Při hledání ideálního místa pro kyprej 'Swirl' se zaměřte na lokality, kde je dostatek slunce, které podporuje bohaté kvetení a intenzivní vybarvení květů i podzimního listí. Rostlina snese i polostín, ale na plném slunci bude kompaktnější a zdravější. Půda by měla být výživná a schopná zadržet vodu. Nebojte se ji vysadit do těžších jílovitých půd nebo k vodním prvkům, kde je zemina trvale zamokřená. Sazenice vysazujte do sponu 40 cm; pokud sázíte skupinu, počítejte s tím, že se rostlina časem rozroste do šířky a vytvoří bohatý trs. Ihned po výsadbě rostlinu důkladně zalijte, aby se spojila se stávající zeminou.
Jelikož se jedná o rostlinu původem z vlhkých stanovišť, zálivka je klíčová zejména v prvním roce po výsadbě a v obdobích letního sucha. Pokud pěstujete kyprej v běžném trvalkovém záhoně, který není přirozeně vlhký, pomůže vám nastýlka z kůry nebo štěpky, která udrží vlhkost v půdě déle. Hnojení není nezbytně nutné, pokud je půda přirozeně humózní, ale jarní dávka organického hnojiva nebo kompostu rostlině dodá energii pro start do nové sezóny. Díky tomu, že je tento kultivar sterilní nebo málo plodný, nemusíte se bát invazivního šíření semeny, které je typické pro divokou kyprej vrbici.
Údržba kypreje je velmi snadná a vhodná i pro úplné začátečníky. Rostlina si zachovává svůj elegantní, vzpřímený habitus a nevyžaduje vyvazování. Květenství jsou vzdušná a jemná, takže se v dešti nelámou. Pokud rádi tvoříte kytice, neváhejte stříhat kvetoucí stonky do vázy – rostlině to neublíží a ve vodě vydrží dlouho svěží. Potěšující zprávou je, že kyprej je v podstatě bez chorob a škůdců, dokonce nechutná ani plžům, takže vaše péče se omezí jen na obdivování květů a pozorování motýlů, které rostlina přitahuje.
Přezimování je bezproblémové, rostlina je dlouhověká a vysoce mrazuvzdorná. Na podzim neodstraňujte usychající stonky; jejich červenající barva a struktura zdobí zahradu i v sychravých dnech. Suchou hmotu ostříhejte až na jaře v březnu, těsně před rašením nových lístků. Často se ptáte na možnost pěstování v květináčích na terase – ano, kyprej 'Swirl' v nádobě poroste, ale je to náročnější na zálivku. Zvolte velkou nádobu s kvalitním substrátem a zajistěte, aby rostlina ani v horkých letních dnech netrpěla nedostatkem vláhy. Na zimu je u nádobových rostlin lepší květináč zapustit do země nebo obalit izolací, ačkoliv samotná rostlina je mrazuvzdorná, kořenový bal v nádobě promrzá rychleji než v půdě.

The roots of some species were formerly eaten candied as sweets in England and France and added to pastries and jellies. An undemanding and modest perennial that blooms with a large number of tiny flowers. It blooms for a record-breaking length of time throughout late summer and autumn. It forms smaller, compact, airy bushes that release a minty-spicy scent. The thyme-like flowers attract bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. It will look good among roses as well as in naturalistic steppe beds, perhaps with lower grasses. This calamint is generally more vigorous.
