Cultivation
Kuklík East of Eden je naprosto nenáročná trvalka, kterou zvládne vypěstovat i úplný začátečník. Vzhledem k tomu, že od nás obdržíte již krásně vzrostlou sazenici, můžete se rovnou pustit do výsadby. Nejlépe se mu bude dařit na slunném stanovišti nebo v lehkém polostínu. Vyžaduje hlinitou, humózní a dobře propustnou půdu. Při sázení do záhonu dodržujte spon 30 až 40 centimetrů, což odpovídá zhruba 9 až 12 rostlinám na metr čtvereční. Dostatečný prostor zaručí dobré proudění vzduchu a zabrání tak vzniku houbových chorob, jako je padlí, na které by rostlina mohla trpět v příliš zahuštěné výsadbě nebo při trvalém přemokření.
Rostlina vyžaduje střední zálivku, proto by měla být půda mírně vlhká, ale nikdy ne trvale podmáčená, což by mohlo poškodit kořeny. Během sezóny nepotřebuje žádnou složitou péči. Kuklík je vysoce odolný a přirozeně netrpí na žádné škůdce ani choroby. Od května do července vás potěší záplavou krémových až světle růžových květů na pevných stoncích vysokých 40 až 60 centimetrů, které nevyžadují žádnou oporu. Pokud budete pravidelně odstraňovat odkvetlé stonky, podpoříte tím tvorbu nových poupat a prodloužíte dobu kvetení. Květy jsou navíc velkým lákadlem pro včely a další opylovače.
Tato trvalka je sice spíše krátkověká, ale její životnost na zahradě můžete snadno prodloužit. Stačí jen pravidelně rozdělovat trsy po několika letech, čímž se rostlina zmladí a získá novou vitalitu. Na zimu nevyžaduje žádnou speciální ochranu, je totiž plně mrazuvzdorná a hravě zvládne i drsné mrazy až do -28 °C. Odkvetlé stonky navíc po zimě tvoří na záhonu zajímavý vizuální efekt. Pokud plánujete pěstování v nádobách na terase, dodržujte těchto pár pravidel:
- Zvolte dostatečně velký květináč s odtokovými otvory.
- Na dno přidejte drenážní vrstvu (např. keramzit), aby přebytečná voda mohla vždy volně odtékat.
- Použijte kvalitní propustný substrát obohacený o kompost.

The cultivar Caradonna stands out with a long flowering period and dark, almost black-purple stems with tiny purple flowers and dark purple bracts. If we cut it back after flowering, it will bloom again in late August and September.
