Rostlina vytváří vzpřímené, téměř keřovité trsy, které se skvěle hodí do venkovských zahrad i moderních trvalkových výsadeb, kde rychle vyplní prázdná místa. Kultivar Duet se pyšní jemně růžovými květy s tmavším žilkováním, které doslova přitahují včely a další opylovače. Kromě okrasné funkce má i praktické využití, protože květy jsou jedlé a lze jimi ozdobit letní saláty nebo dezerty. Pevné stonky jsou navíc vhodné k řezu do vázy, kde vydrží dělat radost několik dní, pokud je sklidíte ve fázi, kdy se poupata teprve otevírají. Pozor si dejte jen na silnější mrazy, rostlina je mrazuvzdorná zhruba do -10 °C, takže v chladnějších oblastech ocení zimní přikrývku.

Pro úspěšné pěstování Slézovce 'Duet' je naprosto klíčový výběr správného stanoviště. Tato rostlina se svým původem řadí ke středomořské flóře, a proto vyžaduje plné slunce a teplo. Ve stínu by málo kvetla a vytahovala by se za světlem. Půda musí být propustná a hlinitá, ideálně s dobrým odtokem vody, protože slézovec nesnáší přemokření, které může vést k uhnívání kořenů. Pokud máte na zahradě těžkou jílovitou půdu, doporučujeme ji před výsadbou vylehčit pískem nebo drobným štěrkem. Vzhledem k tomu, že obdržíte již vzrostlou sazenici, můžete ji vysadit na záhon v momentě, kdy pominou silné jarní mrazy. Dodržujte spon výsadby alespoň 75 cm, rostlina totiž vytváří mohutné keřovité trsy a potřebuje kolem sebe prostor pro cirkulaci vzduchu, což zároveň funguje jako prevence proti chorobám.
Během sezóny je péče o slézovec poměrně nenáročná a zvládne ji i začátečník. Zálivka by měla být přiměřená – rostlina zvládne krátkodobé sucho lépe než trvalé vlhko. Důležitým zásahem pro prodloužení doby kvetení je pravidelné odstraňování odkvetlých květů. Tím zamezíte tvorbě semen a podpoříte rostlinu v nasazování nových poupat, takže vás bude těšit záplavou růžových a bílých květů od července až do září. Co se týče hnojení, buďte opatrní s dusíkem; jeho nadbytek by podpořil bujný růst listů na úkor květů. Bohatě postačí běžné hnojivo pro kvetoucí trvalky aplikované na začátku léta. Rostlina je sice deklarována jako bez škůdců, ale může ji napadnout rez, která se projevuje oranžovými nebo hnědými skvrnami na listech. V takovém případě napadené části ihned odstraňte.
Jedním z nejdůležitějších aspektů pěstování je přezimování. Slézovec 'Duet' je mrazuvzdorný zhruba do -12 °C (zóna 8a), což v našich podmínkách často vyžaduje zimní ochranu. Na podzim, po odkvětu, můžete rostlinu zakrátit, a před příchodem mrazů je nutné k kořenům přihrnout vyšší vrstvu mulče, listí nebo chvojí. V chladnějších oblastech se chová spíše jako krátkověká trvalka, která na stanovišti vydrží jen několik let, proto se nelekejte, pokud se její životnost přirozeně uzavře. Květy jsou jedlé a skvělé do salátů, stonky jsou pevné a vhodné k řezu do vázy, kde vydrží několik dní.
Zákazníci se často ptají na možnost pěstování v nádobách. Slézovec 'Duet' je pro pěstování v květináči vhodný, ale musíte mu zajistit dostatečný prostor. Zvolte velkou nádobu s odtokovým otvorem a na dno dejte vrstvu drenáže (kamínky, keramzit). V nádobě substrát vysychá rychleji, proto budete muset v horkých dnech zalévat častěji než ve volné půdě. Na zimu je však nutné květináč buď přenést do chladné světlé místnosti, kde nemrzne, nebo jej důkladně obalit polystyrenem či jutou a umístit na chráněné místo u zdi domu, protože kořenový bal v nádobě promrzá mnohem snadněji než v zemi.

An undemanding and modest perennial that blooms with a large number of tiny flowers. It blooms for a record-breaking length of time throughout late summer and autumn. It forms smaller, compact, airy bushes that release a minty-spicy scent. The thyme-like flowers attract bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. It will look good among roses as well as in naturalistic steppe beds, perhaps with lower grasses. This calamint is generally more vigorous.
