Baptisia minor

Baptisia Minor

Baptisia originates from North America, belongs to the legume family, and visually resembles lupine (lupinus polyphyllus). Unlike lupine, however, it does not suffer from fungal diseases and is not as palatable to slugs. Besides its blue flowers, its large pods are also interesting, decorating the plant long after flowering. Native American Indians used baptisia roots to disinfect wounds and reduce fever, and its leaves for dyeing fabrics. Patience is key with baptisia; it takes some time to fully establish itself and develop a robust root system adapted to survive long periods of drought and fires. After that, it is very long-lived. It was chosen as Perennial of the Year for the 2019 season. Minor is a shorter form suitable for smaller gardens. Show full description

Baptisia Decadence

Statice is a classic from grandma's garden and an evergreen for dried flowers. We grow hundreds of statice! It's incredibly useful in bouquets as a filler material, and even undried, it lasts a long time in a vase. Once all the small flowers on the stem have bloomed, statice no longer wilts and is perfect for wreaths, corsages, and boutonnieres. One plant produces at least 15 stems. For drying, we harvest statice when the stem below the flower is firm and the entire inflorescence has bloomed. Simply hang them upside down in a dry, ventilated place, away from direct sunlight.
