Allium Globemaster

This Allium is probably the tallest natural species. It blooms from the end of May with dense, spherical purple flowers. The inflorescence usually has a diameter of 12–14 centimeters.

The bluebell is a beautiful bulbous plant originally from southwestern Europe, where it grows in light deciduous forests. Multiple leaves grow from the bulb, but only one flower stem. A tufted, upright growing grass. It sprouts very early. It is decorative due to its overall vertical habit and fine flower panicles, which bloom silvery-grey, turn yellow in summer, and transition to sandy beige. It decorates the garden until winter. You can plant it in mixed beds or use it as an element to rhythmically divide the space. Usable for bouquets and drying.

This originally wild and attractive species comes from southern Turkey and Syria. Its flowers are not as opulent as those of large-flowered varieties. They look like delicate pink-purple sparklers on long thin stems. In flower beds, they work well in steppe plantings. They are perfect for cutting, both fresh and dried. They last 14 days in a vase.

Despite efforts to breed the most resistant cultivars, it remains true that Phlox reacts extremely sensitively to climate and soil conditions, so we carefully pay attention to the correct choice of site. The Sweet Summer series includes cultivars bred for greater resistance to fungal diseases. Sweet Summer Ocean is a very special cultivar introduced to the market in 2012. It is characterized by the color variability of flowers during the day. In cool mornings, the flowers are blue; as temperatures rise, they fade, and by noon they transition to purple-pink.

Feather grass flowers capture attention in beds and bouquets with their lightness and delicacy. All feather grasses love full sun and dry, stony, well-drained soil. To look most natural in beds, it is good to plant them in loose groups of several pieces together with other drought-loving perennials and bulbs. Azure Allium originates from Eastern Europe, from the steppes stretching north of the Caspian Sea. Its sky-blue dense spherical flowers are 4 cm in diameter. It stands out in steppe beds with grasses. Beautiful in bouquets too. It lasts 14 days in a vase.

Jacob's Ladder is a native wild perennial grown in gardens as an ornamental plant since the 16th century. Its individual leaves are arranged remarkably regularly, hence its common name Jacob's Ladder. Harvest when one-third of the florets are open. It lasts 7 to 10 days in a vase. The cultivar White Pearl has pure white flowers with yellow stamens.

A beautiful lower grass valuable for its early sprouting and the long endurance of leaves well into winter. The flowers are rather inconspicuous, beige, and appear in the green clumps only later in summer and autumn. The leaf color is bright green. A great combination with species such as calamint, gaura, or oregano.

The Oriental poppy originates from the Caucasus, Turkey, and Iran, where it grows on rocky slopes and dry meadows. It blooms with large bowl-shaped flowers on tall stems. Like all poppies, for use in bouquets, we harvest them as soon as the buds color up and "crack". Additionally, we briefly (for about 20 seconds) sear the ends of the stems with a flame and immediately place them in cold water. Then they last in a vase for 4 days. The strikingly hairy and large leaves die back shortly after flowering, and the plant must rest until spring to gather strength. A portion of the leaves sprouts again in late summer. Therefore, it is advisable to plant other perennials in close proximity that sprout later and can draw attention to themselves during the poppy's pause. Royal Wedding flowers have white petals with a dark burgundy spot in the center of the flower.

Delicate, decorative, long-lived shade-loving perennials with pinnate leaves and magnificent feathery inflorescences. They originate primarily from East Asia, but also from eastern North America. They look best in mass plantings. Due to relatively late sprouting, it is good to combine them with early-flowering bulbs. Lasts 4–10 days in a vase. Harvest as soon as half of the inflorescence is in bloom. They are very sensitive to ethylene released from ripening fruit. Peach Blossom has soft pink flowers.

This species of sage originates from the steppe regions of Central and Eastern Europe. It forms abundantly flowering small clumps with straight upright stems. In beds, it looks best in groups. Traditionally, it is planted as a companion to roses due to the matching flowering time. However, it will look equally good in mixed drought-loving steppe plantings with grasses. It is an excellent food source for bees. It lasts 7 days in a vase. The cultivar Ostfriesland blooms with a strikingly dark violet-blue color.

Requires a sunny location, but tolerates slight partial shade. Once established, it handles drought well. Ordinary, well-drained garden soil is ideal. Iceland poppy flowers are single, slightly larger than annual common poppies, and also last longer in a vase. They appear throughout spring, sometimes even into September. The leaves are a fresh green colour and arranged in a basal rosette. The whole plant exudes a milky sap. Like all Poppies, harvest for bouquets as soon as the buds show colour and "crack". Gaura is a clump-forming perennial native to Texas and Louisiana. Here, it behaves more like a short-lived perennial. It combines beautifully with grasses and adds lightness and airiness to flower beds. It is excellent pasture for insects. Tiny flowers resembling small butterflies bloom tirelessly from June until the first frosts. For bouquets, harvest as soon as the first two or three flowers on the stem open. The pure white blooming Cool Breeze has no hint of pink like other varieties. The flowers have greenish-white stamens, and the buds are also greenish-white. It grows more compactly than other Gauras.

Hellebores are evergreen perennials that form slowly spreading clumps of leathery, dark green leaves. Stems usually bear four to five flowers. They bloom very early, as early as late winter and the beginning of spring. They are suitable for vases only after conspicuous seed pods form in the center of the flower and the flower matures. Before that, they tend to wilt and the stems cannot hold the flower in an upright position. All parts of the plant are poisonous. Hellebore Double Ellen Yellow Spotted has light yellow-green semi-double flowers with striking, dark wine-red spotting.
