Fleeceflower Rosea is an imposing perennial that will bring vertical structure and softness to your flowerbeds. The original species comes from the moister mountain meadows of the Himalayas, making this plant very hardy and vigorous. In the garden, it forms dense clumps of fresh green leaves that reliably cover the soil and give weeds no chance. From mid-summer until the first frosts, it blooms tirelessly with a multitude of slender spikes that elegantly tower above the leaves. The inflorescences are literally a magnet for bees and other pollinators, so you will attract useful life to the garden with it. The Rosea cultivar is characterized by a gentle, light pink shade of flowers that looks very romantic and unobtrusive. Thanks to its height of around one meter, it is perfectly suited for the middle and rear parts of perennial beds, where it stands out beautifully in combination with ornamental grasses or as underplanting for taller shrubs. Fleeceflower is not demanding to grow; it does best in sun or partial shade in humous, sufficiently moist soil. The flowers are also suitable for cutting into a vase, where they stay fresh and bring joy indoors. Rdesno Rosea je vděčná trvalka, která pro svůj zdárný růst vyžaduje především správně zvolené stanoviště, kde bude mít dostatek prostoru vyniknout. Ideální je umístit sazenice na slunné místo nebo do polostínu. Vzhledem k tomu, že původní druh pochází z vlhkých horských luk, tato rostlina miluje vodu, ale nesnáší trvalé zamokření. Půda by měla být hlinitá, humózní a dobře propustná, aby kořeny mohly dýchat, ale zároveň si země udržela potřebnou vlhkost. Pokud máte na zahradě těžkou jílovitou půdu, doporučujeme ji před výsadbou vylehčit kompostem; naopak do příliš písčité půdy zapracujte organickou hmotu, která pomůže zadržet vodu. Protože jde o vzrůstnou rostlinu dorůstající výšky přes jeden metr, dodržujte při výsadbě spon 45–60 cm (přibližně 3 až 5 rostlin na m²), aby měly jednotlivé trsy dostatek místa a zároveň časem vytvořily zapojený porost.
Péče o tuto trvalku není náročná, což z ní dělá skvělou volbu i pro začínající zahradníky. Klíčová je zálivka, a to zejména v horkých letních dnech, pokud rdesno pěstujete na plném slunci. Rostlina vám dá najevo nedostatek vody svěšením listů, ale po zalití se rychle vzpamatuje. Pro udržení vlhkosti a dodání živin je velmi vhodné okolí rostliny zamulčovat nebo na jaře přihnojit vyzrálým kompostem či organickým hnojivem. Velkou výhodou kultivaru Rosea je jeho přirozená odolnost – netrpí na běžné choroby ani škůdce, takže chemická ochrana zpravidla není vůbec nutná. Během sezóny můžete odstraňovat odkvetlé stonky, ale není to nezbytné, rostlina nakvétá vytrvale až do podzimu.
S příchodem zimy se o rdesno nemusíte bát, je plně mrazuvzdorné až do -28 °C (zóna 5a) a v našich podmínkách přezimuje bez problémů bez nutnosti speciální ochrany. Nadzemní část rostliny s prvními mrazy odumře a zaschne. Suché stonky a listy ponechte na záhoně přes celou zimu; fungují jako přirozená izolace kořenů a navíc poskytují úkryt drobnému hmyzu. Řez provádějte až v předjaří (březen), kdy celý trs seříznete nízko nad zemí. Brzy poté začne rostlina znovu rašit a vytvářet bohaté trsy svěžích zelených listů. Jedná se o dlouhověkou trvalku, která na jednom místě vydrží mnoho let a s věkem nabírá na kráse.
Zákazníci se často ptají, zda je možné rdesno pěstovat i v nádobách. Odpověď je ano, ale s určitými specifiky. Vzhledem k tomu, že jde o mohutnou rostlinu s výškou přes 100 cm, budete potřebovat dostatečně velký a stabilní květináč (o průměru alespoň 40–50 cm). Na dno nádoby nezapomeňte dát drenážní vrstvu. Pěstování v nádobě klade mnohem vyšší nároky na zálivku – substrát nesmí nikdy zcela vyschnout, což v horkém létě může znamenat zalévání i každý den. Pro balkonové pěstování je tedy vhodné jen pro ty, kteří mohou zajistit pravidelný přísun vody, případně využijí samozavlažovací nádoby.

Calamint Blue Cloud
Lesser calamint Blue Cloud is an undemanding and modest perennial that reliably perfumes any sunny garden. Its original homeland is the sunny and dry slopes of Southern Europe, which is why it thrives best here in direct sun in well-drained, sandy, or poorer loamy soil. It handles winter without problems, tolerating frosts down to minus twenty-three degrees. You will receive a grown seedling in a pot from us, which you just need to transplant straight into the flowerbed, where it will very soon form a compact, airy small shrub reaching a height of up to forty centimeters. It does not suffer from any diseases or pests, so even complete beginners can easily handle caring for it. Throughout late summer and into autumn, it blooms with a record number of tiny blue flowers that are so typical of the Blue Cloud variety. The whole plant emits a pleasant minty-spicy scent, and its flowers, which resemble thyme, act as a literal magnet for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. It will look great among roses or in naturally designed steppe flowerbeds, where it naturally complements lower ornamental grasses. Additionally, both the blue flowers and green leaves are edible, so you can use them to garnish summer dishes. Lesser calamint is also excellently suited for cutting into smaller fresh bouquets, adding a fine structure to them in a vase.

It forms smaller, compact, airy bushes that release a minty-spicy scent. The thyme-like flowers attract bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. It will look good among roses as well as in naturalistic steppe beds, perhaps with lower grasses. This calamint is generally more vigorous. It differs from other calamints with felted leaves by its record flowering length, stiff and shiny leaves, and also a larger number of flowers that do not form seeds and are therefore maximally durable.
