Lavatera hybrida, better known as tree mallow, is a record holder in growth speed and the ability to turn a flower bed into a blooming oasis in a single season. The 'Blushing Bride' variety will enchant you with its delicate, satin-like flowers in a pastel pink color with darker veining. This plant behaves more like a subshrub and in a sunny location can create an impressive dominant feature, whose flowers are moreover edible and will excellently decorate summer desserts. Growing it is suitable even for complete beginners, because tree mallow does not suffer from diseases or pests and handles drier conditions excellently. It is a rewarding plant for the back parts of perennial beds, where its growth will create a beautiful background for lower perennials. Although it is a short-lived perennial that can freeze out in harsh winters, its ability to bloom all summer long is irreplaceable. Cultivation
Slézovec 'Blushing Bride' je nádherná a rychle rostoucí rostlina, která vám dorazí jako již zapěstovaná sazenice, takže odpadá starost s náročným výsevem. Pro úspěšné pěstování je naprosto klíčový výběr stanoviště. Této krásce se nejlépe daří na plném slunci, kde její pastelově růžové květy doslova září. Ve stínu by rostlina vytahovala stonky za světlem a kvetla by jen velmi málo. Půda by měla být ideálně hlinitá a dobře propustná. Slézovec nesnáší přemokření, které by mohlo vést k uhnívání kořenů, proto pokud máte na zahradě těžkou jílovitou půdu, doporučujeme do výsadbové jámy přimíchat písek nebo drobný štěrk pro lepší drenáž. Sazenice sázejte do sponu alespoň 75 cm, protože rostlina se rychle rozroste do šířky a potřebuje kolem sebe prostor pro proudění vzduchu, což funguje i jako prevence proti houbovým chorobám, jako je rez.
Co se týče zálivky a výživy, slézovec je poměrně nenáročný. Po vysazení sazenice dbejte na pravidelnou zálivku, dokud rostlina pořádně nezakoření. Jakmile se však uchytí, je překvapivě tolerantní k sušším podmínkám a stačí ji zalévat jen v období déletrvajícího sucha. Dávejte ale pozor na pěstování v nádobách – tam substrát vysychá mnohem rychleji a rostlina bude vyžadovat pravidelnější přísun vody. Během vegetace můžete podpořit násadu květů hnojivem pro kvetoucí rostliny, ale nepřehánějte to s dusíkem, abyste neměli jen spoustu listí na úkor květů. Velmi doporučujeme pravidelně odstraňovat odkvetlé květy; nejenže tím udržíte rostlinu esteticky přitažlivou, ale především ji podnítíte k tvorbě nových poupat až do podzimu.
Protože je tato odrůda mrazuvzdorná pouze do přibližně -10 °C (zóna 8b), vyžaduje v našich podmínkách specifickou zimní péči. Slézovec se často chová jako krátkověká trvalka. Před příchodem mrazů je nutné kořenový krček důkladně přihrnout vysokou vrstvou mulče, suchého listí nebo chvojí. Pokud pěstujete slézovec v květináči, je nejbezpečnější nádobu na zimu přemístit do chladné, ale bezmrazé místnosti (například do garáže nebo zimní zahrady) a omezit zálivku na minimum. I přes veškerou péči se může stát, že v tuhých zimách rostlina vymrzne, ale její bohaté kvetení a jedlé květy, které ozdobí vaše letní saláty či dezerty, za to riziko rozhodně stojí. Během sezóny také kontrolujte výskyt mšic nebo slimáků, kteří si na listech rádi pochutnají.

This species of sage originates from the steppe regions of Central and Eastern Europe. It forms profusely flowering small clumps with straight, upright stems. In flower beds, it looks best in groups. It is traditionally planted as a companion to roses due to the matching flowering time. However, it looks equally good in mixed drought-tolerant steppe plantings with grasses. It is an excellent food source for bees. Lasts 7 days in a vase. Amethyst is an elegant variety with long stems and a pink flower color that is unusual for sages.

Calamintha nepeta
Calamint Blue Cloud
Lesser calamint Blue Cloud is an undemanding and modest perennial that reliably perfumes any sunny garden. Its original homeland is the sunny and dry slopes of Southern Europe, which is why it thrives best here in direct sun in well-drained, sandy, or poorer loamy soil. It handles winter without problems, tolerating frosts down to minus twenty-three degrees. You will receive a grown seedling in a pot from us, which you just need to transplant straight into the flowerbed, where it will very soon form a compact, airy small shrub reaching a height of up to forty centimeters. It does not suffer from any diseases or pests, so even complete beginners can easily handle caring for it. Throughout late summer and into autumn, it blooms with a record number of tiny blue flowers that are so typical of the Blue Cloud variety. The whole plant emits a pleasant minty-spicy scent, and its flowers, which resemble thyme, act as a literal magnet for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. It will look great among roses or in naturally designed steppe flowerbeds, where it naturally complements lower ornamental grasses. Additionally, both the blue flowers and green leaves are edible, so you can use them to garnish summer dishes. Lesser calamint is also excellently suited for cutting into smaller fresh bouquets, adding a fine structure to them in a vase.

Calamint
An undemanding and modest perennial that blooms with a large number of tiny flowers. It blooms for a record-breaking length of time throughout late summer and autumn. It forms smaller, compact, airy bushes that release a minty-spicy scent. The thyme-like flowers attract bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. It will look good among roses as well as in naturalistic steppe beds, perhaps with lower grasses. This calamint is generally more vigorous. It differs from other calamints with felted leaves by its record flowering length, stiff and shiny leaves, and also a larger number of flowers that do not form seeds and are therefore maximally durable. Sometimes sold under the cultivar name 'Triumphator'.
