as well. For drying, we recommend harvesting at the bud stage, but if you dry already opened yellow flowers, you get an interesting white-brown combination that is also worth it. It fits perfectly into wedding floristry, especially wreaths, because it doesn't wilt. For drying, we harvest it the moment the first flowers open. The yellow center of the flower shouldn't be too protruding yet. Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, out of direct sunlight.

You can't imagine anything more meadow-like! It is a terrible shame that it can only be grown at lower temperatures. The Tall Double series is a fuller-flowered Cornflower than the one we see along the roadsides. And Black Boy is a truly unique specimen. The color is dark burgundy to black.

Troika Orange is a shade of orange-red. We know it’s not a classic cut flower. But it fits perfectly in beds, has beautiful colors, and is edible, so we forgive it. Nasturtium flowers have stems 15-20 cm long. So they are suitable for arranging in containers, tying small posies, or as cake decorations. Our Nasturtiums are not climbing, but bushy.
