Svíčkovec Graceful Blush vnáší do letních a podzimních záhonů neopakovatelnou lehkost a dynamiku. Tato trsovitá trvalka, původem z horkých prérií Texasu a Louisiany, je jako stvořená pro slunné pozice s dobře propustnou, písčitou půdou. Ačkoliv se v našich podmínkách chová často jako krátkověká trvalka, na vhodném stanovišti se spolehlivě přesévá a udržuje se tak v zahradě po mnoho let. Drobné růžové kvítky připomínají hejna malých motýlů a vykvétají neúnavně od července až do října. Graceful Blush je kompaktnější kultivar dorůstající výšky 30 až 40 centimetrů, což z něj činí ideální rostlinu pro okraje záhonů nebo i nádobové pěstování. V záhonech se svíčkovec výborně kombinuje s okrasnými travami, kterým dodává barevný akcent, a zároveň je magnetem pro včely a další užitečný hmyz. Květy jsou vhodné i k řezu, do vázy je stříháme v okamžiku, kdy se otevírají první poupata, aby nám doma dělaly radost co nejdéle.

Pěstování svíčkovce Graceful Blush začíná výběrem správného stanoviště, protože tato rostlina miluje slunce a teplo. Nejdůležitějším faktorem pro úspěšné pěstování je půda, která musí být výborně propustná, spíše sušší, písčitá až kamenitá. Svíčkovec nesnáší těžké jílovité půdy, ve kterých v zimě uhnívá. Pokud máte na zahradě těžkou zeminu, je nutné při výsadbě přimíchat písek nebo štěrk a zajistit dobrou drenáž. Spon výsadby volte kolem 40 cm (přibližně 6 až 9 rostlin na metr čtvereční), aby měl trs kolem sebe dostatek vzduchu.
Zálivka je nutná především po výsadbě, než rostlina dobře zakoření. Jakmile se však svíčkovec uchytí, stává se velmi tolerantním k suchu a vyžaduje zalévání jen v období dlouhotrvajících veder. S hnojením to nepřehánějte; v příliš výživné půdě rostlina roste bujně, ale má tendenci se rozvalovat a méně kvést. Stačí jí chudší půda. Velkou výhodou tohoto kultivaru je odolnost vůči chorobám a škůdcům, takže postřiky nebudou potřeba. Pro podporu dlouhého kvetení od července až do října můžete průběžně odstraňovat odkvetlé stonky, ale není to nezbytně nutné.
Svíčkovec je sice trvalka, ale často krátkověká. V našich podmínkách (zóna 7a, mrazuvzdornost do cca -17 °C) je citlivý na zimní vlhko. Suché části ponechte přes zimu jako přirozenou ochranu a sestřihněte je nízko nad zemí až na jaře, když začnou rašit nové výhony. Na zimu je vhodné přikrýt bázi rostliny chvojím nebo suchým listím. Pokud rostlina po několika letech zajde, často po sobě zanechá semenáčky, které zajistí pokračování rodu ve vaší zahradě.
Graceful Blush je díky svému kompaktnímu vzrůstu (30–40 cm) vynikající volbou pro pěstování v nádobách. Květináč musí mít odtokové otvory a na dno patří vrstva drenáže (keramzit, kamínky). Substrát namíchejte s pískem v poměru 1:1, aby voda rychle odtékala. V nádobě rostlina promrzá rychleji než v záhonu, proto ji na zimu přesuňte na chráněné místo u zdi domu nebo květináč obalte izolací, přičemž substrát udržujte jen velmi mírně vlhký, nikoliv mokrý.
