Jeho pěstování je velmi snadné a je ideální volbou i pro začínající zahradníky, kteří chtějí rychle zaplnit prázdná místa v záhonu. Vzpřímené stonky jsou vhodné i k řezu do velkých letních kytic, kde vydrží svěží několik dní. Odkvetlé květy je dobré průběžně odstraňovat, čímž podpoříte násadu nových poupat a prodloužíte sezónu barev až do pozdního léta.

Pro úspěšné pěstování slézovce Bredon Springs je klíčový výběr správného stanoviště, které by mělo odrážet jeho středomořský původ. Tato rostlina bezpodmínečně vyžaduje plné slunce a teplé místo, ideálně chráněné před silným větrem, který by mohl polámat její vysoké stonky. Půda musí být především dobře propustná a hlinitá. Slézovec nesnáší přemokření, které v zimě často vede k uhnívání kořenů, proto se vyhněte těžkým jílovitým zeminám nebo místům, kde se drží voda. Vzhledem k mohutnému vzrůstu, kdy rostlina dosahuje výšky až dvou metrů, dodržujte při výsadbě dostatečný rozestup, ideálně jeden metr mezi rostlinami, aby mezi nimi proudil vzduch. To pomáhá jako prevence proti houbovým chorobám, jako je rez slézová.
Jelikož obdržíte již zapěstovanou sazenici, výsadbu do volné půdy doporučujeme provést v době, kdy je půda již prohřátá, ideálně od poloviny května. Po výsadbě rostlinu důkladně zalijte. V průběhu sezóny vyžaduje slézovec střední zálivku; ačkoliv snese krátkodobé sucho, pro bohatou násadu květů potřebuje pravidelný přísun vláhy, zejména v horkých letních dnech. Přihnojování není nutné přehánět – postačí na jaře zapravit do půdy kompost nebo použít hnojivo pro kvetoucí rostliny jednou za dva týdny. Příliš mnoho dusíku by podpořilo růst listů na úkor květů. Aby rostlina kvetla co nejdéle, je velmi vhodné pravidelně odstraňovat odkvetlé květy. Tím zabráníte tvorbě semen a podpoříte tvorbu nových poupat až do podzimu.
Slézovec je v našich podmínkách považován za krátkověkou trvalku či polokeř a jeho mrazuvzdornost má své limity (do cca -10 °C). Na zimu je tedy nezbytné rostlinu připravit. K kořenům přihrňte vrstvu zeminy, mulčovací kůry nebo suchého listí a nadzemní část zakryjte chvojím nebo bílou netkanou textilií. Na jaře, jakmile pominou mrazy, proveďte hluboký zpětný řez. Nebojte se rostlinu zkrátit na cca 30–40 cm nad zemí; slézovec velmi rychle obrazí a vytvoří kompaktnější keř. Pokud jde o pěstování v nádobách, je možné, ale vzhledem k velikosti rostliny zvolte velký a stabilní květináč s dobrou drenáží. V nádobě je však rostlina náchylnější na promrznutí, proto ji na zimu přeneste do chladné, bezmrazé místnosti (garáž, zimní zahrada).

It will look good among roses as well as in naturalistic steppe beds, perhaps with lower grasses. This calamint is generally more vigorous.
