After the petals are picked, the stems with the central cones can be dried or used in fresh bouquets as an interesting element. White Swan blooms with milky white flowers with brown-orange centers. The petals are not spread out completely horizontally; they bend slightly downwards.

Penstemon digitalis 'Mystica' is a relatively robust and long-lived perennial with attractive bronze-purple leaves and white-purple flowers. The decorative spent flower spikes will adorn beds until winter. However, the plant can also be cut back after flowering to encourage new growth. The main difference between 'Mystica' and 'Husker Red' lies in the foliage. 'Mystica's' leaves should be more durable and visually more attractive even after the first frosts. We recommend cutting back Penstemon after flowering to encourage re-blooming. It lasts 5 to 7 days in a vase.

Gaura is a clump-forming perennial native to Texas and Louisiana. Here, it tends to behave more like a short-lived perennial. It combines beautifully with grasses, adding lightness and airiness to flower beds. It's an excellent food source for insects. Tiny, butterfly-like flowers bloom tirelessly from June until the first frosts. For bouquets, harvest as soon as the first two or three flowers open on the stem. Summer Breeze has an abundant display of white and pink flowers. It is robust and resilient.

Anemones belong to the same family as buttercups. Their elegant flowers on long, slender stems can enliven and brighten late summer and autumn beds. They stand out against a darker background of shrub groups and will also be grateful for their partial shade. The Czech Perennial Society chose autumn anemones as the perennial of the 2022 season. They last 7 days in a vase. Whirlwind is a historic variety bred in 1887 in the USA. It has semi-double pure white flowers, often with inner curled petals, and a compact, strictly upright growth. The flowers are very durable.

Perennials with palmate leaves and delicate flowers. In nature, they can be found in moist meadows or bright forests. They grow in clumps. Upright stems, suitable for cutting, branch out and bear small umbels of flowers. These are further emphasized around the perimeter by serrated bracts in the color of the flower with translucent green. They last 10–14 days in a vase.

The original species of this Speedwell (rozrazil) can be found in nature in moist meadows and along riverbanks. It is perfectly suited for cutting and in beds, depending on conditions, can be used in combination with roses or, conversely, in naturalistic plantings. It is a resilient and long-lived perennial. In a vase, it lasts about 7 days. Its slender spikes look especially beautiful in combination with the flowers of daisies or yarrow. An excellent food source for bees and butterflies. This is the white variant of the Skyler series, bred for cutting, with long flower spikes. It blooms in the first year and repeats flowering well in subsequent seasons.

Floristically valuable for its flowers with striking bracts, which are also perfectly suited for drying. It is a perennial sought after by ancient alchemists for the dew drops that appear in the leaf fans. Valuable for florists for its abundance of tiny greenish-yellow flowers. Important in beds for its ground-covering nature. It lasts 10 days in a vase.

Naturally growing from Southern Europe to Turkey and Central Asia, these are decorative and undemanding plants suitable for natural perennial gardens. Culver's Root is a perennial native to the eastern part of North America, where it grows in wet meadows and open woodlands. Its flowers, arranged in upright branched spikes, are impressive. These impressive perennials last about 7 days in a vase. 'Album' is more compact than the original wild species. It blooms with elegant pure white flowers with apricot-colored stamens. The buds are white-green.

This is a typical Mediterranean species that tolerates drought and heat well here, but not winter waterlogging. The wulfenii cultivar should be less sensitive to cold, but intolerance to winter waterlogging remains. Plant in protected areas, e.g., in front of a warm house wall in Mediterranean-style beds. Floristically, it is valuable for its greenery and early flowering. Lasts 7–10 days in a vase. Beware of the milky sap in the stems, which can irritate the skin.

Monardas, also known as bee balm, originate from the eastern parts of North America. They most commonly grow along roadsides, in shrubs, and at the edges of light forests. They are aromatic, melliferous plants, perfect for cutting and for culinary use. Good growing conditions are important to prevent powdery mildew. 'Beauty of Cobham' monarda is characterized by a striking contrast between purplish-violet bracts and delicate pink flowers. Planting in full sun will further enhance the purple hue of the leaves and stems. It is highly resistant to powdery mildew.

Hellebores are evergreen perennials that form slowly spreading clumps of leathery, dark green leaves. Stems typically bear four to five flowers. They bloom very early, in late winter and early spring. They are suitable for vases only after prominent seed pods form in the center of the flower and the flower matures. Before that, they tend to wilt, and the stems cannot hold the flower upright. All parts of the plant are poisonous. Queens White has beautiful single white flowers.

Hyssop, similar to lavender, is classified as a low woody subshrub. It can be used in similar types of plantings, with roses or in gravel beds of a steppe character. It also has culinary and medicinal uses. A great attraction for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. Sweet pink flower color.

False Mallow is a beautiful long-blooming perennial. Its inflorescence resembles miniature hollyhocks or mallow. It pairs well with classic rose combinations as well as wilder beds with grasses.
