Brunnera is a long-lived perennial native to the mountain meadows and forests of the Caucasus. It is interesting not only when in bloom. The leaves are large, heart-shaped, and light green. Baptisie pochází ze Severní Ameriky, patří do čeledi bobovitých a vzhledem připomíná lupinu – vlčí bob mnoholistý. Narozdíl od něj ale netrpí houbovými chorobami a také tolik nechutná slimákům. Kromě modrých květů jsou na ní zajímavé právě velké lusky, které rostlinu zdobí ještě dlouho po odkvětu. Severoameričtí indiáni používali kořeny baptisie k dezinfekci ran a na snížení horečky a listy k barvení látek. U baptisie je nejdůležitější trpělivost, trvá jí nějaký čas, než se plně ujme a vytvoří mohutný kořenový systém uzpůsobený pro přežití dlouhých období sucha i požárů. Pak je velmi dlouhověká.

Garden cultivars of goldenrod are attractive and undemanding perennials bred from native North American wild species. This Phlomis grows wild in Central and Southeast Europe, and in our country, it is a critically endangered species. The stems are purple and bear rough, heart-shaped leaves. The flowers are pinkish-purple, and the dry seed capsules are also ornamental. It creates a striking decorative element even in winter. The combination with soft, loose plantings of grasses and perennials, into which Phlomis brings a strict graphic accent, is particularly impressive.

This tirelessly flowering variety, related to the well-known medicinal Verbena, is ideal for perennial plantings as a refining accent. It forms airy, transparent clumps with intensely purple-colored stems and tiny leaves. Delicate pink flowers bloom throughout the summer until autumn. They look stunning in flower beds and containers. In England, where this variety was discovered near the town of Bampton, it overwinters well. Here, it is necessary to find the best possible habitat conditions for it. Also popular with bees and butterflies.

Small shrubs with fragrant gray-silver shoots and leaves. Strikingly colored flowers are clustered in dense panicles. In the garden, it can evoke a summer atmosphere long into autumn. It tolerates drought very well and loves warmth. It fits perfectly into Mediterranean-style plantings. It is popular with bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. The cultivar Sterling Silver is notable for its silvery-gray leaves. Ornamental even after flowering, thanks to its decorative fruit clusters.

A beautiful, though rather short-lived, perennial, ideal for steppe areas alongside delicate xerophilous grasses and perennials. An exceptional cultivar with flowers in peach and apricot tones, transitioning to an elegant old rose as they fade.

A fast-growing ornamental grass with strikingly colored dark burgundy leaves. It blooms from July to October with pink to burgundy spikes that gradually fade to beige. Interesting not only for its flowers, but also for its overall habit and striking contrasting color.

Gaura is a clump-forming perennial native to Texas and Louisiana. Here, it tends to behave more like a short-lived perennial. It combines beautifully with grasses, adding lightness and airiness to flower beds. It's an excellent food source for insects. Tiny, butterfly-like flowers bloom tirelessly from June until the first frosts. For bouquets, harvest as soon as the first two or three flowers open on the stem. Summer Breeze has an abundant display of white and pink flowers. It is robust and resilient.

Stokésie pochází z jihovýchodní části Severní Ameriky, kde přirozeně roste ve světlých borových lesích na dobře odvodněných půdách. V našich podmínkách jí bude svědčit slunné teplé místo a společnost suchomilných trvalek. Výhodou by mohlo být i pěstování v nádobách, které můžeme na zimu lépe ochránit před přílišným vlhkem. Velké nápadné květy se podobají chrpám a hodí se k řezu. Kultivar s pudrově modrými květy.
