Pro úspěšné pěstování vyberte místo na plném slunci, kde se rostlině bude dařit nejlépe. Půda by měla být hlinitá, výživná a především dobře propustná, aby se zabránilo hromadění vlhkosti. Při výsadbě dodržujte spon 40 až 50 centimetrů, což odpovídá zhruba 4 až 6 rostlinám na metr čtvereční. Tento rozestup zajistí dostatečnou cirkulaci vzduchu a podpoří zdravý růst. Zálivku vyžaduje pouze mírnou, výborně totiž snáší sušší podmínky a nadměrné přemokření by jí naopak uškodilo. Jde o rostlinu mimořádně vhodnou pro začátečníky, protože netrpí na žádné škůdce ani běžné choroby.
Během sezóny je péče o krásnoočko velmi snadná a odmění vás dlouhým kvetením od června až do října. Jelikož se jedná o krátkověkou trvalku, je důležité pravidelně odstraňovat odkvetlé květy. Tento jednoduchý úkon zabrání rostlině tvořit semena a podpoří tvorbu nových poupat, čímž prodloužíte její kvetení a celkovou vitalitu. Pokud se rozhodnete trsy na konci sezóny celkově seříznout, udělejte to nejpozději na začátku podzimu, aby měla rostlina dostatek času připravit se na zimu. V létě můžete pevné stonky s krémově žlutými květy stříhat i do vázy, kde vydrží krásné přibližně týden.
Rostlina je mrazuvzdorná až do -23 °C, nicméně jejím největším nepřítelem je zimní vlhko. Z toho důvodu je propustná půda naprosto klíčová. Před příchodem silných mrazů doporučujeme trsy preventivně přikrýt chvojím. Krásnoočko se také skvěle hodí pro pěstování v nádobách a truhlících na terasách či balkonech. V takovém případě nezapomeňte na kvalitní drenážní vrstvu na dně květináče a propustný substrát. Na zimu je vhodné nádoby s rostlinami přesunout do bezmrazé, světlé místnosti a zálivku omezit na naprosté minimum, aby kořeny přes zimu neuhnily.

Originally a North American prairie perennial. It belongs to the group of medium-tall tickseeds, growing in upright clumps. It has interestingly shaped leaves with three long, narrow lobes. Both leaves and stems turn red in autumn. The flowers are about 5 centimeters large and a lighter yellow than most tickseeds. They last about a week in a vase.

The cultivar Caradonna stands out with a long flowering period and dark, almost black-purple stems with tiny purple flowers and dark purple bracts. If we cut it back after flowering, it will bloom again in late August and September.
