Meadow rue Splendide White is a charming long-lived perennial that brings lightness to the garden. It comes from western China, where it grows on mountain plains and in scrublands alongside other tall herbs. You will receive a mature seedling in a pot from us, which just needs to be transplanted into moister, humous, and well-drained loamy soil. It thrives in sun and partial shade, is completely undemanding, and survives even very severe frosts without problems. At first glance, it attracts with its tiny pinnate leaves, and from July to October, it blooms in loose panicles. The Splendide White cultivar stands out with significantly larger pure white flowers with pastel yellow stamens and a firm upright habit over a meter tall, which does not need any support at all. In the flowerbed, it creates a wonderful airy lace effect, and its flowers attract a large number of pollinators. It is perfectly suited for summer bouquets, to which it reliably adds volume. In a vase, freshly cut stems stay beautiful for a full seven days, but this flower is not suitable for drying. Although the plant is poisonous, it will become a wonderful garden decoration without the worry of diseases and pests.

A classic perennial of Czech gardens, although originally from North America. In nature, it grows in thickets among taller plants and naturally loses leaves on the lower part of the stem very early. Its bred cultivars also retain this characteristic. Therefore, we combine it in beds with suitable perennials that cover the lower parts well. The whole plant is roughly hairy. It is a hardy and long-lived perennial and resists powdery mildew well. Harrington’s Pink is a variety found in the wild; it has 2.5 to 3.5 cm large flowers of bright pink color with a yellow center. It belongs to the later-flowering varieties. It lasts 7 to 10 days in a vase.

Phlox, also known as garden phlox, is originally a perennial native to North America. It soon achieved great popularity in European gardens and has been systematically bred since the 19th century. It is a classic perennial for cutting into bouquets, where, in addition to colorful flowers, it also delights with a gentle fragrance. We harvest as soon as roughly half of the flowers in the inflorescence have bloomed; then it lasts up to 10 days in a vase. Despite efforts to breed the most resistant cultivars possible, it remains true that phlox reacts extremely sensitively to climate and soil conditions, so we pay careful attention to the correct choice of location. The original home of bleeding hearts is Korea and China, where they grow in light deciduous forests. They are classic garden perennials. Phlox, known as 'plamenka' in Czech, is originally a native perennial from the moister meadows and forest edges of North America. It soon achieved great popularity in European gardens and has been systematically bred since the nineteenth century. It is a classic garden perennial that brings a romantic mood and abundant floods of flowers to summer beds. The approximately one meter tall straight stems are adorned with deep green leaves and bear dense inflorescences on top from July to August. The Sternhimmel variety stands out with elegant small flowers with delicate color transitions in light purple and white. At the same time, the whole plant smells very pleasantly, which acts as a reliable magnet for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies from the wide surroundings.
Although phlox is very easy to grow and even complete beginners can manage the care, it pays to pay attention to the correct choice of location. We send customers already mature seedlings in a pot, which you can easily transplant directly into the garden. Here, phlox thrives best in a sunny to semi-shady location with loamy, humous, and well-drained soil. It is ideal to keep a spacing of about fifty centimeters when planting so that each clump has enough space to grow. They like plenty of moisture, and stable humidity is important to them. During severe drought, they can react sensitively and be more susceptible to powdery mildew, so they will welcome more abundant watering in the hot summer. Fortunately, you don't have to worry about pests; they avoid it. As for winter, you can throw your worries behind you, because the plant can handle severe frosts down to minus thirty-four degrees.
In ornamental beds, phlox stands out both individually in larger groups and in combination with other summer perennials or shorter ornamental grasses. Furthermore, it is an absolutely ideal plant for cutting into vases. It will lend your home not only beautiful pastel colors but also its unmistakable sweet scent. We recommend harvesting stems for bouquets when approximately half of the flowers in the main inflorescence are already fully open. If you provide them with clean water, they will reward you with extraordinary durability and will easily last ten days in a vase.

