The dwarf aster 'Apollo' is an absolute classic of autumn gardens and will reliably light up even the gloomiest day with its bright white flowers. The original species comes from the eastern part of North America, where it inhabits bright places with naturally moister and nutrient-rich soil. In the garden, you will make it happiest in full sun in well-drained and rather loamy soil, which you should not let dry out completely for a long time. You will receive a well-rooted seedling in a pot from us, ready for immediate planting in its permanent location. 'Apollo' is a very undemanding perennial that will reliably stay in its place for many years and easily survive frosts well below thirty degrees. Thanks to its lower growth of around thirty to forty centimeters, it beautifully holds a cushion-like shape and does not require tying up. In ornamental compositions, it forms a perfect edging for paths or a transition element to taller species. The pure white flowers bloom gradually from late summer through all of September until October. They are a huge magnet for beneficial insects; bees and bumblebees love to stop on them from morning to evening. If you like decorating your home with living flowers, the aster will definitely please you. Its stems with open flowers are perfectly suited for cutting into vases and bring joy for many days, but you will not use it for drying. For healthy growth and abundant flowering, we recommend maintaining a spacing of thirty to forty centimeters so that air can freely flow around the plants. This serves as great prevention against powdery mildew, while in spring it is good to guard the young shoots against slug invasions.

Výsadba sazenice astry Apollo je skvělým krokem pro podzimní rozzáření vaší zahrady. Jelikož vám domů dorazí již vzrostlá a prokořeněná rostlina, můžete se ihned pustit do hledání ideálního stanoviště. Této dlouhověké trvalce vyhovuje nejvíce plné slunce a propustná, humózní, spíše hlinitá půda. Při sázení na záhon dodržujte vzdálenost třicet až čtyřicet centimetrů mezi jednotlivými kusy. Možná se vám bude zdát, že je to ze začátku moc místa, ale dostatečný spon je naprosto nezbytný pro dobrou cirkulaci vzduchu. Právě volné proudění vzduchu chrání rostlinu před houbovými chorobami, zejména před nepříjemným padlím. Astru můžete s úspěchem pěstovat i v dostatečně velkém květináči nebo truhlíku na terase. V takovém případě nezapomeňte na odtokové otvory, kvalitní substrát a pravidelnější přísun vody, protože v nádobách zemina vysychá mnohem rychleji než ve volné půdě.
Na jaře, když začnou rašit první zelené výhony, je potřeba zbystřit a rostlinu chránit před nájezdy slimáků a plzáků, kteří si na mladých lístcích rádi pochutnávají. Během léta pak myslete na pravidelnou zálivku. Astra má ráda stabilní mírnou vlhkost a neměla by dlouhodobě úplně vyschnout. Naštěstí se díky nižšímu vzrůstu drží při zemi, tvoří úhledné polštáře a nevyžaduje žádné vyvazování k opoře. Sem tam se mohou na listech objevit mšice, se kterými si však snadno poradíte včasným zásahem, například šetrným postřikem. Hnojení není nutné přehánět, postačí jarní dávka dobrého kompostu nebo pomalu rozpustného hnojiva, které rostlině dodá sílu pro bohatou násadu poupat.
Od srpna až do října se můžete těšit na čistě bílé květy, které jsou doslova magnetem pro opylovače a včely na nich uvidíte od rána do večera. Zaschlé stonky můžete ponechat na záhonu až do jara jako přirozenou ochranu, nebo je ostříhat už na podzim těsně nad zemí. Calamintha nepeta ssp. nepeta
Calamint
An undemanding and modest perennial that blooms with a large number of tiny flowers. It blooms for a record-breaking length of time throughout late summer and autumn. It forms smaller, compact, airy bushes that release a minty-spicy scent. The thyme-like flowers attract bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. It will look good among roses as well as in naturalistic steppe beds, perhaps with lower grasses. This calamint is generally more vigorous. It differs from other calamints with felted leaves by its record flowering length, stiff and shiny leaves, and also a larger number of flowers that do not form seeds and are therefore maximally durable. Sometimes sold under the cultivar name 'Triumphator'.

A very adaptable and undemanding plant, it grows in clumps and spreads via runners. Cutting back after the first bloom encourages a new set of flowers. Harvest for bouquets when the tiny flowers are fully open. It lasts 10 days in a vase. Terracotta features ochre, shades of orange and yellow, and gray-green foliage.

Russian sage Little Spire
Perovskia are sparsely branched subshrubs, originating from areas ranging from Afghanistan to Tibet. They grow in open, sunny, rocky, and stony habitats. Their white-felted shoots and grayish aromatic leaves are striking. They fit well in sunny flower beds with other drought-loving perennials, where they create interesting structures even in the winter months. Little Spire is a smaller cultivar suitable even for pots with a soil volume of 7 liters or more.

This species of sage originates from the steppe regions of Central and Eastern Europe. It forms abundantly flowering small clumps with straight upright stems. In beds, it looks best in groups. Traditionally, it is planted as a companion to roses due to the matching flowering time. However, it will look equally good in mixed drought-loving steppe plantings with grasses. It is an excellent food source for bees. It lasts 7 days in a vase. Schneehügel blooms white.
