Therefore, we combine it in beds with suitable perennials that will cover the lower parts well. The entire plant is coarsely hairy. It is a hardy and long-lived perennial and is resistant to powdery mildew. Septemberrubin has intensely carmine-pink flowers with a yellow center. It lasts 7 to 10 days in a vase.

It forms a delicate, airy shrub. Compared to Aster ericoides, the flowers are less numerous, placed individually at the ends of the branches, which gives this perennial an airy effect. Rudbékie, jinak také třapatky, pochází ze Severní Ameriky, jsou to robustní a bohatě kvetoucí trvalky pozdního léta a podzimu. Hodí se pro prérijní výsadby s vysokými trávami i do venkovských zahrádek k chalupám. Středové terče i po odkvětu vypadají velmi efektně a zdobí trvalkové záhony i přes zimu. Do vázy sklízíme, hned jakmile vykvetou. Výdrž ve váze je 7 až 10 dní. Můžeme používat i suché středové terče. Květy má jasně zlatožluté s tmavými terči. Je vyšší než známá rudbékie Goldsturm a také snáší o něco více sucha.

Hollyhocks are a must for every lover of a rustic atmosphere. We traditionally associate them with sunny grandmother's gardens, although they reached Europe with ancient travelers along the Silk Road from the steppes of Central Asia. And the hollyhock's wanderlust remains. It often self-seeds, and you'll find it in a spot where you definitely didn't plant it. Naturally, it's a biennial or short-lived perennial. Its fleeting nature is balanced by beautiful, full flowers and a striking silhouette and height. It's suitable for cutting and was also used for dyeing and as a medicinal plant. The Spotlight series includes cultivars with single flowers. Their great advantage, in addition to naturally better rain resistance of the flowers, is overall greater hardiness and persistence. They are more persistent than double-flowered forms, which retain the characteristics of biennials.

Catmints are ideal companions for roses, suitable for naturalistic gardens, and shorter varieties also work well in window boxes and pots. Some of them are an irresistible lure for cats, caused by the hallucinogen nepetalactone. This should be present in the highest degree in Nepeta cataria. Conversely, lemon-scented catmints are said not to attract cats. The botanical name Nepeta probably comes from the ancient Etruscan city of Nepet - Nepi in the present-day Italian province of Viterbo, where the plant was once cultivated. Nepeta Superba is an excellent variety, prized for its vigorous cushion-like growth and almost continuous flowering.

This Phlomis grows wild in Central and Southeast Europe, and in our country, it is a critically endangered species. The stems are purple and bear rough, heart-shaped leaves. The flowers are pinkish-purple, and the dry seed capsules are also ornamental. It creates a striking decorative element even in winter. The combination with soft, loose plantings of grasses and perennials, into which Phlomis brings a strict graphic accent, is particularly impressive.

Mallow is a beautiful, long-flowering perennial. Its inflorescence resembles miniature hollyhocks or mallow. It pairs well with a classic rose combination or in wilder beds with grasses.

Baptisia (Baptisia australis) originates from North America, belongs to the pea family (Fabaceae), and resembles lupine – the bigleaf lupine. Unlike lupine, however, it does not suffer from fungal diseases and is not as appealing to slugs. Besides its blue flowers, its large pods are also interesting, adorning the plant long after it has bloomed. North American Indians used baptisia roots to disinfect wounds and reduce fever, and its leaves for dyeing fabrics. Patience is key with baptisia; it takes some time to fully establish and develop a robust root system adapted to survive long periods of drought and fires. Then it is very long-lived. It was chosen as the Perennial Plant of the Year for the 2019 season. The elegant pure white 'Alba' also has slightly lighter leaves.

Kalimeris originates from East Asia, where it grows in open, bright forests and meadows. It forms strong, upright clumps and is a healthy, very long-flowering perennial. Its flowers resemble autumn asters and complement them perfectly in beds, as it begins to bloom as early as July. Madiva has white flowers with a lilac tint.

Actaea (Baneberry) is a beautiful, hardy, and long-lived perennial. It's ornamental not only for its flowers but also its foliage. In spring, it needs enough time to sprout to its full beauty. Therefore, it's ideally combined with bulbs – snowdrops and daffodils. Black Negligee has strikingly dark brownish-burgundy leaves. It's excellent for contrasting combinations in semi-shady corners of the garden. It stands out with its vigorous growth.

Hellebores are evergreen perennials that form slowly spreading clumps of leathery, dark green leaves. The stems typically bear four to five flowers. They bloom very early, in late winter and early spring. They are suitable for vases only after noticeable seed pods form in the center of the flower and the flower has matured. Before this, they tend to wilt, and the stems cannot hold the flower upright. All parts of the plant are poisonous. The flowers of Helleborus 'Double Ellen Purple' are semi-double to full, a deep purple color with contrasting white stamens. As the flowers mature, the dark color fades, and the distinctively colored edges of the petals remain.
