Clematis New Love

Originally a native perennial from wet meadows. The delicate ragged flowers of the ragged robin add lightness and airiness to plantings. It fits perfectly into plantings around ponds and in damper places in the garden. It is suitable for naturalistic gardens and compositions. We can also use it well for cutting for vases.

Baptisia originates from North America, belongs to the legume family, and resembles the lupine in appearance. Unlike it, however, it does not suffer from fungal diseases and does not taste as good to slugs. Besides the blue flowers, the large pods are interesting, decorating the plant long after flowering. North American Indians used Baptisia roots to disinfect wounds and lower fever, and leaves to dye fabrics. Patience is most important with Baptisia; it takes some time to fully establish and create a massive root system adapted for surviving long periods of drought and fires. Then it is very long-lived.

Brunnera is a long-lived perennial originally from the mountain meadows and forests of the Caucasus. It is interesting not only when in bloom. The leaves are large, heart-shaped, and light green. They form a contrasting background for the delicate and tiny flowers that appear above the carpet of leaves from April to May. It sprouts early and dies back late, making it a valuable groundcover perennial.

This species of knotweed originates from the Himalayas and China, where it grows in scrub and on mountain meadows along streams at high altitudes. It forms sturdy clumps of fresh green, pointed leaves. Above them, upright, narrow, candle-like inflorescences composed of individual tiny flowers appear from summer onwards. It is a very popular perennial, recently bred into many cultivars and used in Western Europe in larger park and garden landscaping. They last 7 days in a vase; they are sensitive to ethylene released from ripening fruit. The 'Highlander' series comes from new Scottish breeding. It expands the color range and brings novel shapes. The flowers are incredibly full and individual petals are ruffled, which further reinforces the impression of fullness. They do not form seeds and should therefore be all the more vital. The flower is full, light purple with a greenish center.

An interesting perennial originally from the Himalayas, where it grows on dry grassy and stony slopes. The white button-like flowers resemble small Strawflowers. It is also effective due to its silver-grey foliage.

This clematis can overgrow fences and trellises; if it does not have support available, it grows as a carpet or bush. The light blue lavender-colored flowers fade or darken depending on the location and air temperature.

Fine tiny leaves and well-branched long stems with a large number of tiny star-shaped flowers make this Aster an ideal autumn cut flower. Vzpřímené stonky jsou vhodné i k řezu do velkých letních kytic, kde vydrží svěží několik dní. Odkvetlé květy je dobré průběžně odstraňovat, čímž podpoříte násadu nových poupat a prodloužíte sezónu barev až do pozdního léta.

Upright stems suitable for cutting branch out and bear tiny umbels of flowers. These are further emphasized around the perimeter by jagged bracts in the color of the flower with translucent green. It creates airy, transparent clumps with intensely purple-colored stems and tiny leaves. Soft pink flowers bloom throughout the summer until autumn. They look stunning in beds and containers. In England, where this variety was discovered near the town of Bampton, it overwinters well. Here, it needs the best possible site conditions. Also popular with bees and butterflies.
