Water avens is a charming native perennial that inherently belongs to moist meadows and stream banks. In the garden, it thrives best in loamy or clay soil that retains plenty of moisture. It grows excellently in both full sun and partial shade. You will receive a well-rooted seedling in a pot from us, which you simply transplant into the flower bed, where it will soon form a nice ground cover. From May to July, it blooms with semi-double flowers on stems thirty to sixty centimeters tall. They have a cup-like shape and play with pastel yellow, dusty pink, and cream shades with a purplish calyx. Unlike cultivated garden avens, it differs in the structure of its flowers, which droop on the stems like delicate little bells. The edible flowers reliably attract pollinators. Although it is a short-lived perennial, it willingly self-seeds, requires no support, and playfully handles severe frosts. Moreover, it does not suffer from diseases or pests. The faded seed heads decorate the garden even through the winter. Water avens is great for spring bouquets; we cut the stems when a quarter to a half of the flowers are open. They last a week in a vase, but they are not suitable for drying.

Cultivation
Kuklík potoční je velmi nenáročná trvalka, kterou snadno zvládnou pěstovat i začátečníci. Jelikož dostanete již dobře prokořeněnou sazenici, můžete ji rovnou vysadit na trvalé stanoviště. Nejlépe se jí daří na slunci nebo v polostínu, ideálně v místech, která připomínají její přirozené prostředí vlhkých luk a břehů. Půda by měla být hlinitá, jílovitá nebo humózní, s dobrou schopností zadržovat vláhu. Při výsadbě dodržujte spon zhruba 30 cm, což vychází na 9 až 12 rostlin na metr čtvereční. Tento rozestup zajistí dostatečnou cirkulaci vzduchu. Ačkoliv rostlina netrpí na škůdce ani choroby, v příliš zahuštěné výsadbě a při extrémním zamokření by se mohlo ojediněle objevit padlí.
Pro úspěšné pěstování a bohaté kvetení doporučujeme dodržovat tyto základní kroky:
- Zálivka: Kuklík miluje vlhkost. Zvláště v letních měsících dbejte na to, aby půda nevyschla.
- Hnojení: Nepotřebuje žádná speciální hnojiva, na jaře bohatě postačí přidat k rostlině kvalitní kompost.
- Nádoby a truhlíky: Pokud nemáte zahradu, rostlina je pro pěstování v nádobách skvělou volbou. Zvolte květináč s odtokovými otvory, humózní substrát a pravidelně zalévejte.
- Sklizeň květů: Od května do července tvoří pastelově zbarvené jedlé květy. Pokud je chcete do vázy, stříhejte je při rozvití čtvrtiny až poloviny květů. Pro sušení se však nehodí.
Tato trvalka je vysoce odolná a bez problémů zvládne i silné mrazy až do -28 °C, takže nevyžaduje žádnou zimní ochranu ani oporu pro své stonky. Ačkoliv se neřadí mezi dlouhověké trvalky, ochotně se na záhonu sama přesévá a udržuje se tak na místě po mnoho let. Její životnost navíc můžete prodloužit tím, že starší trsy na jaře nebo na podzim rozdělíte. Po odkvětu nemusíte rostlinu nijak radikálně stříhat. We cut the stems for a vase when roughly a quarter to half of the flowers on the stem are open. They will stay beautiful in water for approximately seven days and add lightness and movement to an arrangement. However, its flowers are not suitable for drying. Although it is more of a short-lived perennial, it will bring you a lot of joy in the flowerbed with its rich flowers and undemanding nature.

Avens Totally Tangerine
Avens Totally Tangerine will brighten any garden with its cup-shaped flowers in warm shades that resemble the color of ripe tangerines. The original botanical species of this cute avens originate from the mountainous regions of Chile, which is why it thrives best even in our conditions in well-drained, humus-rich, and loamy soil. It handles frosts down to minus twenty-eight degrees without problems, and even complete beginners can easily handle caring for it, as it does not suffer from diseases or pests. You will get an already grown seedling in a pot from us, which you simply transplant straight into the flowerbed in sun or partial shade. It is ideal to plant the plants about half a meter apart. Here it will soon form a dense clump of green leaves, from which sturdy stems up to ninety centimeters tall emerge, and they do not need any support.
Although it is a short-lived perennial, it will make up for everything with its incredible persistence in blooming. Unlike other avens, the Totally Tangerine variety starts its blooming season a little later, but in return, it will delight you without a break from May to September. The semi-double flowers also gradually transition into a deep salmon to dark peach color and are a literal magnet for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. Its original homeland is the sunny and dry slopes of Southern Europe, which is why it thrives best here in direct sun in well-drained, sandy, or poorer loamy soil. It handles winter without problems, tolerating frosts down to minus twenty-three degrees. You will receive a grown seedling in a pot from us, which you just need to transplant straight into the flowerbed, where it will very soon form a compact, airy small shrub reaching a height of up to forty centimeters. It does not suffer from any diseases or pests, so even complete beginners can easily handle caring for it. Throughout late summer and into autumn, it blooms with a record number of tiny blue flowers that are so typical of the Blue Cloud variety. The whole plant emits a pleasant minty-spicy scent, and its flowers, which resemble thyme, act as a literal magnet for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. It will look great among roses or in naturally designed steppe flowerbeds, where it naturally complements lower ornamental grasses. Additionally, both the blue flowers and green leaves are edible, so you can use them to garnish summer dishes. Lesser calamint is also excellently suited for cutting into smaller fresh bouquets, adding a fine structure to them in a vase.

Calamint
An undemanding and modest perennial that blooms with a large number of tiny flowers. It blooms for a record-breaking length of time throughout late summer and autumn. It forms smaller, compact, airy bushes that release a minty-spicy scent. The thyme-like flowers attract bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. It will look good among roses as well as in naturalistic steppe beds, perhaps with lower grasses. This calamint is generally more vigorous. It differs from other calamints with felted leaves by its record flowering length, stiff and shiny leaves, and also a larger number of flowers that do not form seeds and are therefore maximally durable. Sometimes sold under the cultivar name 'Triumphator'.
