Řebčík perský patří mezi nenáročné cibuloviny, které zvládnou hravě vypěstovat i začátečníci, pokud dodrží několik základních pravidel. Jakmile obdržíte své cibule prémiové velikosti, uskladněte je na suchém a chladném místě, dokud nenastane čas výsadby. Ideálním obdobím pro uložení cibulí do země je podzim, konkrétně měsíce září až listopad, případně i mírný prosinec, pokud půda není ještě zamrzlá. Vyberte pro ně stanoviště na slunci nebo v polostínu a zaměřte se na kvalitu půdy. Ta by měla být především propustná a bohatá na humus. Propustnost je naprosto klíčová, protože v přemokřené zemině by cibule mohly přes zimu uhnít. Samotná výsadba by měla probíhat do hloubky 15 až 20 centimetrů. Aby vynikla jejich krása, sázejte je ideálně ve skupinkách, přičemž dodržujte rozestupy 20 až 30 centimetrů mezi jednotlivými rostlinami, což odpovídá zhruba deseti kusům na jeden metr čtvereční.
Během jarního růstu a následného kvetení v dubnu a květnu vyžaduje rostlina střední zálivku. Půda by měla být vlhká, ale nikdy ne trvale podmáčená. V tomto období se řebčík odmění nádhernými zvonkovitými květy v unikátním olivově zeleném odstínu, které budou navíc aktivně lákat včely a další opylovače. Vzhledem k tomu, že silné stonky se šedozelenými listy dorůstají úctyhodné výšky 80 až 100 centimetrů, doporučujeme rostlinám vyhradit místo spíše v zadních partiích květinových záhonů. Tyto vysoké květy jsou také mimořádně vhodné k řezu do váz, kde vydrží dělat radost velmi dlouho. Vyplní tak na záhonu přesně to hluché období, kdy už odkvetly ranné jarní cibuloviny jako tulipány či narcisy, ale letničky ještě nezačaly naplno zářit.
Když rostlina na přelomu jara a léta odkvete, je důležité nechat její nadzemní část přirozeně zaschnout a zežloutnout. V žádném případě listy neodstřihávejte předčasně, protože cibule si z nich stahuje nezbytné živiny pro úspěšný růst v dalším roce. Řebčík perský je dlouhověká trvalka a vyznačuje se vynikající mrazuvzdorností až do -28 °C, což odpovídá klimatické zóně 5a. Znamená to pro vás jednu velkou výhodu – cibule před zimou rozhodně nemusíte složitě vykopávat a uskladňovat. Mohou zůstat bezpečně v zemi na svém místě, kde přirozeně přezimují pod sněhovou pokrývkou. Na jaře pak znovu spolehlivě vyraší a budou pokračovat ve svém cyklu bez nutnosti vaší další složité péče.
