Tropaeolum majus

Nasturtium Salmon Mousse

It is not a classic cut flower, we know. But it fits great in beds, has beautiful colors, and is edible, so we forgive it. Nasturtium flowers have stems 15-20 cm long. So they are suitable for arranging in containers, tying small posies, or as decoration on cakes. Our Nasturtiums are not climbing, but bush types. Salmon Mousse, as the name suggests, are shades of light and deep salmon. Show full description

Eryngium planum

An evergreen favorite at the flower market! Sea Holly is a perennial; it lasts for several years in the flowerbed and spreads beautifully. The "flowers" and leaves are slightly prickly; it does look like a miniature thistle after all. The stems and tops are silvery blue. And mature, bloomed Sea Holly doesn't wilt, making it great for drying, wreaths, and similar uses. For drying, harvest when the thistles are colored blue and the stem below the thistle is firm. Just hang them upside down in a dry, ventilated place, out of sunlight.

Larkspurs are spring beauties that are unmatched. But if you want to harvest them for cut flowers, you must be vigilant and harvest quickly before all buds open. Especially in the warm springs of recent years, they bloom quickly, so we sow several batches 14 days apart just to keep up with the harvest. Larkspur QIS Rose is an unusual shade of darker warm pink, fitting beautifully in combination with orange. From one plant you will harvest one thicker stem and 4-5 smaller side ones.

Cynoglossum amabile

Although correctly it is the Chinese hound's tongue, on the farm we don't call it anything other than forget-me-not! Unlike the classic water forget-me-not that we all know, this species has massive and long stems perfectly suited for binding. The color is a very fresh and distinct blue. Each plant produces 6-8 stems, and if you let some fade and ripen, seeds are easily collected.

Thin, strong stems and umbel inflorescences resembling dill at their ends. There are thousands of tiny flowers on each stem creating a veil or lace effect. It is a mixture of colors, where some flowers are pure white, but the majority are chocolate to burgundy with a touch of white.

Matthiola incana

Stock is a wonderful cut flower! It likes low temperatures, yet we grow three batches a year – two in spring and one in autumn. You harvest just one bloom per plant, but it is a really large, double one. Stock smells beautiful, almost intoxicating, and lasts a long time in a vase. The flowers are edible. The Katz series is not as susceptible to temperature changes, and is generally easier to grow for beginning gardeners. However, this comes at the cost of thinner stems and a lower percentage of double flowers. Katz Apricot is the most beautiful shade of skin-tone apricot. All stocks produce some plants with double flowers and some single. The ratio is different for each series. Katz has 55-60% double-flowered plants. We therefore recommend growing a bit more. At our farm, however, we use the single ones too; they look super unique.

Cultivation

PŘÍMÝ VÝSEV

Sejte přímo na záhon 2 týdny před posledními mrazy. 25-30 cm od sebe 1-2 cm hluboko, lichořeřišnice potřebuje tmu ke klíčení.

PŘEDPĚSTOVÁNÍ

Začněte 3-4 týdny před posledními mrazy, sejte do vyšších květináčů po 2 semenech 1-2 cm hluboko. Lichořeřišnice potřebuje tmu ke klíčení. Jakmile mají rostlinky dva opravdové lístky, můžete vyjednotit na 1 rostlinu na květináč. Přesazujte ven až po posledních mrazech.

Tato lichořeřišnice tvoří keříky, opora tedy není nutná.

Statice is a classic from grandma's garden, but also an evergreen of dried flowers. We grow statice by the hundreds!