You will receive from us an already mature seedling in a pot, which you just need to transplant to the chosen spot. Here it will quickly form a massive clump with deeply lobed green leaves. The Astolat cultivar stands out with firm stems up to a meter and a half tall, which from June carry rich inflorescences of large pink flowers with a contrasting center. During summer, these flowers reliably attract bees, bumblebees, and other pollinators. After the first blooming, we recommend cutting the plant back, which will encourage another wave of blooming at the end of summer in August and September. Growing larkspurs requires a bit more attention, so it is better suited for more advanced growers. For them to stand out well and reach their full height, they need to be given enough space; the optimal spacing is around sixty centimeters. Do not forget regular fertilizing and copious watering, because in dry soil they can suffer and be more susceptible to powdery mildew. In spring, it is also important to protect the sprouting shoots from slugs and snails. However, the care invested will pay off richly. We often see them in the company of roses and peonies, with which they form a perfect romantic composition. The entire plant is poisonous, which is good to consider when choosing a planting site. On the other hand, it will please you with its tremendous frost resistance; it can easily handle temperatures dropping down to minus thirty-four degrees. We can fully enjoy their beauty not only in flowerbeds but also in fresh bouquets. For cutting into a vase, choose stems at the time when the bottom flowers are opening. They will last approximately seven days in water, just be careful not to place the vase near ripening fruit. They are sensitive to ethylene, which causes rapid shedding of petals. You can also try drying them for floristic purposes. If you hang the inflorescences in a dark and airy place, the flowers will perfectly retain their rich pink color and serve as an interesting element for winter decorations.

Showy stonecrop is one of the longest-living and hardiest perennials you can treat your garden to. It originally comes from the Far East, where it colonizes sunny and dry slopes. For successful cultivation, you simply need to find it a spot in direct sun with well-drained sandy soil. The 'Matrona' cultivar catches the eye at first glance with its fleshy, grayish-green leaves with a burgundy tinge and sturdy stems that do not break and need no support. We will deliver a mature potted seedling that you can easily transplant straight into the flowerbed after unpacking. We recommend planting five to seven plants per square meter; they will soon join into a solid stand around seventy centimeters tall. From August to October, it will then delight you with rich, flat inflorescences in an old rose color. It is an ideal choice for those looking for beauty without unnecessary effort. Žluťucha je aristokratkou mezi trvalkami, která do vaší zahrady vnese lehkost a eleganci, ale aby se jí dařilo, vyžaduje trochu specifický přístup k vodě a světlu. Sazenici vysazujte ideálně na jaře nebo na podzim do dobře připravené, kypré půdy. Miluje stanoviště, kde má „nohy ve stínu a hlavu na slunci“ – to znamená vlhkou, chladnější půdu, ale dostatek světla pro květy. Pokud ji vysadíte na plné slunce, musíte být velmi disciplinovaní v zálivce. V polostínu je péče o něco snazší. Půda musí být humózní a výživná; chudé písčité půdy jí nebudou svědčit bez masivního přídavku kompostu nebo listovky. Při výsadbě dodržujte dostatečné rozestupy, rostlina sice působí útle, ale v dospělosti zabere dost prostoru a potřebuje proudění vzduchu, aby netrpěla houbovými chorobami, ačkoliv je vůči nim přirozeně velmi odolná.
Během léta, zejména v období kvetení od července do září, se žluťucha stane magnetem pro včely a další opylovače. V tomto období dbejte na to, aby rostlina netrpěla žízní – svěšené listy jsou prvním signálem nedostatku vody. Pokud pěstujete žluťuchu v nádobě, což je skvělá volba pro terasy orientované na východ či západ, zvolte nádobu o průměru alespoň 40 cm. Na dno květináče dejte vrstvu keramzitu nebo štěrku pro odvod přebytečné vody a použijte kvalitní zahradnický substrát smíchaný s kompostem. V nádobách je riziko přehřátí kořenů vyšší, proto nádobu nestavte na rozpálený beton a pravidelně kontrolujte vlhkost substrátu. Pozor, rostlina v květináči je náchylnější na promrznutí kořenového balu, proto ji na zimu obalte jutou nebo přesuňte na chráněné místo.
Z hlediska údržby je žluťucha nenáročná dlouhověká trvalka. Po odkvětu můžete odstranit suchá květenství, pokud vám vadí esteticky, ale hlavní řez se provádí až po zaschnutí celé nadzemní části, ideálně na konci zimy před rašením nových výhonů. Rostlina je mrazuvzdorná a v záhonu nepotřebuje na zimu zakrývat chvojím. Ačkoliv vypadá jako křehká víla, je to odolná trvalka. Vzhledem k její výšce je vhodné ji umístit tak, aby byla chráněna před silnými nárazy větru. You will receive a grown seedling in a pot from us, which just needs to be transplanted to your chosen spot. It will do best in partial shade or full sun in humus-rich, loamy soil. We recommend planting three to five plants per square meter at a distance of about sixty centimeters. It will soon form an airy clump that will easily reach a height of one hundred to one hundred and fifty centimeters.
Although it looks very fragile, it is a hardy and long-lived perennial that requires no support and effortlessly handles even harsh frosts dropping to minus thirty-four degrees. A big advantage is that it does not suffer from pests or diseases, so even absolute beginners can easily manage growing it.
