Bledule letní Gravetye Giant je na pěstování velmi nenáročná cibulovina, která pro svůj úspěšný růst ocení především pečlivý výběr stanoviště. Nejlépe se jí bude dařit na slunném místě či v příjemném polostínu, kde bude mít k dispozici neustálý dostatek vláhy. Tato vlhkomilná rostlina přímo vyžaduje místa s vyšší půdní i vzdušnou vlhkostí a na rozdíl od mnoha jiných cibulovin bez problémů snese i přechodně zaplavovanou půdu. Z hlediska složení zeminy je pro ni naprosto ideální těžší jílovitá, hlinitá nebo humózní půda, která dokáže dobře zadržovat vodu a je zároveň dostatečně bohatá na živiny. Pokud se rozhodnete pěstovat tuto bleduli v prostorném květináči nebo okrasné nádobě na terase, musíte obzvlášť pečlivě dbát na to, aby substrát nikdy zcela nevyschl, jinak cibule oslábnou a nebudou správně prosperovat.
Samotná výsadba zakoupených cibulí probíhá v podzimních měsících, ideální období pro uložení do půdy je od září až do konce listopadu, dokud půda trvale nezamrzne. Pokud cibule neplánujete vysadit ihned po jejich doručení, uskladněte je na chladném, temném a dobře větraném místě, aby nedošlo k jejich zapaření. Přesto doporučujeme s výsadbou zbytečně neotálet, cibule by totiž na vzduchu mohly postupně vysychat a ztrácet svou vitalitu. Cibule sázejte vždy špičkou nahoru do hloubky 10 až 15 centimetrů. Pro vytvoření bohatého a přirozeného porostu dodržujte rozestupy 15 až 20 centimetrů mezi jednotlivými rostlinami, což v praxi odpovídá zhruba třiceti až padesáti cibulím na jeden metr čtvereční.
Během jarních měsíců vás bledule potěší svými jemnými květy, ale pamatujte, že tyto rostliny často potřebují dostatek času k dobrému zakořenění a tvorbě květních pupenů. Je proto naprosto běžné a přirozené, že se v prvním roce po výsadbě objeví na záhonu pouze sytě zelené listy a první voňavé květy vás odmění až v následující zahradnické sezóně. Jakmile rostlina od dubna do června odkvete, začne přes léto přirozeně zatahovat zpět do země. Je nesmírně důležité zelené listy nikdy neodstraňovat ani nesekat předčasně. Nechte je na záhonu přirozeně zežloutnout a uschnout, protože cibule si z nich potřebuje stáhnout všechny důležité živiny a nashromáždit energii pro úspěšné přečkání zimy.
Obrovskou výhodou této dlouhověké trvalky je její fantastická odolnost a minimální nároky na další péči. Vzhledem k tomu, že je celá rostlina jedovatá, přirozeně se jí obloukem vyhýbají veškeré běžné choroby i zahradní škůdci. Vaše práce se tak omezí pouze na občasnou kontrolu vlhkosti půdy v sušších obdobích. Nemusíte si dělat starosti ani s příchodem tuhé zimy, protože usídlené cibule jsou v půdě plně mrazuvzdorné až do úctyhodných -28 °C a nepotřebují vůbec žádné speciální zazimování ani krytí chvojím.
