Tulipány Honeymoon milují slunné nebo polostinné stanoviště, kde jejich zářivě bílé květy s jemně střapatými okraji nejlépe vyniknou. Základem úspěšného pěstování je výběr správné půdy. Ta by měla být dostatečně humózní, hlinitá a především velmi dobře propustná. Příliš těžká a trvale zamokřená zemina představuje pro tyto cibuloviny riziko, protože mohou snadno uhnít. Pokud doručené cibule neplánujete vysadit ihned po jejich rozbalení, doporučujeme je skladovat na chladném, suchém a dobře větraném místě mimo přímé slunce. Samotná výsadba probíhá ideálně na podzim, tedy v průběhu září, října až listopadu, kdy už půda pomalu chladne a nehrozí předčasné rašení listů. Naše velké a kvalitní cibule pěstební velikosti 12/+ v sobě mají obrovskou zásobu živin a energie, což z nich dělá naprosto spolehlivou volbu, u které zaručeně uspějí i naprostí zahradničtí začátečníci.
Při samotném ukládání do země pamatujte na správnou hloubku, která by se měla pohybovat v rozmezí 10 až 15 centimetrů. V zahradnické praxi platí velmi spolehlivé a jednoduché pravidlo, že každá cibule by měla být pod zemí zhruba v hloubce, která odpovídá trojnásobku její vlastní výšky. Cibulky sázejte vždy špičkou směřující kolmo vzhůru a dodržujte mezi jednotlivými kusy pravidelné rozestupy 10 až 15 centimetrů. Tento spon vám umožní vytvořit krásně hustý porost, přičemž na jeden metr čtvereční spotřebujete zhruba 50 až 60 cibulí. Ihned po zasazení je naprosto nezbytné celou plochu důkladně a hluboce zalít. Tento krok je klíčový proto, aby cibule mohly začít aktivně zakořeňovat ještě dávno před příchodem prvních silnějších mrazů. Jakmile je cibulka dobře usazená, vyžaduje další zálivku už jen na jaře během suchého počasí, běžná jarní vláha jí jinak plně postačí.
Tyto nádherné sněhově bílé tulipány rostou do výšky 40 až 50 centimetrů a díky svému pevnému vzpřímenému růstu nevyžadují žádnou vnější oporu, a to ani za silnějšího jarního větru. Během vegetační sezóny není potřeba rostliny nijak zaštipovat. Rostlina spadá mezi krátkověké trvalky, proto je nutné nechat všechny její zelené listy přirozeně zežloutnout a zaschnout přímo na záhonu, aby si cibule stáhla energii pro kvetení v dalším roce. Ze zdravotních rizik dbejte na prevenci proti houbovým chorobám, jako je plíseň šedá nebo fusariová hniloba, kterým předchází právě propustná půda. Objeví-li se na listech mozaikové skvrny, může jít o virus mozaiky a napadenou rostlinu je lepší ze záhonu včas odstranit.
