According to it, the devil, in anger over the protective power of this herb, bit off its rhizome. In the wild, it grows most often in damp meadows and pastures, but in the garden, it will thrive perfectly in a sunny spot with well-draining soil. You will receive a grown seedling in a pot from us, which you can simply transplant straight into the chosen flowerbed. It is an ideal plant for beginners, reliably withstanding frosts and not suffering from any pests or diseases. It grows to a height of thirty to eighty centimeters and from July to September forms magical spherical flowers of a blue-purple color. These act as a literal magnet for bees, hoverflies, and rare butterfly species, providing them with a rich pasture. Unlike lupine, however, it does not suffer from fungal diseases and does not taste as good to slugs. Výsadba a volba stanoviště
Čertkus luční (Succisa pratensis) je úžasně nenáročná dlouhověká trvalka, kterou od nás obdržíte jako plně zakořeněnou sazenici připravenou k okamžité výsadbě. Jakmile vám dorazí, můžete ji rovnou vysadit na vybrané místo v zahradě. Nejlépe se jí bude dařit na přímém slunci, ale výborně zvládá i polostín. Základem úspěchu je vlhčí půda – ideálně humózní, hlinitá až jílovitá. Rostlina má velmi ráda vodu, takže se perfektně hodí do vlhčích částí pozemku, kde by se jiným druhům nedařilo. Pro čertkus je vhodná i chudá, vlhká půda a zároveň slunné místo v zahradě. Důležité je najít mu stanoviště bez přímé konkurence agresivně se rozrůstajících trvalek, které by ho utlačovaly. Při výsadbě dodržujte spon kolem padesáti centimetrů, což odpovídá zhruba pěti až sedmi rostlinám na metr čtvereční.
Zálivka, hnojení a péče v sezóně
Po výsadbě dbejte na pravidelnou a vydatnou zálivku. Tato trvalka vyžaduje stabilnější vlhkost, proto půdu nenechávejte nikdy úplně přeschnout, obzvláště během horkých letních měsíců. Vzhledem k přirozené skromnosti druhu není nutné žádné pravidelné hnojení, na živiny je rostlina poměrně nenáročná a vystačí si s běžnou půdou. Během sezóny od července do září vás čertkus potěší krásnými modrofialovými květy na pevných stoncích vysokých třicet až osmdesát centimetrů. Zimování a pěstování v nádobách
Obrovskou výhodou této trvalky je její absolutní mrazuvzdornost až do mínus 34 °C, nevyžaduje tak naprosto žádnou speciální zimní ochranu. Nadzemní část na zimu odumírá, proto suché stonky a listy odstraňte až v předjaří jako přirozenou ochranu kořenů a prevenci proti zahnívání. Potěší vás jistě i fakt, že čertkus netrpí na žádné choroby a je zcela bez škůdců. Pokud nemáte vhodný vlhký záhon, nabízí se pěstování v nádobách a květináčích s chudším a propustným substrátem. V takovém případě zvolte prostorný květináč a nezapomínejte na každodenní zálivku, protože substrát v nádobě rychleji vysychá. I v nádobě vám tato trvalka vydrží dělat radost mnoho let.
