Slézovec Lilac Lady je nádherná, bujně rostoucí trvalka, která se stane okamžitou dominantou vaší zahrady díky své výšce až 150 cm. Aby se této sazenici u vás dařilo, vyberte jí to nejteplejší a nejslunnější místo, jaké máte k dispozici. Rostlina doslova miluje slunce a potřebuje ho k tomu, aby nasadila záplavu lila květů. Půda by měla být ideálně hlinitá a propustná. Vyhněte se těžkým a jílovitým podkladům, kde by se držela voda, protože slézovec nesnáší přemokření, které by mohlo vést k uhnívání kořenů. Pokud máte na zahradě těžší zeminu, doporučujeme při výsadbě přimíchat písek nebo štěrk jako drenáž. Jelikož se jedná o vzrostlejší rostlinu, která může trpět na lámání větví v silném větru, je vhodné zvolit stanoviště chráněné před průvanem, například u jižní zdi domu nebo u plotu, který jí poskytne závětří.
Výsadbu sazenic provádějte ideálně na jaře, kdy už nehrozí silné mrazy, aby rostlina měla dostatek času dobře zakořenit. Dodržujte doporučený spon 75 cm (přibližně 2 rostliny na metr čtvereční). Tento rozestup není samoúčelný – slézovec tvoří mohutné keře a dostatečná cirkulace vzduchu mezi nimi funguje jako nejlepší prevence proti houbovým chorobám, jako je rez, na kterou může být náchylný. Během sezóny dbejte na pravidelnou, ale střídmou zálivku. Rostlina má raději sušší podmínky než trvalé mokro. Pro podporu bohatého kvetení od června až do října doporučujeme přihnojovat hnojivem pro kvetoucí rostliny jednou za dva týdny. Velmi důležitým úkonem je odstraňování odkvetlých květů. Tím nejen zamezíte tvorbě semen, která by rostlinu vysilovala, ale podpoříte násadu nových poupat, čímž výrazně prodloužíte dobu kvetení.
Slézovec je sice trvalka, ale v našich podmínkách je považován spíše za krátkověkou rostlinu s nižší mrazuvzdorností (do cca -12 °C, zóna 8a). Zima je pro něj kritickým obdobím. Na podzim rostlinu seřízněte zhruba na polovinu a ke kořenům přihrňte vysokou vrstvu mulčovací kůry, suchého listí nebo chvojí. V chladnějších oblastech je nutné rostlinu zakrýt i netkanou textilií. Co se týče pěstování v nádobách, je to možné, ale připravte se na to, že rostlina potřebuje opravdu velký květináč (alespoň 10-15 litrů), aby měla stabilní základnu a dostatek živin. V nádobě však slézovec venku nepřezimuje, proto jej na zimu přeneste do chladné, bezmrazé místnosti (například do garáže nebo zimní zahrady), kde přečká do jara při omezené zálivce.

An undemanding and modest perennial that blooms with a large number of tiny flowers. It blooms for a record-breaking length of time throughout late summer and autumn. It will look good among roses as well as in naturalistic steppe beds, perhaps with lower grasses. This calamint is generally more vigorous.
