Allium sphaerocephalon, Loukykvět

Allium sphaerocephalon

The round-headed garlic draws attention with its striking flowers, which form unmistakable dark purple and burgundy dots. It is a summer-blooming variety that reaches a height of about seventy to one hundred centimeters. Its egg-shaped inflorescences, three to five centimeters in size, are densely packed and appear from June to August. Its leaves resemble chives in shape, but it is typical for summer garlic that they begin to naturally yellow and wither during the blooming period. The deep color of the flowers stands out perfectly in mixed prairie plantings alongside delicate ornamental grasses. Furthermore, the dense inflorescences act as a magnet for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. Anyone who creates home arrangements will love this plant. The firm, long stems are excellent for cutting into fresh bouquets, and the heads retain their shape and color after drying for use in dried arrangements. The entire plant is fully edible and completely resistant to common diseases.

Purple Allium, Loukykvět

Allium atropurpureum

Purple garlic, Latin name Allium atropurpureum, originally traveled to us from the sunny regions of the Balkans. At first glance, it captures attention with its exceptionally dark, deep burgundy color, which acts as a perfect contrast in the garden to lighter perennials and ornamental grasses. During May and June, striking semi-spherical inflorescences composed of tiny star-shaped flowers bloom on sturdy stems reaching sixty to ninety centimeters in height. They look beautiful, emit a pleasant fragrance, and attract bees, bumblebees, and other pollinators from afar. After flowering, the plant gradually goes dormant in the ground, so it is ideal to combine it with species that will subtly fill its space over the summer. The flowers also stand out in summer bouquets, where they remain fresh for many days. You can also dry them or leave them in the bed through the winter, as their snow-covered silhouettes create a magical sight. Additionally, the flowers are edible and make a great garnish for dishes.

Allium Red Mohican, Loukykvět

Allium amethystinum

Rostlina dorůstá zhruba do jednoho metru a díky své pevné stavbě bez potíží stojí i bez opory. Neostříhané květy navíc zdobí zahradu svými siluetami dlouho do zimy.

Most daffodils have a bright orange or deep yellow center, but lately, more muted pastel colors have become increasingly popular. The Palmares daffodil is exactly the hit you've been looking for if you want something a little different. Allium Globemaster, Loukykvět

Allium

An imposing large-flowered garlic with a huge lilac-purple inflorescence will give your garden an airy feel and an interesting architectural element. The 'Globemaster' cultivar reaches a height of about eighty to one hundred centimeters and bears strikingly round flowers on straight stems in late spring, consisting of thousands of tiny florets. We send customers the largest mature bulbs directly. You just need to place them in the ground in autumn, and in the spring, they will reward you with truly rich and massive flowers. It is an excellent plant even for complete beginners, as it does not need complicated care or wind support. It handles harsher frosts well and reliably shows itself in full force every season in a suitable sunny location. In the garden, this garlic benefits most from planting in smaller or larger groups scattered among other sun-loving perennials. Given that its long leaves begin to die back and yellow during flowering, it is clever to plant lower shrubs or perennials with rich foliage in front of it. Fragrant purple flowers attract many pollinators to the garden and enliven the space just as early spring bulbs are fading and summer perennials are just waking up. 'Globemaster' is also a great choice for creating bouquets because the stems do not contain the typical strong aroma and they remain fresh in a vase for quite a long time. The whole flowers and young parts of the plant are surprisingly edible and can be used for original food decoration. After flowering, you get firm seed heads that you can easily dry for autumn and winter decorations.

Cultivation

Listy odkvetlých rostlin necháme zežloutnout a seschnout, pak teprve odstraníme.
