Meadow Sage occurs in our country primarily in warmer regions, especially in southern Moravia and northern and central Bohemia. It grows on sunny meadows, slopes, and along roadsides. The fragrant leaves form a basal rosette, from which several sparsely leafy, branched stems grow. The inflorescences consist of striking lipped flowers, which are a huge attraction for bees and bumblebees. Sweet Esmeralda has deep pink flowers.

Knautia macedonica is a profusely and long-blooming undemanding perennial. Its wild form originates from the Balkans, where it grows on meadows and in scrublands. Red Knight charms in flower beds with slender high stems that carry dark wine-colored flowers. It is suitable for naturally designed sunny to semi-shady beds and meadow bouquets.

Mallow is an undemanding native perennial with pleasantly scented pale pink flowers. Since ancient times, its leaves, flowers, and unripe seeds have been used as vegetables and herbs. In the 16th century, it was even considered a panacea. In flower beds, due to its rapid growth and development as well as rich flowering, it is perfectly suited for filling gaps in newly established plantings. It looks very effective already in the first season and grabs all the attention at a time when other perennials are still taking their time. The fragrant and delicate flowers are very suitable for cutting into vases and also attract bees. A beautiful pure white form of mallow, elegant in combination with roses or in drought-loving communities.

A versatile perennial suitable for both cottage and modern flower beds. It also works well in wild, naturalistic plantings. While its main charm lies in the cute flowers that appear in late spring, it is also valuable in beds for its early-emerging leaves. Gaura is a clump-forming perennial native to Texas and Louisiana. Here, it behaves more like a short-lived perennial. It combines beautifully with grasses and adds lightness and airiness to flower beds. It is an excellent food source for insects. Tiny flowers resembling small butterflies bloom tirelessly from June until the first frosts. For bouquets, harvest as soon as the first two or three flowers open on the stem. Siskiyou Pink is a beautiful variety with pink-red flowers on slightly arching stems. It is less hardy than the white-flowering varieties. The red-spotted leaves are also interesting.

Jacob's Ladder is a native wild perennial grown in gardens as an ornamental plant since the 16th century. Its individual leaves are arranged remarkably regularly, hence its common name Jacob's Ladder. Harvest when one-third of the florets are open. It lasts 7 to 10 days in a vase. The cultivar Blue Pearl has sky-blue flowers, just like the basic species.

A dense hemispherical shrub with smooth fresh green leaves that are lighter on the underside. Flowers in convex to hemispherical inflorescences with a diameter of 15–30 cm gradually change color from pale green and cream to pure white.

Gaura is a clump-forming perennial originally from Texas and Louisiana. Here it behaves more like a short-lived perennial. It combines beautifully with grasses and adds lightness and airiness to flowerbeds. It is excellent pasture for insects. Tiny flowers similar to small butterflies bloom tirelessly from June until the first frosts. Harvest for bouquets immediately as soon as the first two to three flowers open on the stem. Whirling Butterflies blooms with pure white flowers that gradually acquire a pink tinge. Buds are also usually pinkish. Characterized by compact growth and blooms profusely.

An interesting and perennial basil with shrubby growth and a woody stem. The leaves are aromatic and purple-burgundy. Flowers are purple. The taste and aroma differ from annual basils and are described as slightly more camphor-like, and do not disappear even after drying.

A South American species of verbena. Here, it is often used as an annual, but in mild winters, it can overwinter and propagate by self-seeding. Sturdy, airy stems beautifully soften perennial beds and make them special with their purple color. It beautifully complements steppe plantings with grasses and rose beds. Vanity is more compact than the original wild species. Thanks to shorter stems, it is suitable for growing in containers. The flowers are intensely colored.

A beautiful, delicate woodland grass with evergreen overwintering leaves and interesting white inflorescences. An interesting element for spring beds. The flowers are suitable for fresh bouquets as well as for drying.

The perennial Sweet pea resembles the annual spring Sweet pea in its flowers. Unlike it, however, it does not smell. It is very suitable for cutting and for growing on a support. Like the scented Sweet pea, it is poisonous.
