Soapwort is a hardy and low-maintenance perennial that blooms for a very long time and has a sweet, subtle fragrance. Its roots contain saponin and were once used to wash wool. The wild form spreads too aggressively in the garden. Cultivated double-flowered forms are much more moderate. Harvest as soon as one-third of the flowers on the stem have opened. Lasts 7 days in a vase. Rosea Plena features full, sweet pink flowers.

Oriental Poppy Coral Reef
The Oriental poppy originates from the Caucasus, Turkey, and Iran, where it grows on rocky slopes and dry meadows. It blooms with large bowl-shaped flowers on tall stems. Like all poppies, for use in bouquets, we harvest them as soon as the buds show color and "crack." Additionally, we briefly sear the stem ends with a flame (for about 20 seconds) and immediately place them in cold water. They will then last in a vase for 4 days. The strikingly hairy and large leaves die back shortly after flowering, and the plant must rest until spring to gather strength. Some leaves sprout again in late summer. Therefore, it is advisable to plant other perennials in close proximity that sprout later and can draw attention during the poppy's dormant period. Coral Reef is a variety with salmon-pink flowers and black spots at the base of the petals.

Cultivation
Sazenici mydlice lékařské doporučujeme vysazovat na slunné stanoviště nebo do lehkého polostínu. Zvolte ideálně místo s hlinitou nebo písčitou půdou, která je dobře propustná, ale dokáže si udržet mírnou vlhkost. Při výsadbě do záhonu dodržujte spon zhruba 40 cm, což odpovídá šesti rostlinám na metr čtvereční. Mydlici můžete s úspěchem pěstovat i v prostorné nádobě nebo hlubším truhlíku na balkoně či terase. V takovém případě nezapomeňte na kvalitní drenážní vrstvu na dně květináče, aby nedocházelo k přemokření kořenů, které trvalkám nesvědčí.
Ačkoliv jde o rostlinu mimořádně odolnou a nenáročnou, pro bohaté kvetení je důležitá správná zálivka. Mydlice vyžaduje střední zálivku a dobře poroste na nepříliš suchých zahradních půdách. Obrovskou výhodou je, že netrpí na škůdce ani běžné choroby. Pouze na příliš suchých a písčitých půdách může být občas náchylná na padlí. V tom případě rostlinu bez obav radikálně seřízněte, velmi rychle a ochotně pak obrůstá novými svěže zelenými výhony. Hnojení není nutné přehánět, brzy na jaře postačí přidat k rostlině vrstvu vyzrálého kompostu pro dobrý start do sezóny.
Během léta, od června do září, se můžete těšit na záplavu světle růžových květů. Pro podporu a prodloužení doby kvetení je vhodné průběžně odstraňovat odkvetlé stonky. Vzhledem k výšce 60 až 80 cm nepotřebuje mydlice žádnou oporu a drží si kompaktní tvar. Na zimu nevyžaduje tato trvalka vůbec žádnou speciální péči. Její mrazuvzdornost sahá až do -34 °C, hravě tedy přečká i ty nejtužší zimy bez přikrývání.

A valuable garden and medicinal perennial, originally from North America. It blooms in summer with dark purple-pink flowers. The spiky flower discs are an irresistible lure for butterflies. Lasts 7–10 days in a vase. After plucking the petals, the stems with the central discs can be dried or used in fresh bouquets as an interesting element. Rubinstern is very similar to the Magnus cultivar; the petals are darker and firmer. As they fade, they gradually pale and droop downwards.

Gaura is a clump-forming perennial native to Texas and Louisiana. Here, it behaves more like a short-lived perennial. It combines beautifully with grasses and adds lightness and airiness to flower beds. It is excellent pasture for insects. Fernleaf Yarrow originates from the Caucasus and Central Asia. Unlike Common Yarrow, it grows in clumps and is also suitable for drying. Cutting back soon after flowering encourages re-blooming. However, if you decide to leave the spent stems in the beds, you gain a perfect structure that remains impressive long into winter. The leaves of this species emit a typical bitter Yarrow aroma.
