Rudbeckia missouriensis

Missouri Rudbeckia

Rudbeckia, also known as coneflowers, originate from North America; they are robust and richly flowering perennials for late summer and autumn. They are suitable for prairie plantings with tall grasses as well as for country cottage gardens. The central cones look very striking even after flowering and decorate perennial beds throughout the winter. Harvest for the vase as soon as they bloom. Vase life is 7 to 10 days. The dried central cones can also be used. Missouri Coneflower (Rudbeckia missouriensis) has narrow leaves and petals. It is generally shorter and finer than the better-known *Rudbeckia fulgida*. It adapts well to weather fluctuations, handling hot and humid episodes as well as drier periods. The final height of the plants is influenced by soil and moisture conditions. Show full description

Earlier, they tend to wilt and the stems cannot hold the flower in an upright position. All parts of the plant are poisonous. Double Ellen White is an almost pure white, double-flowered hellebore.
