Jacob's Ladder is a native wild perennial cultivated in gardens as an ornamental plant since the 16th century. It has individual leaves arranged in a strikingly regular pattern, hence its common name Jacob's Ladder. Harvest when about a third of the flowers are open. It lasts 7 to 10 days in a vase. The 'White Pearl' cultivar has pure white flowers with yellow stamens.

The inflorescences form small "suns" with a diameter of 5 cm, hence their scientific name Helenium. Hoopes' sneezeweed is originally a wild perennial with delicately rayed flowers on upright, branched stems. Ideal for natural gardens. An excellent perennial for cutting with a long vase life of up to 14 days.

It naturally grows on stream banks and in moist meadows. Its flowers are yellowish with a pink hue, and the calyx is purplish.

This species of knotweed originates from the Himalayas and China, where it grows in shrubs and mountain meadows along streams at high altitudes. It forms sturdy clumps of fresh green, pointed leaves. Above them, from summer onwards, upright, narrow, candle-like inflorescences appear, composed of individual small flowers. It is a very popular perennial, recently bred into many cultivars and used in Western Europe in larger park and garden designs. It excels with a long flowering period in late summer and good vase life. It was chosen as the perennial of the season 2023 by the Czech Perennial Society. The white variety Alba stands out particularly well against a darker background and has long-lasting flowers.

A beautiful, though rather short-lived, perennial, ideal for steppe areas alongside delicate xerophilous grasses and perennials. For bouquets, harvest when approximately half of the flowers in the inflorescence are open. It lasts about 5 days in a vase. An exceptional cultivar with flowers in peach and apricot tones, transitioning to an elegant old rose as they fade.

Květy jsou neskutečně plné a jednotlivé okvětní plátky zvlněné, což dojem plnosti ještě více zesiluje. Netvoří semena a měla by proto být o to vitálnější. Flamenco má květy plné, červeně fialové.

Physostegia is native to the eastern regions of North America, where it grows on riverbanks and in damp meadows. It forms upright, bushy clumps that spread outwards by root suckers. The flowers are shaped like slender spikes with four rows of tubular flowers, resembling snapdragons. Harvest them as soon as the first flowers in the inflorescence open; they will continue to bloom in the vase. In a bouquet, they are a suitable companion for dahlias and last 10–14 days in a vase. The spent flower spikes with seeds are interesting and can also be used for drying. Vivid is shorter and more compact, blooming early and profusely. The flower color is distinctively purplish-pink.

Coneflowers (Rudbeckia) originate from North America and are robust and profusely flowering perennials of late summer and autumn. They are suitable for prairie plantings with tall grasses and for country gardens by cottages. The central cones, after the seeds ripen, look very effective and adorn perennial beds even through winter. For vases, harvest them as soon as they bloom. Vase life is 7 to 10 days. Dry central cones can also be used. Goldsturm is its most famous cultivar. It has bright golden-yellow flowers with dark centers.

A native wild perennial that can be found in wet meadows, shallow waters, or marshy edges of water bodies. In autumn, the leaves turn orange-red. Blush is a shorter cultivar among the loosestrifes. The flowers are pure light pink, combining well with other perennials.

Hollyhocks are a must for every lover of a rustic atmosphere. We traditionally associate them with sunny grandmother's gardens, although they reached Europe with ancient travelers along the Silk Road from the steppes of Central Asia. And the hollyhock's wanderlust remains. It often self-seeds, and you'll find it in a spot where you definitely didn't plant it. Naturally, it's a biennial or short-lived perennial. Its fleeting nature is balanced by beautiful, full flowers and a striking silhouette and height. It's suitable for cutting and was also used for dyeing and as a medicinal plant. The Chater's series includes proven varieties with pompom-like, full flowers.

Perovskia are sparsely branched subshrubs, native to areas from Afghanistan to Tibet. They grow in open, sunny, rocky, and stony habitats. Their striking features are their white, felted shoots and grayish, aromatic leaves. They are suitable for sunny beds alongside other drought-tolerant perennials, where they create interesting structures even in winter months. Blue Spire is an aromatic cultivar with delicate grey-green foliage and striking, airy, medium-blue flowers.

Black mullein (Verbascum nigrum) is a native perennial and herb with medicinal properties. The leaves are dark green, arranged in a basal rosette. Unlike the original yellow-flowering species, the flowers of this form are pure white with purple, hairy stamens.

Naturally growing from Southern Europe to Turkey and Central Asia, these are decorative and undemanding plants suitable for natural perennial gardens.
