Podzimní sasanky jsou nepostradatelnou součástí trvalkových záhonů, protože přebírají štafetu kvetení v době, kdy většina letních druhů již odkvétá a zahrada se začíná barvit do podzimních tónů. Původní botanické druhy rostou ve vlhčích půdách Číny a Japonska, což předurčuje jejich nároky na pěstování v našich podmínkách. Vyžadují propustnou, ale nevysychavou půdu bohatou na živiny, ideálně v polostínu pod stromy. September Charm je spolehlivá odrůda, která vás potěší velkými růžovými květy s nápadným žlutým terčem uprostřed. Květy na vysokých větvících se stoncích působí velmi romanticky a lákají poslední opylovače, zejména včely. Hodí se výborně k řezu do podzimních kytic, kde vydrží v dobré kondici zhruba týden. Sasanka September Charm je skutečným klenotem podzimní zahrady, který přináší záplavu růžových květů v době, kdy se většina ostatních trvalek pomalu ukládá k zimnímu spánku. Protože obdržíte již vzrostlou sazenici, můžete ji vysadit prakticky kdykoliv během vegetační sezóny, ačkoliv jaro a ranný podzim jsou ideální pro dobré zakořenění. Pro tuto rostlinu je naprosto klíčový výběr stanoviště – nejlépe se jí daří v polostínu, ideálně v toulavém stínu pod korunami vyšších listnatých stromů, což simuluje její přirozené lesní prostředí. Snese i slunnější místo, ale pouze za předpokladu, že bude mít neustále vlhkou půdu. Půda by měla být hlinitá, humózní a bohatá na živiny, s dobrou propustností. Těžké jílovité půdy, které zadržují vodu, mohou v zimě způsobit uhnívání kořenů, zatímco v příliš písčitých půdách bude rostlina trpět suchem.
Zálivka hraje při pěstování sasanek zásadní roli, obzvláště v prvním roce po výsadbě a během horkých letních dnů před násadou květů. Půda by neměla nikdy zcela vyschnout, proto doporučujeme okolí rostliny zamulčovat, což pomůže udržet potřebnou vlhkost u kořenů a zároveň dodá živiny. Co se týče hnojení, stačí rostlinám na jaře dopřát dávku kompostu nebo organického hnojiva. September Charm je vitální odrůda, která dorůstá výšky 80–100 cm, a velkou výhodou je její vynikající zdravotní stav – netrpí na choroby a škůdci se jí vyhýbají, takže nemusíte řešit žádné chemické postřiky. Na zahradě dodržujte spon výsadby zhruba 45 cm (3–5 rostlin na m²), aby měly trsy dostatek prostoru se rozrůst.
Péče o rostlinu během roku je nenáročná. Důležité je však vědět, kdy rostlinu stříhat. Nadzemní část ponechte přes zimu na záhoně. Teprve brzy na jaře, než začnou rašit nové lístky, seřízněte staré stonky těsně nad zemí. Rostlina je plně mrazuvzdorná (až do -23 °C), ale v prvním roce po výsadbě je vhodné ji na zimu přikrýt chvojím nebo vrstvou listí, zvláště v chladnějších oblastech (zóna 6a).
Pokud zvažujete pěstování v nádobách, je to možné, ale vyžaduje to zvýšenou péči. Vzhledem k výšce rostliny a jejím nárokům na prostor pro kořeny zvolte velký a hluboký květináč s dobrou drenáží. Substrát v nádobě vysychá mnohem rychleji než volná půda, proto budete muset v létě zalévat denně. Nezapomeňte také, že rostlina v nádobě je náchylnější na promrznutí, takže ji na zimu musíte buď zapustit i s květináčem do země, nebo nádobu důkladně obalit izolací. Na závěr jedno důležité upozornění: jako zástupce čeledi pryskyřníkovitých je celá rostlina jedovatá. Při manipulaci, zejména při řezu nebo dělení trsů, doporučujeme používat zahradnické rukavice, aby šťáva nepodráždila pokožku.

This species of sage originally comes from the steppe regions of Central and Eastern Europe. It forms profusely flowering small clumps with straight upright stems. In flower beds, it looks best in groups. Traditionally, due to the identical flowering time, it is planted as a companion to roses. However, it will look just as good in mixed drought-loving steppe plantings with grasses. It lasts 7 days in a vase. The cultivar Caradonna stands out with a long flowering period and dark, almost black-purple stems with tiny purple flowers and dark purple bracts. If we cut it back after flowering, it will bloom again in late August and September.

Fernleaf Yarrow originates from the Caucasus and Central Asia. Unlike Common Yarrow, it grows in clumps and is also suitable for drying. Cutting back soon after flowering encourages re-blooming. However, if you decide to leave the spent stems in the beds, you gain a perfect structure that remains impressive long into winter. The leaves of this species emit a typical bitter Yarrow aroma. It lasts 10 days in a vase.
