Jacob's Ladder is a native wild perennial grown in gardens as an ornamental plant since the 16th century. Its individual leaves are arranged remarkably regularly, hence its common name Jacob's Ladder. Harvest when one-third of the florets are open. It lasts 7 to 10 days in a vase. The cultivar White Pearl has pure white flowers with yellow stamens.

Like Lavender, Hyssop is considered a low woody subshrub. It works well in similar planting schemes, with roses or even in steppe-style gravel beds. It can be used in the kitchen and as a medicinal plant. A huge attraction for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. Sweet pink flowers.

Hence their scientific name Helenium. Helenium hoopesii is an originally wild perennial with finely rayed flowers on upright, branched stems. Ideal for natural gardens. A great perennial for cutting with a long vase life of up to 14 days.

Geums are cute spring perennials with adorable cup-shaped flowers in warm shades. The flowers grow on long branching stems. The petals are often ruffled, and the flowers semi-double. We harvest for bouquets as soon as a quarter or half of the flowers on the stem are open. They last 7 days in a vase. Geum rivale is an original native perennial. It grows naturally on the banks of streams and in wet meadows. It has yellowish flowers with a pink tinge, and the calyx is purplish.

This species of knotweed originates from the Himalayas and China, where it grows in scrub and on mountain meadows along streams at high altitudes. It forms sturdy clumps of fresh green, pointed leaves. Above them, upright, narrow, candle-like inflorescences composed of individual tiny flowers appear from summer onwards. It is a very popular perennial, recently bred into many cultivars and used in Western Europe in larger park and garden landscaping. It excels with a long flowering period in late summer and good durability in a vase. It was voted Perennial of the Season 2023 by the Czech Perennials Association. The white variety Alba stands out particularly well against a darker background and has long-lasting flowers.

A beautiful, though rather short-lived perennial, ideal for steppe areas together with delicate drought-loving grasses and perennials. Harvest for bouquets as soon as approximately half of the flowers in the inflorescence are open. It lasts about 5 days in a vase. An exceptional cultivar with flowers in peach and apricot tones, which fade to an elegant antique pink as they finish blooming.

Larkspurs are a classic and at the same time a dominant feature among flower bed perennials. We often see them in the company of roses and peonies. To stand out well, they need to be given enough space and fertilization should not be forgotten. We can enjoy their beauty in flower beds, bouquets, and even try drying; the flowers retain their rich color well. They last 7 days in a vase; they are sensitive to ethylene released from ripening fruit. The 'Highlander' series comes from new Scottish breeding. It expands the color range and brings novel shapes. The flowers are incredibly full and individual petals are ruffled, which further reinforces the impression of fullness. They do not form seeds and should therefore be all the more vital. 'Flamenco' has full, reddish-purple flowers.

The Obedient plant is a native plant of the eastern regions of North America, where it grows on riverbanks and on moist meadows. It forms upright, bushy clumps that spread to the surroundings via root runners. The flowers have the shape of a slender spike with four rows of tubular flowers and resemble Snapdragon flowers. Harvest as soon as the first flowers in the inflorescence open; they continue to bloom in the vase. In a bouquet, they are a suitable companion for Dahlias and last 10–14 days in a vase. The spent spikes with seeds are interesting and usable for drying. 'Vivid' is lower and more compact, blooms early and profusely. The flower color is a distinct purple-pink.

Rudbeckia, also known as coneflowers, originates from North America; they are robust and abundantly blooming perennials of late summer and autumn. They are suitable for prairie plantings with tall grasses as well as for cottage gardens. The central disks look very effective even after flowering and decorate perennial beds throughout the winter. Harvest for the vase as soon as they bloom. Vase life is 7 to 10 days. We can also use the dry central disks. Goldsturm is a reliable and long-proven cultivar. It has bright golden-yellow flowers with dark centers.

Originally a native wild perennial that can be found in moist meadows, in shallow waters, or marshy edges of water bodies. In autumn, the leaves turn orange-red. Blush is a lower cultivar among loosestrifes. The flowers are pure light pink and combine well with other perennials.

Hollyhocks are a necessity for every lover of rural atmosphere. We traditionally associate them with sunny cottage gardens, even though they came to Europe with ancient travelers along the Silk Road all the way from the steppes of Central Asia. And the taste for travel has remained with the hollyhock. It often self-seeds and you will find it in a place where you certainly didn't plant it. Naturally, it is a biennial or short-lived perennial. However, its instability is balanced by beautiful double flowers and a distinct silhouette and height. It is suitable for cutting and was also used for dyeing and as a medicinal plant. The Chater's series includes proven varieties with pompon-like double flowers.
